This trick only works on jumping spiders or other spiders that have good vision. This would not work on web spinning spiders, like cellar spiders or black widows, as their eyesight is very poor.

@stickmanpwner64 Jumping spiders are really the only spiders that do this. They have pretty much the best vision of any spider and can see well within a few feet. Most spiders cant see jack, most hunting spiders like wolf spiders can only see inches in front of them, if that. Jumping spiders appear to have curiosity like cats, unlike any other spider or insect for that matter. Thats what makes them great pets.
