Those are Shepherd pipes...I was surprised when the video started out with you playing without the usual acoustics that accompany your vids...then I heard it at the end. You sure do love those cathedrals.
What make are these pipes? I really like the sound and the simple decoration on the drones looks great, I am thinking about getting a set of pipes again now after a 15 year break!! listening to lots of different pipes, I see you now have a lovely set of Hendersons, how do you find them compared to this set?
Good tuning. You didn't crush your gracenotes that is good, alot of pipers crush the gracenotes thinking it makes them sound like they play better but take the grace out of grace note and it is till a note and it deserves the same attention that any other note gets.
great video, well played/executed. and i couldnt help but notice that u have the black watch kilt. not only is that my favorite tartan but i wear it too = ]
You are welcome. I always enjoy seeing your videos. You play great. I looked at your Bio, couldn't read it though, I don't speak German. The thistle on the page is a nice touch.
Very nice playing. Type "When the pipers play" here in Youtube and you will see one of the most awesome videos of pipers you will ever find. Keep the vids coming, your awesome.
Loved that transition of the sound to that echo, and the awesome ending of the playing with the note still ringing in the air!
This is one of my favorite tunes on bagpipes, I also know there is another title for the song called "The Water is Wide". Either that, or they sound extremely similar.
Definitely the same tune, never heard it called that before but I just checked and they're identical (also called O Wally, Wally"). A tune with multiple names is not uncommon, new lyrics will often be put to an existing tune or song and renamed, but of course the tune remains the same. In this case there is also a hymn "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" that is set to the same tune.
W O N D E R F U L ! Thanks! I MUST get this on my list of tunes.
