  • @MyZombieslayer22 Thanks

  • lol my snake's name is Poseidon, they are bros lol

  • @sub1469 Totally!!!

  • nice set up :)

  • How big is the cage i might get one!

  • @dj201199 ok i will tell u everthing a 10 gallon tank screen lid with locks aspen or eco earth bedding stick/driftwood plant hide water dish and ur snake and heat lamp with 65 watt or 50 watt light i preffer green for 10 gallon just ask people a pet store and they will set u up get the cor snake at like 4 months old and there u go and just go with wut pet store says get tank and everythng a day or 2 before u get snake so it smells like ur house and handle them for about 30 minutes every day

  • @cornsnake78 Thanks, I've been a little lazy with replies...

  • @dj201199 hope i helped u

  • looks nice!

  • you cant use leaves

  • @undeadskater513 They're fake....

  • my ball python will eat that little fuck my ball is 100000000 times bigger and fat

  • @12crestedgeckoboy Too bad no one gives a fuck.

  • should you use bottle water instead of COLD tap water ?? is there really that much difference ?

  • @OwNaGePatty use warm tap water not cold say about 70 degrees ask people at ur local pet store

  • and how long do dey grow?

  • what do u feed him?

  • @Erick34249 most Corns get up to 4-5 feet sometimes up to 6 feet when an adult. They eat mice. Frozen/thawed (F/T) usually.

  • are you using a heat pad and light?

  • do u need a heat mat ?

  • @MrHarrywicks Only if you absolutely need the heat. Corn snakes like to burrow, and if they burrow below your bedding, they might get burned from the actual heat mat. Hope I helped!

  • one thing...bottled water is the best thing for the snake....tap warm can harm it after a long period of time

  • suck terrarium

  • ur a retard u dont want to use real live wood!!!

  • @blackout1697 Good thing I soaked it in water and then baked it killing all the germs and fungi in it...

  • @guitargrapher Issue is, if you use wood, do not feed the snake in the cage, EVER. Wood can get caught in its mouth and swallowed, once swallowed it can block your snakes digestive tract and kill it.

  • @blackout1697 he says how he cleaned it in the video you stupid fuck

  • @blackout1697 you know nothing about corn snakes or snakes in gen i bet your one of those people who is getting your first reptile if you take of the bark and bake it and soak it the wood is safe for your reptile. i mean really don't use real wood what do you think they climb on in the wild fake wood learn your stuff bro before you call some retarded and yes i have a corn snake i have many reptiles i have been doing it for 6years.

  • I just got a corn snake today and your video has really shown me how to look after him

  • @TheSnakegirl99 No problem!

  • i have a 745 watt bulb in my 10 gallon

  • @neeslapper420 I don't think they make 745 watt bulbs... But if you do...don't use it...

  • @guitargrapher i meant 75

  • @neeslapper420 Well..... I guess you could use that, but just make sure that the temperature is good, and if not, go down to a 60 watt, or a 40 watt...

  • how big is that tank?

  • @MrTyler2167 10 gallon

  • I heard snakes don't really need lighting, just heat.

  • what about lighting

  • @ManTheCarson Depends on the size of the tank, the light I used was a 40 watt, but you can upgrade to a 60 watt with a little bit larger tank

  • i have a corn snake called fanta and shes a female!

  • I want a snake but I don't have the time or place for it right now I already have 2 puppies 2 fish 1 lizard and 1 tortoise.

  • i have a 3 foot albino corn in a 4foot viv could u take a look at my video and let me know wot you think any inspiration for new outlay would be appreciated tahnks

  • Yeah, I have one, but I didn't put it up in this vid for some reason...

  • @guitargrapher

im getting a corn soon and ive got a 4ft tank but should i use a 100 wat or 60 or 40 and i dont get the heatglo and dayglo what wouldyou reccomend???

  • weres the heat lamp? u should get one when its older.

  • I'm not too sure on that. You might want to ask a pro like SnakeBytes, they'll prolly know, I'm guessing it's alright, but again, I'm not sure. DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!

  • is it safe to use anti-bacterial dish soap to clean their tank??

  • @sasprawler NO WAY!! It can cause serioous damage to the skin of the snake or the smell can cause stress to the snake

  • @dogsrul1234543 what should i use??

