  • I got this app and it was the money damn worth it. It's super fast, the 32bit graphic settings look just as real as on a normal PC and with the same speed. Controlling is also surprisingly good.

  • hey man please help how do i get it to work?

  • brainfucker...

  • The frist time u done this was it slow? Mine still says "please wait while connecting"

  • It would be cool if you was able to render it onto the phone ;D

  • omfg, I could have catia on my phone! why try to find a scientific calculator app when I can leave my computer on and use mathcad on my phone lol

  • Why does everyone seem to do their videos at night?

  • @ucheucheuche LOL I never realized that till you pointed that out!

  • There are no 3d cad viewer son android to my knowledge. There is a viewer/drawer for AutoCAD documents called AndCAD.

  • hey, i have a quick question. is there CAD viewer app for android?

  • This RDP client does have zoom functionality. Both tap to zoom and multitouch pinch to zoom.

  • For this to work over 3g, you need to know the external IP of your computer and also port forward external requests for port 3389 (the RDP Port). To get the external IP, set up a DYNDNS.org account and download their IP tracking app to your computer. To port forward, look for guides online.

  • isnt there and rdp client on android wich lets you zoom? It seems really diffucult to navigate like he does

  • why dopnt my damn posts ever send i need to know why this doesnt work on 3g but it does on wifi i cant get it to connect it says somethign like the server closed the connection

  • @cosmik3

I havent really figured it out either to work on 3g with my windows phone. But probably its because if you use wiki it connects locally. So the local ip wich i guess youre entering into the client will work. But with 3g its a global connection so local ip wont work. You have to know your external ip and enter that one. It havent worked for me though :)

  • quick question and forgive me if it is a simple one. I can use this on my phone to servers with public addreses with no problem. How can I connect to an internal workstation? something with a 192 address.... I must be missing something small. Let me know!

  • @phillykeith google VPN.

  • Very cool. However, I wouldn't advise port forwarding 3389. Really should setup an SSH Daemon on your PC, then tunnel in from the Droid with Connectbot app. Then use Xtralogic.

    More Secure that way.

  • What PC application (server) do you need for this remote desktop app?

  • ive been trying to connect my droid so i can use remote desktop on it but for some reason its not connecting. what settings did you change on your router and droid

  • i believe u need to open up 3389 TCP and UDP.

  • ya i did that and my droid still doesnt connect. for some reason when i go to change the remote settings, the option to allow me to allow people to connect remotely doesnt open

  • can i use ultimate?

    windows 7

  • RDP supports resolutions that your graphics card does not, because it bypasses the graphics card. ie. there are no accelerated graphics over RDP. Battery life isn't terrible, but I don't use it all day either.

  • Oh, and one little question, when you use that program constantly, what's the battery usage like? Thanks

  • You said you set your computer's screen to 854 x 480 so it would match the Droid's screen? How do you set your computer to an off standard resolution like that, my video card only shows the usual list of resolutions. I'm using Windows XP though, is this some option on Windows 7's RDP?

  • See the video description for the name of the android app. No software is needed on the PC, but a professional edition is usually required for remote desktop. It works great in a corporate environment, because nothing has to be installed. Try PhoneMyPC for a more complete solution that doesn't have the above restrictions.

  • Do you need the program on the droid and your computer or just your droid??? if i need computer program please post download link for me...

  • Do you need the program on the droid and your computer or just your droid???

  • could you watch like videos on this very well like it wont lag

  • No, remote desktop doesn't handle videos well, it can barely handle audio.

  • There are other apps better suited to controlling your iTunes library. I believe Androremote can control iTunes, but I haven't been able to get it working. For this app, it would work, but remote sound would have to be disabled(so sound stays on the laptop). Hope I helped. This app does sign into your computer. A WOL application is needed to wake a sleeping computer up.

  • so can this application control basically anything on your desktop comp? like itunes or something? i want to set it up so i can control my whole music library from anywhere in my house through a droid phone. that means stop, start, play, ff, rr, the whole works so if i am cruising my house listening to music i dont have to keep going back to my laptop to change it.

also, can this application turn on and let you sign in to your computer?? if not is there any app that will do that?

  • Ahahaha! When yours said "Droid" I looked down at my own Droid because I thought I had gotten a text!

Thanks for the app demo...looks like it works well.

  • Hah is that a Realflight dongle Eumlator on your desktop? Deff going to check this app out for my droid.

  • I believe it is encrypted. I think all 3G data is automatically encrypted by the cell provider (Verizon).

Sound works as well. It can be configured for mono or stereo to save bandwidth. Sound was a bit choppy at times though.

  • AMAZING! Tell me... 1) how did you get it to show the entire desktop? When I demo'd it at the verizon store my desktop spilled off the screen and I had to scroll around to see it all (I even played with the res setting on Remote desktop). 2) How did you get the mouse pointer to NOT be under your finger? When I tried it, I couldn't see what I was clicking because the pointer was under my finger tip??? Is this the Remote RDP app? or is there another app? THANKS sooo much!

  • This is not the free Remote RDP app. This is Xtralogic Remote Desktop. In the apps settings you can specify a whole range of resolution settings, one of them is "fit to device screen", which is what I have done for the above video.

The app is 18 dollars (unfortunately), however, it is the most reliable and RDP app i've tried. Phone my PC is another good one, but is in beta and has issues ($10). Phone my PC cannot drag windows on the DROID, which is a major flaw.
