@takingofphelham123 ouch! Well you need to keep at it. It seems to me like you are expecting him to be super happy when he first wakes up. He has to calm down after waking him up so he will then come out of the ball.
Hubby bought himself one and lost interest. I now took over working with Mr. Hedge (Paco) to get him tame. This helped as the waiting is indeed a frustrating process. I am determined to stick with it ;)
i have my hedgehog for almost a year hes an european hedgehog but hes not tamed (i got him when he was baby too) he bites A LOT, he bite my nose twice....
im not afraid to pick him up but i can pick him up in your method cuz his an european one so hes BIG i can make a vid for you if u want to see him and help me tame him
@BULA9000 Well this is an extreme case and arejust going to need patience. Mine was REALLY hard to train. Take him out of his cage and set him on a chair( You need to watch him though). When he gets out of his ball and comes to your hand give him a meal worm. They are sold at pet shops. Leave him out with you for 20-30 minutes a day.
@Hunterthesloth I dont think they sell meal worms at petshops here but I'll go search. I gave him earthworms but they are hard to find... I got some money from my birthday and I'll get more to buy him a much bigger cage and a wheel. Tomorrow I'll bath him :D :)
@BULA9000 and a bowl for water cuz I have a water bottle for hamsters idk how to call it in english but he cant drink like a hamster anyway cuz he need a lot of water
your hedgie is named sonic and mine is named knuckles (another hedgie in sonic the hedgehog) :) haha

ughhhh I have had him for 2 months now and NO progress I have been very patient and played with him every day! He acts like he has a short term memory
and forgets about me overnight :(.
