I got a pound of regular herb, I did this process and I studied the results. After taking the oil for a month on a daily basis I saw no significant changes.

I don’t recommend the use of butane as a solvent to produce THC medication, (as in 'Run From the Cure') since it is very volatile and would require the use of expensive equipment to neutralize the danger. Also using butane to produce the oil does not decarboxylate the finished product, so oils produced in this manner would be much less effective for medicinal use. @shawnio Uhhh, NO< I know that it does NOT degrade...the heat exchange is rapid, the butane is boiling, but the temp never goes high...the water is freezing as the butane is boiling..... this stuff tests at over 80% regularly, with some going over 90%...as long as the temps stay low, there is no degradation.....In this purge, the water literally is freezing in the boiling butane, it is ice cold at the end of about 30 seconds...
@pupuguru I can attest to this. Last week I ran a batch and my boss accidently dropped about 3 cups of water into the bubbling tane batch that was about 40% left till done. The water from up and there was a huge mess on the table. Basically when I put my hand in the water on the table I had butter already on my hand. most of the tane purges and there is a bunch of budder on the walls and the water is left in the middle once it is stirred with motion. just dump water and the budder is on side.
It is better if made of stainless steel or something inert.

@sk8erchase One can per 10 grams is WAY too much butane. I use a can on an OUNCE. If you're doing a run of around 7-10g's, 1/8th-1/4th of a can will be PLENTY.

wow were do i begin you don't want to run butane inside run it outside in a well ventilated area you also dont want to use Ronson this is possibly the worst butane to use there are many good alternatives u need to look for the impurity free or at-least triple filtered. Also you use a hot water bath with another pan. this lets the tane evaporate with no water contamination. Then i preheat the electric oven to about 300 and let it further sit in there for atleast 10 min.

DO THE MIRROR-TEST: You unload the can of butane on a mirror for 10 seconds. Do this for several different brands (or atleast 2) and see how much residue is left on the mirror after the butane evaporates.

Scraping is not quite the right term, the emulsion makes it NOT sticky, like waxy, so it is easy to collect. We usually lift it from the water before it hits the sides. you notice the sparkles from the oil when you light it with the torch? That is from the moisture you are trapping in the oil when you dump the hot water in it. Just set that white dish inside larger dish with boiling hot water in that. It is a much safer and less volatile way to purge your oil. It also prevents contamination of the oil by moisture. Never do a butane extraction indoors. You are just asking to blow yourself up. A lighter uses butane. It only takes a tiny little electric spark to light a lighter. Think about it. Just a static electric spark could blow you up. Do not use ronson. It is horrible. Use quality butane like vector, king, colibri, lucienne to name a few.
Do not put your oil in water to purge. Use a candle or coffee cup warmer. Or purge using a double boiler method.
@vtprisonco as I know, 'ear wax' is made from this butane honey oil by heating and whipping it so small bubbles are trapped, making it waxy and non-sticky.
@sc00f That's part of the reason, we run a lot of this and it isn't cool to have to sit and wait on gallons of butane to evaporate. It also makes it easier to handle and gives the budder texture without whipping it, the boiling whips it and emulsifies it.
@sc00f Nope to the degrade, about two weeks drying and curing is better, a month in a cool dry place is righteous. Yep to the non-sticky...i don't show how, but we make it dry as brown sugar...;-D
@pupuguru I tried it with red oil (similar to bho), but the purging didn't make it non-sticky. I boiled it hard for 15 minutes. I also tried whipping it manually, but that didn't work either. It remained ultra-sticky no matter what I did.
thats a wierd way of doin things man.... the trim looks really low quality too. id try it with sum nice buds and be patient an let it evaporate without using water ....will be much nicer
i must point out some very important mistakes in this video.
-never do this indoors or in a confined area. butane pools ( heavier than air ) and can ignite from a static spark.
-only use 3x refined or better butane. cheap stuff like ronson will containn too much mercury ( marcapitans ). mercury poisoning is real bad.
-to remove any chances of static spark you should wrap some bare metal wire around your bare ankle and stake it into the ground. no fans either! do it outside!
It is being done outdoors. Unilite is the top line gas for purity, although some say Ronson is best. there is no danger of static in this situation. Thanks for your concern. Do you do this a lot?.

to test the purity of your butane, turn the can upside down and spray it onto a mirror. once it has evaporated you will see a white film left on the glass if it is ronson or a low quality butane. try colibri or king brands...

@eas8139 watch again, not needed, I purge the SOLUTION with boiling water as soon as I run it. Much faster than the double pan trip AND it is needed to get the texture correct.

