  • Its time NOW for all of us to find our VOICE . SILENCE no more . WATCH : THE MILLITARY KNOWS ISRAEL DID 911 , on YouTube .

  • Comment removed

  • @Mike2020able Are you sure??? Do you know what you are saying?? America MAY have allowed 911 to happen to take away our freedom and justify an energy war because we are past Peak Oil. This makes more sense. If you blame M.O.S.S.A.D you MUST blame the president of the United States as well. If the US Military Knew. The US Military is guilty of Murder and the US Military answers to the President. They call Him Commander and Chief! That’s where the BUCK stops

  • Make this song viral. GO NOW!

  • @TexasDSi Post the URL to all of the Occupy groups on FB

  • As long as the MANY choose to be fuel for the FEW - it will be so - when the MANY can cast off the archaic ways of old they will find these FEW absent as well as their legislated forms of oppression. I was born without government & religion --> (PREFABRICATED BELIEF SYSTEMS - YOU CAME TO ZERO CONCLUSIONS ON YOUR OWN - YOU BENT OVER AND ACCEPTED ANOTHER' CONCLUSIONS UP YOUR BACKSIDE CUZ YOU SAW THOSE YOU TRUSTED THE MOST DOING THE SAME THING - SHEEP!!! • Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind...

  • Please watch my story"TIFFANY LEBOUEF SEEKS JUSTICE". I have documents to prove my innocence yet no one wants to even acknowledge it. My life has been destroyed.

Look up PRISON STOCKS....very lucrative....WHO ARE THE INVESTORS???

I HOPE NOT THE JUDGES AND POLITICIANS.......

  • Occupy has made life worth living <3

  • @WemmiLinks mtv cookie cutter shit groups will make vague references to the movement. you know that even after the clint eastwood ad for chrysler was cut to not show pro-union signs in detroit, the cocksucking likes of karl rove and other right wingers still bitched about it. the right to collective bargaining and congress allowed to regulate commerce parts of the constitution must have been ignored.

  • His words speak to my heart, they express what I feel . And his expression mirrors the same determination I feel . I intend to occupy everything and will not stop till we change the laws that allow to control our political system. Justice is done and the ones that have robbed us behind bars.

  • @WemmiLinks thats a bit harsh!!!would you have us sit in front of a fucking video game smoking incense and bitching at mom for a bigmac??My god,at least were capable of holding a conversation for longer then 2 min with whipping out our god damn cell phones!!!Have you ever talked to a women to her face or do you just textgasm??

  • Yaaaaay!

    Now do Lemmiwinks!

  • Amazing!! Thank you Makana. You have another fan.

  • Vincelees I am under 45. I am under 30. The younger generation is aware contrary to what you think. Our future has been stolen. And we are here to claim it back.

  • Incidentally, I am a Christian.

  • Nice voice, but people ought to stop falling for these planted damage limitation government shrills. COME ON, THE OTHER HAS BELLS ON IT! No way would the bodguards have let him sing for 20 minuits in the shite house - they'd have bundled him out after the first two lines. WAKE UP!

  • Research Frank O'Collins and realize how the pulled the wool over your eyes.

  • ok i thought the video was ok until he showed that foreign usa flag

  • THE WARS ARE OVER

    if you want it

  • Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. ! My Thoughts exactly ! Good On Ya Mate !

    ' Makana ! your a Bloody Legend ! Nice Lyric's ...............

  • Wow!

  • a good man! the energy is comparable to the energy and reality of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez....original and from the heart!

  • Looking at the statistics of views I see only people over 45 years visiting. Where are the young people? Are only the people of the 60's protest movements embracing this Dylanesque song?

  • sounds strikingly similar to bob dylans the times they are a changin

  • Feel like dancing.

  • i'll co-sign this one! glad to see other fellow recording artists spreading a message!

  • This is real talk. It is not speculation. These are true events.

  • I do believe that some voters in this country are slightly masochistic.

  • Control the vote, vote out the control! =D

  • the times they area changin, Bob dylan, it's similar to this song =P

  • This should be number one video. By the way, none of the candidates or the president can change what is going on. The people have to do it. If over half the country can voice out and occupy the cities, then we will have a better country. SOL, Sons of Liberty. People should unite under that.

