Urban Assault — Intro Movie

You only have to enter the host station in one of the turrets before they destroy you (or when the life bar of your base is in red) and stop pressing F8 (or F7) and as your base is destroyed you will be mounted on one of the bases that are in the game (the mission)

In this way you can control the most powerful 2 bases in the game I mean the Queen and engañante Sulgogar Black Sect Station.

Trancear bases: If you were left with the desire to use the host station of your enemies in a normal game (not multiplayer) follow these steps (you can only use the host station until you finish the mission. The following will start again host your normal station but if you put in the beam gate the ships of another host station, which you stole, you can use it in the next posting):

if I see this I want to start playing again, i have it and I love it! The need to make a new urban assault but should it be so good like first game...?! The first time long long long ago when i played this and it wos so difficult... but when i became better in it, it was the best game ever and i played for hours and creating big army's to send out for battle.

I used to play this game for hours and hours. I love the idea of being able to play it from your base or go directly t the action. It's sad this game did have have a good secuel.

i still have this game lost it years ago but torrented it. unfortuanally my torrent had a problem my helacopters wont respond to my commands and they just go in to a retarded spin. this game is so kickass i cant recall another game which allows to me create my units then actually just double click them to go directly in them and take controll and kick ass on the front lines. thats why this game is so kick ass.

@jason4852 True! I don't know of any other game that lets you do that, combining strategy and first person action.

btw... there IS a patch to fix the helicopters-think-they're-tops issue... i'll try and dig it up from my UA stash and put it up somewhere in the web for download =)

The files in the zip should be placed in the data/scripts folder in the UA folder.

As always, make backups of the originals, just in case

@jason4852 -location=...\Urban Assault\Data\Scripts : file name=user.scr : make backup copy of file in case you mess it up, open original file in notepad, search for key word HELI in a Model Field (line says "model = heli") and the first entry will be for the WASP, about 9 lines down from there is another variable called MAXROT, it's value is 1.5 (line says "maxrot = 1.5"), change that value to 5.0 (only the digits), repeat for KNUDDEL, LAWNMOWER, & LAURIN, then save file and play. Easy!

Sin duda UA no se vendió tan bien como esperaban. Ese debió ser el factor decisivo.

Recordemos que UA se lanzó el mismo año que otros grandes juegos de géneros similares, como Age of Empires-The Rise of Rome (también de MS) y Starcraft y su expansion set Brood War.

Just get bit torrent and download it... i also have a original copy but the cd has a crack in it so it's not usable and i downloaded the unreleased expansion pack Metropolis dawn still a pretty fun game 10 years on

mmm.. it was not a common interface for those days, but i wouldn't say it was bad; in fact it may have been innovative.

It also depends on which version you've played: The one that appears in the training videos sure looks weird...

yes Erazer90, it seems like an early version of the game... looks rather unfinished... but those are the ones that came with the final game: I don't have any betas or anything... maybe they got a bit lazy in the end?

Its interface was very innovative, unlike the same old story in other games.

1. You could see how your squads were made up at a glance. You didn't have to try and remember what you assigned to 'ctrl 1' or 2 or 3.

2. You could easily mix and match squads.

3. You could also easily set the behaviour of the squads (everything from 'retreat' to 'agressive'.)

4. You could easily jump into a squad and directly point out what should be done.

UA was about strategy. Not about how quickly you could press buttons or how well you could remember the squad make-ups. But unfortunately everybody is used to the same old story that was seen ever since WarCraft (or the very first Dune?) Everybody always whines about orginality, but when it comes, nobody supports it.

This game was recalled and taken off the shelves in 1999 (for God only knows) And now it's "Abandonware"