Basically when I put my hand in the water on the table I had butter already on my hand. most of the tane purges and there is a bunch of budder on the walls and the water is left in the middle once it is stirred with motion. just dump water and the budder is on side.

I've read that if you take this extract and dissolve in alcohol, it would left the resins on the bowl, to have the most pure THC/CBD (double cleaned) in alcohol, which needs to be evaporated too.
What are your thoughts about that?

@diegoadelgado They can make many plastics out of hemp that are biodegradable and turn back into soil unlike conventional plastics that stay in the dirt for hundreds of years. Hemp can also be made into a fuel that runs on hemp Ethanol that is very bio friendly unlike oil that is not renewable and costs way more. The first car invented was originally made to run on Hemp fuel. What would you prefer 4 dollar gallons of gas? Or 10 cent gallons of Hemp fuel?

@sk8erchase One can per 10 grams is WAY too much butane. I use a can on an OUNCE. If you're doing a run of around 7-10g's, 1/8th-1/4th of a can will be PLENTY.

wow were do i begin you don't want to run butane inside run it outside in a well ventilated area you also dont want to use Ronson this is possibly the worst butane to use there are many good alternatives u need to look for the impurity free or at-least triple filtered. Also you use a hot water bath with another pan. this lets the tane evaporate with no water contamination. Then i preheat the electric oven to about 300 and let it further sit in there for atleast 10 min.

Ronson is shit man! use vector or london, gotta get that 5 times refined and they dont add nearly as much sulphur as ronson fuel does.
DO THE MIRROR-TEST: You unload the can of butane on a mirror for 10 seconds. Do this for several different brands (or atleast 2) and see how much residue is left on the mirror after the butane evaporates.

@kcjames801 Unilite is clean. The end techniques are not shown. See Gold DUST video for the dry form. Also make amber glass. Scraping is not quite the right term, the emulsion makes it NOT sticky, like waxy, so it is easy to collect. We usually lift it from the water before it hits the sides. People come from around the world to get it for meds and coffee shops put it a t the top of the list. Taste is wonderful I know the diff, dude, I know the diff. Thanks for caring....;-D GBSEGWW

you notice the sparkles from the oil when you light it with the torch? That is from the moisture you are trapping in the oil when you dump the hot water in it. Just set that white dish inside larger dish with boiling hot water in that. It is a much safer and less volatile way to purge your oil. It also prevents contamination of the oil by moisture. Stay medicated. - dirt

Never do a butane extraction indoors. You are just asking to blow yourself up. A lighter uses butane. It only takes a tiny little electric spark to light a lighter. Think about it. Just a static electric spark could blow you up. Do not use ronson. It is horrible. Use quality butane like vector, king, colibri, lucienne to name a few.
Do not put your oil in water to purge. Use a candle or coffee cup warmer. Or purge using a double boiler method.

@vtprisonco as I know, 'ear wax' is made from this butane honey oil by heating and whipping it so small bubbles are trapped, making it waxy and non-sticky.

@sc00f That's part of the reason, we run a lot of this and it isn't cool to have to sit and wait on gallons of butane to evaporate. It also makes it easier to handle and gives the budder texture without whipping it, the boiling whips it and emulsifies it.

@pupuguru I tried it with red oil (similar to bho), but the purging didn't make it non-sticky. I boiled it hard for 15 minutes. I also tried whipping it manually, but that didn't work either. It remained ultra-sticky no matter what I did.

i must point out some very important mistakes in this video.
-never do this indoors or in a confined area. butane pools ( heavier than air ) and can ignite from a static spark.
-only use 3x refined or better butane. cheap stuff like ronson will containn too much mercury ( marcapitans ). mercury poisoning is real bad.
-to remove any chances of static spark you should wrap some bare metal wire around your bare ankle and stake it into the ground. no fans either! do it outside!

i have lots of experience in this and i am also a cannabis activist in the vansterdam scene.
to test the purity of your butane, turn the can upside down and spray it onto a mirror. once it has evaporated you will see a white film left on the glass if it is ronson or a low quality butane. try colibri or king brands...
you appear to be in a confined space, that is considered to be indoors.

NOt indoors or confined, you only see a portion of the setting. NO metal present for static sparks rubber soles, I am aware. Video has warnings throughout I will appreciate any data showing the mercapitan levels in various brands of gas. Looking to get large cylinders of tech grade. Need testing for cannabinoid levels, want to know what is working for patients in different areas. Thanks for the comments and support.

im sure you realize that once you step up to tech grade gasses you will need to change your setup. if you are looking for that kind of purity, you will want all lab equipment, and also invest in vaccuum purging equipment. to go full pro, learn perfuming and that way you can extract specific cannabinoids by using specific solvents and extraction methods.
