  • at :45 isn't that Return to Fractalus?

  • whats the name of first song?

Atari this is a good history! )

  • blokuja ci kanaly:)

  • @pilat1977 co?! :)

  • haha. thanks for that. I wrote one of those games. Bubble Trouble. The one in the bath tub with the rubber duck. I recognized about 14 of the other games. you can see the rest of my Atari games on my website: wisdomcore (dot) com

  • whats the name of the end tune, it starts at 7:48 to the end, it sounds phat!

  • the track is called EPLE, and it's from a norwegian group called ROYKSOPP. Their first album was a hit in northern europe :)

  • with the exception of burger chef, I dont remember any of those games.

  • Jak nazywała się gra "zabawa w chowanego?" - gorsza grafika chyba była czarno-biała . . .

I nie "Ride Over Moscow" tylko "Raid Over Moscow"...:)

  • No wlasnie wersja ktora prezentuje w filmie, to Behind Jaggy Lines. To mniej wiecej te same roznice co miedzy 'The Last Starfighter', a 'Star Raiders 2', lub 'Montezuma's Revenge', a 'Preliminary Monty'...

Raid Over Moscow - racja :D juz poprawiam

  • What's the 6:30 funky tune ? :)

  • that's BASEMENT JAXX - DO YOUR THING :)

  • Hans Kloss i Goonies - to byly gry!

  • on 8:25-starqueke.

  • hehe, dzieki :)

a lista tytułów jest i to całkiem długa - w opisie każdego z filmow :P

  • Here is what I don't get. The Atari 800xl was superior to the Commodore 64 in every way. Better graphics and sound, its basic was easier to work with, especially with sound and graphics. It had a tradition of good video games. Why did the Commodore 64 outlast it?

  • The C64 had 4 voices. Didn't the 800 only have 3? Marketing is a big part of it. The Vic-20 and the PET were very popular also - gave Commodore a running start. Parents often looked as an Atari computer as a "game machine" that can do computer stuff back then - tough stigma to get past.

  • but, even so, it seemed that companies were making video games longer than they did for the Atari.I would have liked to have seen Skate or Die on the Atari 800xl or Paperboy(don't remember those being out on the atari and they were the reason that I got a c64 and sold the atari).I think you're right, though. The big stigma, though was not so much an association of video games in general, but the video game crash that occurred in 83 or 84.I think by then everyone felt that atari video games sucked.

  • I don't remember the number of voices, but you may be right. And the sprites were capable of more detail than the Atari. On the other hand, the Atari was capable of more colors (256 colors as opposed to 16) and had more graphic modes, and the Basic included video and audio command. In order to program video on the c64 you had to do it using "peeks" and "pokes" comands, that is, unless you got a special cartridge or software that gave you those commands.

  • Oh, Don't get me started on those Peek and Poke commands...hehe. I remember trying to program music in BASIC as a kid. Demo artists used to copy the C64's ROM into RAM, redirect the system to RAM - then hack the copied OS so to allow for all kinds of cool things..."Pieces of Light" was the best one I ever saw. Multitasking on 1 mhz.

It's amazing how the limited capabilities forced game developers to really be creative and make the games fun instead of dazzling.

  • hahah, true.

  • brakuje: klątwy i władców ciemnośći, mieczy valdgira II, magii kryształu, upiora i w ogóle mało jest tu polskich produkcji (raptem kilka). a to właśnie te polskie gry (tworzone dawno po upadnięciu atari na Zachodzie) wyciskały siódme poty z atari i były najbardziej miodne

  • hmm Starquake

  • can anyone tell me what is the name of this game when you have a flying green dragon, you press the button to fly, and you fight other dragons by collecting eggs. does anybody know? thanks

  • Is this game shown in one of my movies ?!

  • It should be WING WARS

  • No proszę! Jest i Pitfall 2 (2 część) i Behind. Wiele życia spędziłem przy tych dwóch grach. Pitfall ma dobrą muzykę, a Behind nastrój grozy. Te zielone gęby :) Zawsze wypatrywałem koloru twarzy :)

  • I miss Space Dungeon, Zenji, an awesome side-scrolling spaceship game kinda like the videogame Scramble, Star Raiders, all the Infocom games, King Arthur and the Holy Grail, and a host of others.

I was amazed that almost all the videogames you showed were ones I had never seen. What's the one where you're an eyeball hopping around turning walls to make squares? I used to love that one.

  • I think the game you have on mind is called 'DRELBS' :) I used to love that one too.

I'm preparing to make a 4th part of my series, so stay tuned...

    Thanks for comment :)

  • oh I see the next part!! Good Work;)it's great to mention good-old times...Greatings

  • 0:45 - Behind Jaggi Lines (Lucasfilm) - It was also known as Rescue on Fractalus! "Behind Jaggi Lines" was the development title, the retail box edition was Rescue of Fractalus.

  • Yes, in 'Behind Jaggi Lines' there was no additional animationa as in the 'Rescue on Fractalus'. But still this were exactly the same games:) I named this game that way, because of my sentimental soul - I always knew this game as a 'Behind Jaggi Lines' as a kid :)

  • good job! I love Atari too, look at my channel ^_^

  • I know that, I am your subscriber :D :D :D

  • nice job! :) you have reminded me about several fine games! for example, me and my brother very liked Gun Fight and Hover Bover was making me a laughing :)
