Wow. Such violence. that must hurt having your hand ripped off. I just love those Critter puppets. I did read somewhere that a new Critter film was to be set during Christmas, or something like that. But I guess that was false, or the idea was dropped.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you ask if something is a "prop". Any physical object in a movie is a "prop". The critter at 4:10 is a latex puppet AND a prop.
great vid man ive seen all ur movie parts on critters and wow great job u should try out for scfi movies and possibley see if you could get them to make a critters 5 cause in the end of 4 when charlie messed with the ship they did go back further into space great job
man Ive been watching all the parts of your film and I got to say good stuff. Some of the dialog had me laughing so hard! I guess my only suggestion would have been was to have eliminated all of the characters except the protagonist and the critters. The other guys death was funny, and I suppose you needed somewhat of a body count, but I think it would have been pretty neat to see more of a survivalist element to it film. Awesome short though.
Good point. You definitely seem to understand the direction I was taking it. Unlike most people, you understood that the dialog was supposed to be silly/funny. Glad to hear you liked it!! You appreciated it for exactly what is was ment to be.
Huh? Only one hand was shown removed, then it crawled around. Later, another hand is shown tossed in the air, along with a foot. This is supposed to be the same hand. This guy's death scene is played out long on purpose to generate laughs. I had to rewatch it though, as I too was looking for 3 hands.
This video is really old. I started shooting it in 2001. I used Final Cut Pro 1.2 to do most of the compositing and editing. Video editing has come a long way since then. I bought Final Cut Pro 1.2 back in 2000 for $1000. A lot of what you see here preceeds most of the nice, cheap, and intuitive programs that exist today. Oh, I also used AlamDV for some shots too.
The critters you see in this short film come from a personal collection of mine. The budget of this short came mostly from the puppets themselves. The cheapest cost me $200, and the most expensive cost $3500.
Thanks! I think. I'm a big Critters fan (80's film fan), so yes, I am aware of Critters 4. I don't have a crew, or sets, or much of anything other than myself. Occasionally, I steal a sound effect from somewhere, or a piece of music. From editing, to putting together models, acting, music, painting, cinematography, etc, etc. Sometimes sound gets screwed up or a shot doesn't line up right, or my computer messes up leaving some problems in the film.

Your little films are alright but they need prfessionalism unless you were simply fan filming. As a film student and somebody who has often worked on sets and productions I tend to push for professionalism. If you have a good crew, it isn't that hard.

You did a good job on this fan video, man, as campy as it is.
The critters puppets you did are amazing, and I'm really inspired to try and design my own puppets.
I wrote a script for a Gremlins vs. Critters fan movie.. The only thing holding me back are the puppets.
I have no idea where to even begin, or if the project would even be worth pursuing.
