Of course Jefferson was against the Alien and Sedition Act. I don't agree with Adams doing it but maybe Jefferson paying newspaper editor James Callender to slander John Adams had something to do with it...

Yes they are cool videos, but the video ends with the narrator saying Adams was honest and wise. I have no argument with that. What I do not like though, is in the final frame. Under his honest and wise achievements, the first one is "founding father". The obvious could not have been more plainly stated. The last two were the signing of the Alien and Sedition acts and he promoted a strong federal government. It seems to me that disney supports STRONG federal government and violations of 1st am

John Adams liked by some hated by many he was a hot head and to some is consisted liberal and probably a democrat his presidency was a mess he almost got us in a war, and his presidency was rocked by scandals and because of it he had to give up the presidency to Jefferson his rival.

@geomodelrailroader The part of the story that is usually not told is that the prospect of war began during George Washington's presidency and carried over to John Adams's. Besides the Alien and Sedition Act, which "scandals" are you referring to? In fact, had word of peace with France come just a few weeks earlier, Adams would've been reelected and remember, at that time, it took at least 3-4 weeks to get word across the Atlantic.

@beatty0912 The Alien and Sedition Act was one of the Scandal I was referring to the other was The XYZ Scandal. both of these caused Adams to resign. but good did come out of his Presidency We Have a NAVY and it has been doing its job since 1805 defending or shores and killing pirates.

If there was any President who truly deserved the Nobel Prize for Peace, it would be Adams. Not Carter or Obama, who truly dont deserve it, but truly Adams. Understandable, America was not ready and fit for war with France, seeing is how we spend so much on the war for Independence. The war with France would have bankrupted us, and Adams found a solution that wouldnt :))