  • @sasprawler Go to your local pet store and just ask for what types of reptile friendly soap or cleaning stuff they have. :)

  • @dogsrul1234543 can i just use boiling water? i'm not questioning your advice but if i were to use anti bacterian dishsoap and rinse it out very well, would that cause and harm if it's a non-scented version?

    thanks

  • @sasprawler yeah just some hot water will do good. but let it cool down first

cus then if you just empty the hot and put in cold the glass will break. so put in some boiling water. maybe clean the sides with a rag or cloth, then empty it out, let it cool down, put in cold water and it should cool down the tank for the snake. This should help. No Prob :)

  • Comment removed

  • @sasprawler yeah thats absolutely fine. its no problem im glad to help

  • Respond to this video... yes and non scented can do great too.

  • i have the same second hide as you

  • why do you have so many tempature gages

  • @fishingman636 I have one in the actual cage, the other gauge was just a humidity gauge.

  • Hahah "you're probably wondering if this is really bottled water." why the fuck would I wonder that??

  • I still need something for mine to climb on (I just got him today). I'm surrounded by trees so I have plenty of options for branches though.

  • @BloodylocksBathory Good luck! Make sure you sterilize everything properly before exposing it to your snake!

  • he's like a big worm 8^)

  • Never use foliage that hasn't been properly treated.

  • Thanks alot my dad doesnt want me getting getting a tarantula because of bad experiences with them so i really wanted a corn snake and he thought it would be perfect but i couldnt find one video about its effing tank thank you great vid n cool snake and name almost stole name

  • @unable2fail911 No problem! I hope everything works out!

  • You should ditch those thermometers and get some digital ones. The ones you have are very commen to read inaccurately.

  • @AllAlaskan907 Yeah, I prolly should

  • Yes it is posible to youse just a heat pad.

  • Is it possible to use only a heatpad?

  • will a 25 W lamp and a heating pad be okey for a 10-15 gallon tank for a baby corn snake? i have a cold side to.

  • @TheFishKeeper100 it should be alright as long as you make sure the heat in both sides are at the proper gradients

  • good vid!

  • @911broncofan2 Thanks!

  • how many gallon tank is that

  • @raf4jack it is just a 10 gallon tank.

  • its ok

  • @TheChadharrell Yeah, I know it's just okay, but I think people will like to see an example so that they know what to get and what to do....

  • Stupid kid you need 1 hide on hot side and cold side!!!!!!111!!!!11!!1!!!

  • @fleebinflarbin he has 2 hide dick wab listen and watch on >:{

    Nice vid :)

  • @Vinter217 Thanks Vinter

  • @fleebinflarbin Then why are you watching if you know that??? Plus I do have two hides, but I was just using that one for an example.

  • very good video

  • @Murgz23 Thanks!

  • hes TINY!

  • @Azza9595 He is

  • haha yeahh your snake is called zues, my snake is called hades :P

  • @RoryyKellss That's pretty funny, now all we need is an Aphrodite, and it's the whole gang, haha

  • @guitargrapher haha yeah man we need to find someone who has called there snake that :)

  • @RoryyKellss yeah, what kind is yours?

  • @guitargrapher Mine is a Mexican Black X Banded Cali Kingsnake

  • @RoryyKellss Sweet, how old is he?

  • @guitargrapher he's about 7 weeks old now give or take a few days lol how old is zues now?

  • @RoryyKellss he would be about 2 years old

  • @guitargrapher and Poseidon, apollo, ares.. couple more

  • nice vid

  • @fritomonker Thanks!

  • hey im getting a corn snake and i would like to know something when do you clean their cage? how many days?

    your snake is beautiful

  • @101020sarah: I would try to clean your snakes cage at least once a month, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "how many days?" but what I think what you mean is, how long will it take...I'm not sure though. But it will only take an hour if you really clean it out and take out everything, I'm thinking about putting on a cleaning of my cage pretty soon, so look for that if you want help.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • your right, its probably not good if it cant breath LOL

  • @fisherwidmer: Haha, definitely!

  • really nice vid!! cool snake to.

  • @fisherwidmer: Thanks!

  • that stick is a perfect fit!

  • Yeah, when I found the stick, I was doubtful, but then I put it in, and was excited!!

  • really well done nice job

  • Thank you

  • also u could boil it then freez it. samething...

  • Yeah, but I think its easier to soak it in the tub than trying to fit it in my freezer...

  • I dont think its a very good idea to get most pets at such colossal corps, such as petco and petsmart. I, myself, have had very bad expiernce, and go local! help you your community=]

  • @teardrop4444: I agree with you, I myself bought Zeus at a local pet shop, but whenever I looked at their cages, and other habitat accessories, I thought that I might buy the other things at PetCo.

