Lightning storm in Atlanta (looking over the airport)

Awesome lightning show from the real distant. sunlit Tstorm cloud you've nicely videotaped..... You were asking about why if there is no noise from the lightning..all because the distance for the lightning's thunder is far too distant to hear the thunder..since normally....lightning's thunder averages only 10 to 12 miles...although on 3/5/01..I heard thunder form a bolt that struck over 20 miles away...up here in southern RI.