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • Get out the vote, vote out the scum! =D

  • Revolution !!!

  • I've found an alternative...the Justice Party...closer to my thinking than Republicans, Democrats or Libertarians

  • @alohakakou2u Amen Alleluhia

  • We gotta get out the vote to vote out the control! Then we can change the way things are. Vote out the 1%, vote in the 99! =D

  • THE BIDDING OF THE MANY AND NOT THE JEWS

  • Join us! We are the watchmen of america. I can't post the link here but you can google us.

  • OWS must come up with some REAL demands immediately. They are going to lose momentum because people are still asking what do they want? US just sent thousands of troops to Israel...they got WAR with Iran on their minds, and still not one word out of OWS.

  • @spktruth2012 I think its been said many times but ok... stop foreclosures, student loan reform, jail wall street thugs, bailout people not banks, repeal citizens united, money out of politics, etc, etc, etc

  • @MrTVintro I don't think jail is the answer. "Imprison them in the name of freedom" tastes bitter on my tongue. Teach and love.

/and I'm an athiest too! LOL

  • @siyuntz I'm an Atheist, as well.. and I'm ALL in favor of throwing these bankstas and political hacks so far under the jails that they will NEVER see the light of day, again!! Anton LaVey said: "Do not waste love on ingrates".. These people who have made a career out of screwing over the public in order to scrape-off a few more million dollars do not deserve ONE DAMN BIT of our love!!!

  • Thanks for the upload....made my playlist(s)!!

  • Thx for the upload! In my top 10 OWS songs of all time:-)

  • I like this song. I have been waiting for the voice of this generation to emerge. ???

  • I no longer support either of our 2 party. system.2 me, Both parties are riddled w/corruption. 94% of Politicians are bought. I don't want to vote 4 pepsi or coke. I'm looking for pure H20. MSM is corporate puppets managed by 6 corps PROPAGANDA machines. Our Government, Banking, Large Corps, The Fed, MSM, lobbyists, Wall Street need 2 be separated.

  • Love it!

  • Great Occupy anthem!

  • Beautiful

  • Sounds like the Occupy Anthem to me. Woot!

  • OweBama's

    Worthless

    Socialists

  • love you

  • My favorite song yet to come out of this movement (that I've heard). I'm in Canada, but the theme is still valid and true.

  • What a beautiful song!

  • Thank you for your music. Sharing on Twitter and Facebook. So important. Stay strong. And thank you again and again.

  • Best wishes to you and your family over the holiday season Makana! Congratulations on your Rolling Stone article.

Keep up the good fight! We will endure, we will persevere.

  • Very well done, Makana

  • Way to go! Would have made me cry if I had let it.

  • Hope to see you at Washington DC Freedom Plaza.....soon...let us know and we'll make the pilgramage to be there. ;)

  • As long as there is unfaire wealth distrubition, as long as the 1% families continued getting

300% profit during the last 25years, and are not yet taxed by the Govt.properly...This song

    has great power!!

  • @soltube8 No one should be taxed on income, period. It makes no difference HOW much you make, you keep what you make, no one has the right to take what is not theirs. Period.

  • @DABIGRAGU1 If you say so, why they drive on the roads and use everything built by the taxpayers income? Without properly taxed??If you look at deeply income can solve broad social problems. Period.

  • @DABIGRAGU1 Wow, dude, what century are you lurching around in? Just how the heck do you think you'd make all that income you don't want taxed if not for public roads, community police, the protection provided by public firefighters, and coworkers, employees, and/or customers educated by public schools, enlightened through public libraries, and kept active by public parks. Taxes, in case you hadn't noticed, are how we get those aspects of our society that make us a civilized society.

