not picking, but we love your videos, so we can find them, please change- title to " Furthur" ? This is a wonderful version of : Friend Of The Devil , it was just thrilling to be there and hear Bobby and Phil together again, and the Band is just perfect for this project. see you Furthur -on in December ! Liz THANKS for recording :)
these shows were great,, thanks for putting this up opinions are like arsholes everyone has one.. for my money Bobby can sing whatever he wants,, JohnK has some serious chops and got to sing a bunch over the course of the run he also took some serios leads the band played off each other for sure.. its all good///
Look, if you're going to invite John Kadlicek to the party, then let him do what he does best - sing and play the Garcia parts. As a dedicated Dead Head for over 35 years I have the following recommendation for Bob Weir, play and sing your parts!
I don't know who Stu Allen is, but John Kadlicek (DSO guy) is better than this, and when allowed to play out, he will torch your belly to the ground.
I'm guessing Bob said something to him along the lines of, "You can solo when I glance at you. And I'll sing half of Bird Song. And all of Help on the Way. Sugaree, too."
DSO guy seems pretty tame, and i have seen them, albeit only once. i barely remember it.
but, i've seen Stu Allen with Workingman's Ed in Berkeley and he has the same "Jerry" skills, to call it that...but he also has some raw guts that DSO guy doesn't seem to put out. Like some have said, sounding like Jerry is one thing, but touching upon some kind of "fire in the belly", that's what's most important!
Bobby's Dylanesque take of FOTD is a cut above his usual butchering of Jerry tunes, but that's not saying much.
This sounds weak and uninspired, oh well, this band hasn't sounded good on a consistent basis since fall tour of 1991.