  • @RandomNuthingNess: I got my snake at PetCo. And they can get up to 5-6ft. All a corn snake needs is a 20 gallon, but If you want your snake to have a bit more room, you can move up to a 40 gallon

  • @Nexuspire: I would use a heat mat and a lamp. You can change the water every other day and it will be fine. If you have both big and small hides put them in the tank and see which one your snake likes better. Get a water dish that has enough room for your snake to coil up in.

  • Nice snake man, i was just wondering because you havn't said anything bout this. What heat source should i use and do you have to change it's water everyday i'v been told you have to and it's very messy carrying the bowl everyday. Pluss last question does it matter how big it's hide is ? i got a small hide and a really big hide ? and i got a big water dish and a small water dish. just wondering if it matters.

  • oh and where did you get your corn snake

  • you need 2 his one on the cold side and on on the worm side

  • 20 gallon?

  • I have a 10 gallon, but when the snake gets as long or a bit longer than the 10 gallon, its time to move up to a 20 gallon.

  • how big do corn snakes big and how big of a tank do i need to get for a adult corn snake? thanks 4 answering if u do

  • how long is he?( in cm)..and what age?

  • my snake looks exactly like yours!! NO JOKE

  • Haha cool

  • make sure u soak wood in cool water for about 15min before u bake it so it doesnt catch on fire or burn

  • you should have baked that stick at about 350

cause some parasites can survive at 150 degrees

  • Yeah I know that, I rebaked a few days after making this video.

  • im not a snake expert but shouldent you have a 20 at least 10 gal *long* or are you gonna change it when it grows up more?...cus my (corn) snake is like 5 months old and i have it in a 20 long...

  • It does not really matter whenever it's a baby, but you shouldn't have it in too big of a container because it could get lost, I know that sounds weird but it's true, you wouldn't lose it it would get lost. And yes I am going to move him up when he gets older/bigger.

  • My first corn started life in a ten gallon tank. Then moved to a twenty long, and is now in a forty. Which breeders keep telling me is "unnecessary" but I feel that my snake is active enough to deserve to stretch herself out...

Too much space though, according to the breeders I've chatted with, makes them nervous and insecure, and could also make them more aggressive.

  • what do you use to heat your tank?

  • I use a Fluker's heat lamp, and if it doesn't get hot enough I pull out my zoo med heat pad.

  • you can use heat mats

  • Of course, but don't use heat rocks, because your snake could burrow under it and get burned, or any other reptile could get on it and get burned.

  • for a corn snake can i just have a heat lamp and just use reptile carpet on the bottom? if there is no meat mat they cant burn themselves.

  • Yes you can, but i would recommend using aspen bedding because corn snakes like to burrow. And I actually stopped using my heat mat because it is summer, so depending on the seasons you might want to have a heat mat or not.

  • ok. i have aspen bedding but i just thought it would be easier just to use the carpet.

  • Yeah carpet would be easier, but if you want your corn snake to thrive good and well, then I would use aspen rather than carpet. (Aspen also looks better)

  • Well that's just opinion. ;) I personally think aspen looks dry and rough and uncomfortable. I like the carpet much more, typically the green color. However, being as how corns like to burrow, I can see how the aspen would suit them better.

Cute video. I like your set up, and Zeus is gorgeous. Does he climb in the leaves? I don't have anything like that in my corns' cages, I might get some though if they would use them.

  • yeah, ive had loads of big breeders tell me that too...although this is my only corn so i dont really know about that too much...how long have you had this corn?

  • yeah, he does climb over everything in that tank...especially at night time

  • i've had her a little over two years on a few different types of bedding. currently she's on millet seed, but i want to switch her back to the carpet. i haven't seen enough digging around to convince me that she will mind very much. :P

  • Oh thats cool, yeah, for the first few months my corn loved going under the aspen, but now he's more into climbing around.

  • what kind of corn snake do you have...i mean what color and albino or no albino...stuff like that

  • i agree with that, but if its all you have. you can always wrap the heat rock in a sock. or a shirt sleeve or something else like that. heat mats are the way to go but for those who cant get a hold of one and only have heat rocks. make sure you cover it with something thick enough so the snake doesn't get burned

  • Well...If I were you I would try to stay away from them, but if you absolutely can't, I guess that's okay.

  • lol. ive had plenty of snakes dude. i know what needs done to keep em healthy and safe.

  • i have a question

is that the average size for a 5 month old corn snake or was urs just small?

  • my snake is bigger in person than in this video.

  • cool vid, how old is your snake?

  • Thanks, he is 5 months
