There wasn't ONE cassette from Mantronix that I didn't flip over & over ten x's before playing something else..Mantronix. the 1st music-makin mexican, mixxing in a melee of madness. Not,Lighter Shade Of Brown. Not Kid Frost or SPM.Mexicans didn't even want to listen to my "ni**er sh*t"...Til I told them ,that's some spanish blood making music right there. suddenly they want to listen.Mexicans are so particular about their kind.To bad other races aren't as much. That's a good thing people.
I bought the cassette album when it came out in '88. I played it so much the tape warped. This track had a nice heavy bass thump. Definitely a slept on album...
The most complex sound in Hip Hop history. Only those who understand music knows how difficult and intricate Mantronik's music was to create. In Full Effect is at the top of the list. And, It took a smooth, rhythmic voice like Tee's to blend-a perfect mix.
At the time, this 3rd album was seen as just a contract obligation and underrated,as i remember,i was 18 at the time,Tee's sophisticated lyrics with Mantronik's creative talent made their sound unique in many ways.

Ladies and Gentlemen - Take a real moment to listen - 8 and 16 bit programming creating classic beats which have been copied over a period of 25 yrs - What has happen to this generations creative side - There isn't any - No One within this instant generation has created anything - 1st Generation in 50 yrs that hasn't created their own sound -
Today's - Music - Samples and Loops - from 70's and 80's
@Statick1 Kaadauwgg & DC!4eva about to bring real music back..Fun soulful,,hopefully,,prayfully.not just rims radios and bitches..Though those things can be quite nice too.peace..uuuuuuu MANTRONIX !!
@drboot i know what you are saying about todays music but some of mantronix best work used samples and he used lots of drumloops aswell , the difference is he turned it into his own sound instead of copying everyone else style and way of doing things.
Simply not true. You may not like the lyrics, but there is music coming from Atlanta and other places that don't use samples. Even Juveniles 400 Degreez album had an "old school" guy name Manny Fresh create some new sounds which is why that album was received so well in the late 90s.
Some people just like to think the time of their heyday was the best. Rinse. Repeat.
He was probably influenced by it, but not his entire style by any means. Just like Kurtis Mantronik was probably influenced by Jamaican street DJs who often use these types of beat machines. See how that works?
