These stories are interesting but some things are stupid too, the king wouldnt just go horse riding with his new bride without soldiers, why on earth would you enter an unknown cave looking for water, best place would be a river or a well, and anyway a king would carry food and beverage with him, why would a king who has an army fear a rakshahs!!

@indrajeet It's a story, which betaal concocted so as to be able to pose a question to Vikram. Doesn't need to be realistic.

@whatshata I heard that the stories known collectively as Baital Pachisi were compiled by the poeet Somdev Bhatt in the 11th century but come from much more anceint material.
