This only confirms my opinin about UK crowds... went to Metallica in the O² in London 2 years ago, everyone was standing with their cameras trying to film the show! To a point where James Hetfield asked the crowd to put their cameras away and enjoy the show.

That's right, the Led Zeppelin compilation. It wouldn't take a great leap of idiocy from someone to put this together and think you guys were Led Zep doing a secret gig, especially if you were a more or less anonymous band who were on the line up for a major UK festival.

I wonder if the abysmal behaviour of some of the Reading fans was to do with not knowing that the acts on that stage are simply little unknown bands who have been given a great opportunity.
It's something that's happened at Leeds for a few years but not at Reading 'til this time around. Music promotions company Futuresound holds a competition each year and its panel selects a number of UNSIGNED acts to play on what used to be called the 'Sounds Unsigned' stage. Perhaps its renaming, and its sudden appearance at Reading, is partially responsible for the disgusting behavior of these fans towards acts who will have been amazed to even have been playing at such a large festival.

Last year at v they played on a smaller stage under the name of 606 at midday, so foos playing under the name of ff'ers at reading with tenacious d and queens of the stage with rumours before the festival of dave grohl drumming for tenacious d isnt really that far fetched now is it???

to be honest, anyone who honestly thought that the organisers would risk putting one of the biggest bands in the world in a tiny area surrounded by stalls etc is a retard! It would be the most dangerous thing at any festival ever. The Foos are rumoured every year, but this year was the most obvious that it wasnt true.
And bottling a band just because they sound similar to another band is a disgrace. Bastards!

This is a thing that's been happening at Leeds for a while now, but for the first time at Reading this year.
There's a competition each year run by music promotion company Futuresound. Their panel selects a number of entries to play at the festival. I wonder if the abysmal behaviour of some of the Reading fans was to do with not knowing that the acts on that stage are simply little unknown bands who have been given a great opportunity.
