  • You are right, my wife is Dong Chinese, this is not dong, but it is very nice.

  • that sounds like the hmong instrument...the ncais in the background...

  • This is a typical "Wa's Hair Swaying Dance". Search YouTube and you will find other videos.

  • Hei, this is to let you know that this dance is NOT a Dong people's dance, but a Wa people's dance. If you search "佤族" at Google Image, you will find that Wa girls generally wear the same outfit as these dancers. I have found a Chinese webpage saying that this dance is a Wa dance, not a Dong dance.

  • It's no wonder, the Han assimilated everybody. People don't know, but many of the Miao, are chinese now.

  • In any case, it really doesn't look particularly Dong. THe Hans strike again!

  • very creative!

  • Dong in Lao means wilderness .The foot stumping and head mouvement look strikingly to the karan or the Ka in Laos.

  • dong-wilderness is not the same meaning as the ethnic name dong. dong is what the chinese refer to them as. the dong ethnic refer to themselves as "kam or lac-kam." kam means cover and possibly gold. lac means child or offspring.

  • they DONG are not HMONG.. hmong are MIAO...

okay.. im hmong.. DONG dress kinda like HMONG.MIAO.. but, they are not..

  • i see similarities...

  • the Dong are not hmong or miao/meo. they call themselves kam/lac-kam, they are daic and related to thai, lao, zhuang people.

  • They are Hmong.. .or chinese call Hmong in china as Miao or Meo.. geshshs..
