Brother what you say has truth behind it but you can't make excuses for our people we as people have to be accountable we can't look back at the past and say it affects our future jesus didn't let his trial stop him from being our king my brother find God my brother he is the source of all things....God Bless You My Brother....
@DOCB2020 Yet the reality still stands true, if there is a system in place to hold u down it doesnt' matter what you do.... I look at things for what they truly are and I don't use wishful thinking..
there's no proof of this system its just a myth black conventiolist created that there being held to a lower scale than whites.... which is true in some cases but we have to responsible Jwriter4 i know your a man and yu have the right sense to know if your going to commit a crime are not right? so do i we as black men have to make right decision life is made by the choices you make....
@DOCB2020: Dude I have advanced degrees in Criminology..... Even with rational choice theory not everyone is in control of his/her circumstances.... See not too many of us think that deeply....
yes Jwriter4 i hav thought deeply about this but the matter of the fact is if your born under terrible circumstances you have opprutunities to get out financial aid is offered to any one who needs it to better yourself for economical gain..... you don't have to do that there are many success stories from blacks who overcame many circumstances an obstacles but those are not shown im a product of the hood....Dont know if you are?
@DOCB2020 Dude under ur logic blks and other minorites are lazy.... People are always looking for opportunities they arent there.... like i say time and time again equal opp means nothing without equal results... look at the results of these alleged opps..... Do some more research instead of thinking......The disparities are ripping through the roof..
So who do you blame because results aren't equal thats self accountability my friend i grew up in Rosewood on the northside of Houston Tx do some research on us...
but im not trying to undermind your thoughts im just saying there's no excuses in today's society for blacks to be playing the oppress card....because if 3 can do it why not 10.... just saying..
@DOCB2020: Again the disparities are going thru the roof you say it is excuses yet you havent lived this life most likely u dont know.... sad, this is why most of the world see americans as dumb because they're incapble of critical thinking..
what critical thinking there is to do this accountability supress thing is nothing but a theory you have on why blacks commit crimes...I find it that your making excuses for blacks... .
For example Jwriter4 look at black america before segregation black business in black neighborhoods alot of 2 parent households and the drive and ambition to overcome...I personally believe after segregation the black man wanted what the white man had wanted to be power like white men instead of appreciating what he had already..... we lost our sense of who we are....
@DOCB2020 U've yet to explain to us how we MEASURE!!!! Equal opp without equal results shows that nothing has been done... Now factor in the disparities and I rest my case!!! You're just in denial!!
i have NIGGAS GOTTA STOP BEING STUPID!!!! if there where more black own business than this wouldn't be a problem NIGGAS NEED OWNERSHIP!!!!! stop bitchin and do something about it.....
@DOCB2020: WOW go and get an education so you can do something about it...This is another problem too many UNEDUCATED fools speaking on the issues and don't even know what they're saying or how to put it out there......Just because your surroundings are poor and disgusting that doesn't mean that is the reality for all blacks my friend......
Da proof in pudding young man you can't get overemotional...accept that the white man knows what he's doing...and im sick of you throwing your degree in my face it just a piece of paper from a white mans institution..
@DOCB2020 What pudding??? Again you have failed MISERABLY to provide proof.... You go off simple stereotypical nonsense, which isn't supported in academia go and get a damn education!!!
@Jwriter4 I going to tell you like this nothing you say can be proved until you can get me things that make light of what your saying have a bless day.... Go Cowboys...
Look ,, i didnt have a mother or a father, was never kept in school, been to multiple foster homes, black mexican and white homes, all were cracked out.lol.
Got 2 felonys, done a 2 year stint in jail. Got out then told the gang i wanted out. Ended up in hospital with a fractured scull and massive concusion, since then ive been doing ok, got my own place , married...NO kids. Works ok, not the best but im gettin by.
You have to be willing to die for your cause.. lot of people your talking about are in gangs am i wrong?
Yes while there in jail all there talkin about is they are changed, and things will be different, But they never have the balls to get out of there gang.
Don King and Charles Dutton are two guys with felonies who made it big. There are many others who got out of the system and made their way in life on a much smaller scale.
You and your girl sound like 70's militants and the problem is that this isn't the 70's. One of the greatest accomplishments of the so called militants is that they exposed those "invisible forces." People know about institutional racism, it is not a secret. I'm running out of characters but I hope you get my point.
You are right in a lot of the things that you say and what you are trying to do to help the community is more than commendable. However, I know men who decided before they even caught their first felony that they were going to be millionaires and live the high life. They intentional took the low road to get to that point and prison is just a speed bump toward that goal. My point is that for a lot of guys the felony doesn't matter because never intended to be "do right" men in the first place.
Even with that being said, I dont know we'd have to examine the individual cases to see the aggravating and mitigating factors.. I dont believe that people exclusively chose to be evil and do harm... There is almost all the time other factors that adds to those activities...
I am not refuting anything that you have said. I am just saying that we (the Black community) can't pretend that there are no BM who commit crimes and stay in crime for the same reasons that WM do... Money and power. Brotha's can conveniently use racism as an excuse to do what they were going to whether racism, fascism or any other "ism" were in their way.
This isnt true for all.... I know in NJ you will be completely barred from State Aid, which provides the bulk of the monies needed to go to college.... So diff types of Aid has diff guidelines..
Black men getting out of prison can't find a Job!? So now they are upset and wanna' take their anger out on the world in violence....look, they should have thought about that before they decided to Rob the store. Or sell the crack. Or Shoot the Gun!
I agree that black men need a second chance at getting taught LIFE skills. But what we need to do is try to prevent the black man from committing the horrible crimes in the first place!
Part of taking accountability for what you can do for yourself is acknowledging your obstacles ahead. Those dumbasses that say people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps actually think blacks should deny the real barrier to success, institutionalized racism.
Very good points in this video. It's hard for some people to look at issues from a broad perspective because they have tunnel vision. They only see things from their own narrow vision. And like you both said, many people speak on things they've never experienced. There's to many intellectuals out here for me. All talk! Peace!

With a felony you are not barred from financial aid only if you have a drug felony, and it has to be a certain degree.
