I had this happen many times... Not because I wasn't paying attention but cus we had a fail tank.

why would a mage even go fire unless its for pvp? frost, best all-purpose and very nice in pvp. arcane, good all-purpose. maybe best raider due to threat levels.

fire - decent for soloing, HORRIBLE for groupage.

this is 2007 info, dont know about how thigns are nowadays but thats how it was in 07

Frost - Pvp strictly

Arcane - Pvp / Pve (perfect all purpose)

Fire - Semi good pve / Decent Pvp depending on your mana.

@manna887 lol, you WANTED a frost mage in WoW origional for raids, especially for MC, then fire, now arcane, i play frostin raids and i match deeps with arcane, and btw, the rotation for arcane mages is, arcane blast x4, arcane missles. While you not only have frostbolt, but deep freeze, fireball (or frostfire bolt), see the difference, here. Frost FTW!!!

Technically, no he didn't.  He pulled aggro with opening scorches and fireballs, then realized the tank was fail and started wanding.

So yeah, he pulled aggro WHILE wanding, but not BECAUSE of wanding, if that makes sense.

Iceblock doesn't remove aggro, never has. It has the same threat mechanics as a pally bubble. Threat remains, you just become immune.

Invisibility, however, does remove aggro.

"Divine Shield" is the paladin's bubble it wipes all aggro from it your prolly thinking of the paladin shield wall that reduces damage taken by 60%

Yes, it's a temporary aggro immunity. But when it wears off, you retain the same aggro you had before applying it. So, no, it isn't a true aggro "wipe" like vanish or invis.

And what you notice here is a dose of honesty. The Pyro mage admitting he was wrong. The very nature of fire is to cook things, and you have to keep an eye on threat. Fire is not more viable thanArcane and they need to learn it.

Thanks for posting this Chellarvi. It's nice to restate the obvious from time to time. I'm surprised there aren't more comments like wtb tank, or that tank can't hold aggro, blah blah, when in fact, most well geared dps classes can pull aggro if they try hard enough. It takes a responsible player to say, "aw crap, I hit that thing a bit to hard", instead of saying l2p tank :D

Yeah tell me about it, escpecially as an arcane fire mage with huge crits, and the only way to drop aggro is invisibility which is on a 5 minute cooldown >.<