  • @TheAim1977 Well my friend all those amenities are a necessity to our life, you're right. I had specifically stated 'income tax'. If you dig deeper you'll find taxing one's income does not pay for the above. Income tax is sent directly to the Federal Reserve to pay the interest on their debt for issuing fiat currency. It's original inception was to create a war booty for the government and mop up the public's excess spending money in 1913. The Federal Reserve changed the game. Aloha

  • @DABIGRAGU1 My understanding is that the majority of federal income tax goes to social security, medicare, and defense. In addition, they pay for food and nutrition programs and housing assistance, and such expenses as retirement pensions for federal workers. I'm no fan of the enormous portion of our budget that goes to "defense" and I wish we'd do something serious to reign in the cost of health care. But it is not as if all income tax is evil on principle.

  • @TheAim1977 Some of it does go to those areas, but the majority (over 85%) does go to pay the interest on the debt of the Federal Reserve. Interesting piece on Social Security, it was self sufficient and growing up until our Congress agreed to raid it years ago to pay for their pet 'projects' and balancing the budget, promising to pay it back yet never have. If SS only went to beneficiaries who paid into the system it would NEVER be under funded with enough to benefit future gens.

  • @DABIGRAGU1 So, I won't keep bugging you (I appreciate your civil tone) but do want to say: your original comment clearly argued against all income taxes. In fact, your comment, "you keep what you make. No one has the right to take what's not theirs," seems to argue against ALL taxes. How would you propose we pay for all the things we collectively require as a modern society (like those we've discussed), if not through taxes of one sort or another?

  • @TheAim1977 Taxes on income are taxes on labor or services many see, as did our forefathers, unjust. The Constitution forbids taxes on an individual's labor. Taxes on use/purchases more than cover for ex: Gasoline tax exceeds the cost of roads and maint., not income tax. Bond initiatives are also used for infrastructure. Sales tax is a point of purchase tax which is used to fund city/county employees. IF City/County/Fed coffers were used and not raided by politicians, need I say more

  • @DABIGRAGU1 When you start to research the accounting of our country's tax system you soon find our tax's are being squandered, there is no accountability, it's out of control. Taxing income is merely a control device governments use. If you knew how much tax money was actually in city accounts while the city is claiming bankruptcy, you'd be simply astonished. It's all available IF you know where to look. We've been lied to, this will help:/watch?v=bn3hUcmNDdA

  • @TheAim1977 To sum it up, you might find "The Money Masters" a very enlightening video series, I believe it's free to view on YT or elsewhere, take it little by little. The producers are a very respectable, accurate and knowledgeable group. Take care, good luck and most of all I thank you for your kind response. Mahalo & Aloha my friend.

  • Seriously I never liked any of his music until he did this song. I only say that because most of it is just not my style. This song is amazing, and for all of you that compare him to Bob Dylan and think thats some kind of slight against him, you do understand that this is the movement of our era, every era, deserves music and people, hell a voice like this man to stand and make a difference across the airwaves. To compare him to Bob Dylan is correct, he is a man who will move people.

  • @hernemithras @7chicagogreen Yup you got me. Enjoy your aids.

  • @MrDeekaph stop insulting two great musicians and their songs just because you are in conflict over your feelings for the 'dreamy deep brown eyes' of Makana. Fail Troll is Fail.

  • This song is a wholesale ripoff of Bob Dylan - he did this almost fifty years ago, and did it without wanting to make stupid teenage girls fall in love with his dreamy deep brown eyes.

  • @MrDeekaph and when was it that you wrote a song and had teenage girls fall in love with you? Me thinks you are an angry little man

  • @MrDeekaph

Fifty years ago, now its a different time and people need a new song

  • @ilovemoneyalot101 Sure. A NEW song it should be.

  • @ilovemoneyalot101 please send me the link to the songs you wrote

  • @7chicagogreen

Think you have me confused with someone else I din't write a song

  • @MrDeekaph: who -cares- who influences this work, or even if it IS a "wholesale ripoff"? This is a voice for today, for OUR generation, and for the next 50 years of OUR struggle. Does the word UNITY mean anything to you..?

  • @GreenRad2012

    Amen, brother.

  • OWS is going to be what the people make it. I hope we can focus on things that will help all 7 Billion Humans, flying through space on Beautiful Mother Earth.

