  • Diana Quick is gorgeous.

  • HALTS EVERY 10-15 SECS-Impossbile to watch

  • @MegaPROSPECTS Youtube does that sometimes, when there are too many viewers...try giving it another go. It helps, at times, to bookmark the show, close out the window and restarting...or, just to try at a different time of day. I am watching this at about 130pm...and, it's not halting for me. Have a great day!

  • Choir practice!!!!

  • Oh, and I have the vocal score that the conductor (actually, composer Barrington Pheloung in a cameo) carries, and I can confirm what DQuindlen said.

  • I'm in this clip singing in the choir and leaving the church. lol. The bad thing is that ITV always cuts the choir scene when it's shown on ITV3, thereby rendering the beginning of the scene with Morse and Hilary meeting afterwards fairly meaningless. Pathetic really. It seems designed to gain more time for adverts.

  • @DQuindlen I've been listening Bach's Christmas Oratorio lately, this chorale sounds very familiar. ;)

  • Note the name on the cover of the man's scores at 3.22. It reads 'Bach' unmistakably. And it IS Bach. It's the 'Er kenne mich mein Huter' Chorale from St. Matthaus' Passion. Can't believe what you read, indeed! So much for knowing what you're talking about.

I absolutely adore this movement. Morse looks like an angel!

  • For me, I can identify with any character that enjoys 1.Faure In Paradisium, 2. A classic Jag, 3.Real Ale, 4. Correct Grandma, 5.Crosswords, 6.Wagnerian Opera, 7. anything with John Thaw... very grateful to you for the upload, Sean Bean comes from my neck of the woods, Sheffield/Rotherham...

  • Correct Grandma??

  • Correct language, perhaps?

  • "Who will guard the Gods" came from Danton?

  • He said: "Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?" which means "who guards the guards themselves". It's an old Latin phrase (from Juvenal) but goes back to Plato and Socrates. The version "Who watches the watchmen?" is more common nowadays even if this translation is not entirely correct.

  • Isn't that wife somewhat to old for her prison-hubby??

  • @jlaurson He's definitely too young & hot for her!

  • Does anyone know the title of the piece Morse is singing with the choir? It appears in instrumental form on a Art of Noise CD.

  • I sing it with my choir ocassionally..it's J.S. Bach's chorale work, but I have no title or number for it; in Polish version first line is something like : when I am abandoned, you do not abandon me, but original (German) version they sing may be much different

  • Ah well at least I know now that it's Bach. Thank you very much for replying.

  • It's actually the chorale from St Matthew Passion by J. S. Bach. Enjoy the listening :)

  • Yep, and the extract in the car is from the St Matthew Passion also: it's the tenor aria, no. 26, I *think*.

  • We sang it in english at school "How shall I fitly meet thee and give the welcome due..." they had some great cast in Morse.

  • This is my favorite part of this episode. I love Morse.

  • Thanks!! Please post more!!! PLEASE!!!

  • Thanks for the latest instalment. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

  • You have to upload more!! I want to know what happens!! Thanks for uploading. :)
