  • So does each PC run its own folding client or does the whole thing run as one computer?

  • Why don't you fold on CPU? It'd cost much cheaper in terms of power consumption and it produces much more ppd/watt. Nice setup btw! Fold on! My current goal is 1 mil :D

  • @tringuyen552911 I don't think he is worried about the electricity bill. =p

  • do you also fold with the cpu?

  • @afonso360 no, on his HFM stats, it only shows GPUs

  • Do you overclock cards to get extra performance?

  • Great work, and you could also sell time as a render farm.

It must be dissipating over 6 KW. How do you keep it cool?

  • Wow it's beautiful

  • Biomed / Med student here. This machine is an incredible resource, if you have it at home you might talk to stanford about donating it to them, something like this might be more effectively used on site rather than remotely. Plus for what you'd save on your energy bills you might be able to donate a second machine.

  • This system draws about 13k watts constantly. Yall should join us on team 36167 fold on!

  • I loved the farm but i must admit that the last thing that crossed my mind was...ELECTRIC BUILD!

  • @rick62008 BILL!

  • a gtx295 has 2 gpus onboard, then they aint connected into sli, they are used separately right? also according to nvidia's software catalog the client doesnt even support sli.

  • how did u connect all the pcs to an network? i noticed the little machine in between two of the computers. what is that?

  • What OS version are you using and what software do you need to control all those rigs?

  • what would be more reliable...

GPU folding on 64MB Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440 (over clocked to

306 GPU and 495 MEM clock

    -or-

    cpu folding on a Intel(yuck) pentium 4 cpu @ 2.53GHz

  • lol I love how the microphones gets the exhaust from the video card fans, sounds like you're taping outside in a hurricane lol

  • nice little bomb fire there ,,, must be good in winter

  • whats with the system at the bottom with one card and aftermarket cooler?

  • I hope you have airconditioning in that room.

  • then another 4 secs later...

  • un-plugged 4 pin at 1:25 ????

i cant tell but it looks as it is...

  • Icey. ahh you got good eyes. and you are both wrong, and right. the cable he uses is in fact a splitted 8-pin connector. some motherboards use 8-pins and some uses for. his motherboard uses 4. so the other one get's hanging outside.

  • like i could tell from a shit camera and far away video! :X

  • the video is in 720p...

  • @Iceyclamp yup. looks like they have a 4+4 pin cord off there power supply and only need 4 for the mobo.

  • how did you connect all those motherboards and card together?

  • @uut0 He didn't. There's 4 cards per motherboard and they're all running a folding client which submits and receives data from the internet.

  • is that a PS3 at the top of the rack at 1:14 ? what purpose does it serve?

  • that can fold too... xD

  • I love how you can actually hear the wind affecting the microphone... Lots of air moving there!

  • How come only a single card on the bottom? :P

  • HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM

  • how can you get sure what all of GPU loaded at full and none of it is idle?

btw, why 295 instead of tesla?

  • tesla is a a hell of lot more expensive and only half the power

  • oh, i see now. but why somebody buy tesla than?

  • its for businesses. not designed for home users

  • the bottom 295 looks lonely :D

  • how many fps on crysis with maxxed out settings?? JK

Now thats a Fucking System!! Guess Maxishine will have to do a update after seeing this rig!!

  • do you make your own drivers for these?

  • Who is paying the electricity bills?

  • @Controlremotehp anyone that can afford that kind of setup, doesnt give a damn about power bills. lol

  • it will explode soon xD

  • cant that motherboard go quad crossfire?

  • No u need another Chipset with an AMD FX790 or GX790 Chipset to do that. This Mainboard has a NVidia Chipset (780a SLI) and is only for SLI.

  • what's up with the ps3 on the top?

  • You can fold with that to ;)

  • oh,ok. thanks

  • Is the PS3 used as another unit in the cluster or does it coordinate?

  • it folds. so its another folding unit. not a coordinating unit.

  • PS3 fold less then 1000PPD ,and PS3 cost more then 300$ .

    a old 9600GSO fold 3000-4000 PPD for 65-70$

    GTX295 get about 10,000-12,000 PPD for 500-600$

  • You're doing a great thing and even though you know it i'd like to say that is indeed inspiring and quite amazing.

I don't need to say more.

  • What team do you fold for?

  • HUNT-DIS, the team specific to my father's disease. 36167 - Jason

  • @AtlasFolder what is this with blu LEDs ??

  • Looks great 5/5

  • jeah good video

  • Keep on folding! If i had a better system or maybe another system I would fold 24/7 ON IT! and Man Gotta love the HUGE HUGE rack! 5/5 and fav!