  • @forty911 Please google 'IMOW Breaking Free' and 'Deep Conscious Capitalism'

  • But on other thing: Communities should study how to set up the Worker Ownership of the Mondragon Cooperative, of the Basque in Spain. There is an Evergreen Cooperative in Cleveland, and Richmond California, is putting people to work by starting smaller Cooperatives. Its a better way to work. Don't we all want that?

  • @forty911 And need we mention that ending the wars is a must. Why the hell not close all over seas Military Bases, and put the Vets, and others to work rebuilding this Broken Promised Land?

  • @forty911 Since we need sound money, which we have never had, lets gt out of the Fed. The best way I've hard to do that, is to follow what North Dakota has been doing fine with for 90 years, with its State Bank. Other States are studying how to do it.

If we don't fix Healthcare, the price will double in 10 years, probably with less care. Vermont's and Montana's Single Payer could very well be worth other States checking out.

  • Brilliant!!

  • Nice song. I hope it isn't too little too late. Now where did I leave that guillo- er, nevermind.

  • Great Job !!! American't are Sleeping LOL

  • Great Job !!!

  • Never heard of you until I heard about you playing this song at APEC. Ballsy as hell. I like the tone and rhythm of your music. You've got a new fan in me. Keep up the great work.

  • A magnificent song. A beautiful and wonderful song.

  • America is looking more like Nazi Germany every day. Those who think they are being a patriot because they stand behind our children that are being used to keep the greedy no good politicians safe are stupid. You go back in time and ask the men that fought to make this country free what a patriot is. You will have to wake up some day, why not make it today?

  • @RedneckDeerhunter252 And the politicians want to cut medicare, so that our WWII vets won't be able to live in the country they fought so hard to protect. =/

  • -_- "Our government is not for sale. The banks do not deserve a bail." The banks didn't get any "bail" you hipster retards! The Federal Reserve Banks that were "bailed out" are the ones who imbue imaginary wealth into the dollar via military coercion. The "bail outs" were taxes with interest levied on Americans! There is no mythical freemarket! We have a transnational Politburo banking regime that has decided to shift all productivity eastward. America is a sodomized and murdered whore.

  • @PrimeConsciousness -america and it's people are SLEEPING LOL

    Martial Law is Coming

  • This song's just "Times are a Changing" but not as clever...

  • @dgfilmdoc and what songs have you written that are better than this?

  • I like it, although it kind of falls into the populist fantasy that capitalists and other property owners e.g. slave owners and landlords didn't always control the political State 'back in the good old days'. The only way for the many to gain power is to organise themselves as a class to take, hold and operate the means of production for themselves.

  • ... for the times they-are-a-changing .. i kept waiting for him to say it, but he didn't. At least give a nod to Bob Dylan who did this before you?

  • Fuck you iTunes for not having this song on your store.

  • @GigglesThatJiggles

    Au Contraire.

Let's hope the iTunes fascists never get the right to control, stifle, and censor this song.

  • Holycrap! I'm ready to get off my lazy butt and march! You nailed it, sir!

  • I really like this song. Occupy International should here this

  • Excellent !!!!!

  • I believe you were a feature at 1st thursdays! Kealoha was hosting? I loved it, thank you for performing, I think you inspired everyone there!!! You're an amazing artist.

  • THIS IS THE GLOBAL ANTHEM FOR THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT....NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. GREAT WORK!!

  • Takes some guts to occupy a state dinner. Well done, Makana, in the scope of what you have done. Good song, great lyrics, and one hell of a performance.

    This is some viral stuff.

WE THE PEOPLE ORDER YOU TO STAND DOWN.

PUBLIC SERVANTS WILL SUBMIT TO THE WILL OF THE SOVEREIGN CITIZENS OF THIS NATION, OR ELSE.

The strength and power of despotism consists wholly in the fear of resistance.

A covenant not to defend myself from force by force is always void.

  • @Bruce1949919 says, "Another stupid song for a stupid ideal. It isn't working folks, Makana is nuts and no one paid attention to him in Hawaii."

@Bruce1949919 says that he's tired of watching the Occupy "people making fools of themselves". If Bruce favors America's corrupt ZionCorp Government, then Bruce should be pleased to see Protestors making fools of themselves. How can Bruce explain this contradiction without admitting that he's a ZionCorp shill?

