@TechniquePrevails haha {: good explanation though, seems like every time i set up the peruvian they at least attempt to sit out...i also found when i hook that arm around and sort of grab their lat or whatever then lock it and it works very well like you explained. good job
i went from anaconda to neck tie...got the tap. werked great.timing, surprise, technique are key..i tucked his arm under from n/s position clasped hands angled leg over head and back. got the tap from my boy. hes purple belt. im white...thank ur vids help.
Nice...you could also take the back or go to the triangle if the armbar isn't feeling as strong from this position. If you guys haven't checked out Brandon Quick's Fade to Black DVD you should hit it up, lots of excellent options and new entrances to the peruvian necktie.
The part about this technique that gives me the most difficulty is that at 1:01 and 1:45 my opponent is usually cranking his right elbow/arm inward so hard (or he his holding my left forearm with his left hand), that I am unable to scoop my left arm around his right upper arm.
Try faking this armbar and then switching to the anaconda choke if they're wanting to go in that direction. There's also a variation where you can step over and dive roll across him. A couple of options here.
@TechniquePrevails The dive roll has been extremely successful for me my last few rolls. It's good to keep both those options in mind, especially because a number of opponents don't usually prepare for that opposite direction you're rolling them, and end up give you a bit of assistance on the momentum.
another high quality technique from you guys...i guess i should stop paying an arma nd a leg for classes and invest in some mats and find some partners to join me....mahalo!
I love your videos!!!
