1999 Comparison of Camaro SS, Trans Am, Mustang Cobra

No wonder he didn't like the cobras engine. It was the 99 cobra. They hadn't fixed the computer and intake issues. So the car rated at 320 was actually only pushing about 280!! 2001 Cobra came back with a true 320!!

Why the hell is the Trans Am rated 3rd win it hbeats the Cobra in the 1/4 1/2 mile and is tied in the 1/4 with the Camaro SS. 2nd is the Cobra is the top of the line V8 for Ford and the SS Camaro is the Top for Chevy. Why don't they have a WS6 or a Firehawk which is the top of the line V8 for Pontaic. Trans Am Is mid line.

@Smokie420ish the anniversary edition is a ws6 kiddo. look at the ram air hood aka ws6. and sorry to burst your bubble but there are only minor suspension upgrades and a hood on a ws6 vs a trans am, and a firehawk is more $. they admitted it was mostly they (as middle aged men) didnt like the styling as much

@funkysatty As far as ik WS6 was just an upgrade package not anniversary edition. Na it is more or less C&D didn't like the WS6. Look at every F-body forums site and ask around. The major of ppl will say the TA is way better looking than the camaro aka catfish. An anniversary edition is simply a white TA or WS6 with blue Stripes down the body. To be honest the anniversary edition probably is a WS6 purely to promote the WS6 more.

I own a 99 cobra and the powers not there until 4k rpm but Id have to disagree with these guys about the handling. I've had more friends turn over and wreck trans ams and camaros than any cobra. As a matter of fact, I dont know anyone who's lost complete control in a IRS Cobra!!! From a dig, the f-body wins but from a 25+mph roll, the cobra takes the win. The camaro and trans am do have better top speed and takeoff but thats due to the increase in displacement. Once bored out, the cobra wins!!!