  • Yes this is an inspiring song! Hopefully it will help motivate people and get that attitude that we are not going to take it anymore!

  • I put this in my occupy wall street music play-list. Your in good company.

  • 3:33

I so adore that photo. It brings me to tears. The idea that it represents makes me weep like a baby at the thought that true change is possible.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!! You have succeeded in authentically re-creating the sound and spirit of the late 19th and mid 20th century folk-music movement! PERFECT!!

  • I heard this in my education course at Brooklyn College! Gotta love good teachers and great music. If you look you can find great music just as easily as you can find accurate information on OWS. IF YOU LOOK!

  • Excellent song! I was wondering where the voice of occupy was. As a child of the 60's the music industry was the voice that drove the anti war protests. Thank you for standing up and giving voice to the occupy movement. I have renewed faith and hope now. Long may you run!

  • .... Every new regulation concerning commerce or revenue, or in any way affecting the value of the different species of property, presents a new harvest to those who watch the change, and can trace its consequences; a harvest, reared not by themselves, but by the toils and cares of the great body of their fellow-citizens. This is a state of things in which it may be said with some truth that laws are made for the FEW, not for the MANY. - Publius Federalist #62

  • Absolutely AWESOME!

Love and LIGHT to EVERY BRAVE EARTH SOLDIER WITHIN THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT.

    Thank you!!!

    ~South Africa~

  • Can we bring Darfur over here? I wanna rape, rob, and pillage like you guys propose.

    Please?

  • @dude4gold Huh? I must have missed something here.

  • No, I got the link to this from M Taylor. But he may have gotten it elsewhere.

  • This song is for the 58% hard working people that have had it geared inthe right direction, not the 99 % or the 1% . You want action take it to Washington "99" Learn the words "DON"T TREAD ON ME" Paint your signs WE WANT OUR EPA FEE"S BACK , END THE FEDERAL RESERVE, Secure our borders, Balance our budget, Cut backs or get out, If your 80 you don't need to be in our congress, Paychecks for congress 40,000 not 174,000, no more full pensions, no back door secrets for their millions to be made..

  • GREAT PIPES & a direct message: CONGRESS! LISTEN, YO! ^..^

  • @ridovem They did, the tea party shook them up and kicked many of them out. For strait constitutionalism believers. Look at the record moved. Don't trust what I say look look for your self. Funny part those 99'ers occupiers are spouting some of the same things as the Tea party people do. Occupy leaves behind a mess and the tea party people clean up after them selves lol Just different caring class of people I guess. I do not belong to either group just avid observer.

  • Posted links to a new Makana video interview with song performance by Civil Beat and a definitive article on the Occupy With Aloha Action above in "info".

  • Thank you for the song Makana.

My dad was born in 1937 and wants to know "what they want." I think you have many of the main "wants" in the song.

Everyone: Please remember what Chomsky said in Liberty: you've got to r/teach the "main stream." Many citizens don't know what's happened/ing and are rightly focused on immediate/daily family problems. We have to r/teach the main stream (& money) who are boomers--the 60's generation and X'ers like myself ('65). Save the lost; ignore the swine.

  • @email4timothy I like that "Save the lost, ignore the swine"; doesnt come up on google. Very good original wisdom.

  • "Times are changing" - Bob Dylan.......IT'S THE SAME!

  • I don't like the song, it says nothing to me about my life. This is not the 60's, and it 'feels's and sounds like a Simpsonsesque parody of a bygone era's 'protest' songs. It rips off the themes and style of three distinct songs 'moments of our lives' is one, and two other Guthrie and Dylan songs. All in all, egomaniacal overexposure of singer's face, etc etc etc.

  • @hep48 I don't think you are getting it, did you try listening to the message he is sending, without worrying about what other songs have a similar message, or what "era" we are in. Just enjoy an honest man, speaking honesty, it is quite refreshing really.

  • @kruegs2525 So is John Lennon's Revolution song try listening to it, he was hanging with Gandhi at the time of writing it. This song has an even larger message but.......... to the occupiers, 99'ers.
