  • Sounds like a Shirley Bassey Bond theme...

  • i think it's the best french animated TV series of all time

  • @MrMarouto What about Asterix?

  • @borgduck Yes also .

  • @borgduck But asrérix it's a (We say une BD bande dessiné)

  • Hh il etait une fois l’Espace le plus grand dessin animée du monde qu'elle imagination qu'elle graphisme une splendeur merci Monsieur Barillé Omega Cassiopée et les Humanoides et même les Incas l Atlantide etc

  • If you have the English dub/sub, could you please upload them? Awfully difficult to find any of these superb episodes in English.

  • lol sounds like a James Bond movie.

  • Fly with me

    Past Jupiter and Mars

    Come and see

Fields that pearl ripe with stars, galaxies

    In astroseas above

  • Hmm... Nice, but the French version is way better... This lacks a bit of punch.

  • Je préfère la version Française ;) !!

  • Well, the english singer on this at least puts her heart into it unlike the backup singers in "Once Upon a Time...Life" >_>

  • does anyone know if i can find the name and music for the french one?

  • shirley bassey ?

  • @Rapoutch Not sure about that but thought the same...

  • It's a shame no one has ever upped this great serie on youtube in english or french. I've found only a version in Hungarian..... wich unfortunately i'm not able to understand.

  • @ShinXari Wait, the Hungarian dub is online? WHERE? I've been searching for it for so long.

  • Heh, funny thing. Most of the space themed cartoons seemed to have this kind of music back in the 80's.

Wild west movies and cartoons had this bonanza kind of music.

and then in the 90's future cartoons had this non-sensical cyber-punk kind of a music.

Do I see a certain kind of a theme pattern in here? XDDD

  • anybody know where I can download the american production of this show Revenge Of The Humanoids?

  • That sounds like Shirley Bassey.

  • Wow, I've been wanting to hear this English version ever since I saw it on Channel 4 back in the early 1990s. Thanks for posting! Where did you get the English intro anyway? I thought the English soundtrack had been lost...

  • this is an amazing intro can you imagine a cartoon nowadays having a song like this or an intro this long ? not a chance .I had completely forgot about this programme it really is great to see this again thanks

  • Did this show ever came out in the U.S. or Canada? I don't know, but I remembered that I saw this either in a channel in Montreal or New York.

  • @jd3189 It came on Nickelodeon in the early 80s as a movie called Revenge of the Humanoids.

  • @jahmal99 Oh.Thanks.

  • i would bet 5€ stargate sg1 creators took their inspiration in this series. it's all about adanced people who are mistaken to gods and who meet even more advanced beings in the last 2 episodes. they are made of pure energy and stopped the galactic war in seconds.

  • The english version has a james bond feeling.

  • @SELFsufficiently lol yes

  • Is this song available in a longer version? I really like this english version.

  • I have been trying to trace this for ages. I used to watch it as a teen in the 90's but all i could remeber was the first line of the song . I love the French!

  • can anyone post the lyrics? english is not my mother language, so i miss a few lines. i can't sing it properly. thanks :)

Barillé made fantastic cartoons, i'm really grateful to him.

  • Ah, I remeber watching this in the late 90s and early 2000s. Childhood is a wonderful time...

  • Great animated series.I will never forget the episode "The revolt of the robots".The showdown at the end was awesome.

  • song sing by Virginia Vee

she alos sing it in french in the movie'' la revange des humanoides''

    elle as aussi une tres

    jolie voie en francais

  • Anyone who knows where to get the episodes on english dvd?

Loved the series when I were little.

  • Christ, people have got some issues here. Why not just appreciate them for what they are - nostalgic clips from our youth. Fortunately, je parle les deux langues, so it's plus facile for me :)

PS As for the French "murdering" English songs, did you not know that My Way by Frank Sinatra was originally by our very own Clo-Clo?

  • I'm French and I want to say that fortunately, all french guys are not so closed-minded that they could'nt appreciate this version too. OK, French lyrics are great, but you can't translate them as they are, it would have been a stupid idea... And the two versions are great, anyway. So what's the problem with all these freeky weirdos roaming around ?

  • @LTVCorp

they are just weidos, don't bother you about them !

they do not deserve such attention !

  • @LTVCorp No idea, I don't know a damn thing about french but they sound identical enough in my ears thus I can't say english singer did it any worse. French version might have deeper lyrics but dunno.

  • or if i explain myself a bit better: what site can i buy the DVD or VHS?

  • where can i buy the English DVD or VHS?

  • I'm French, and I hate how the lyrics where murdered in the English translation!

  • really loved the huge detailed ships

  • who sings this soundtrack?

  • Amazing!

I remeber watching this in English on TV as a child. I prefer the English soundtrack, I think its fantastic-sounds like Shirley Bassey almost sung it!

  • I'm French and I prefer the ORIGINAL french version!

  • RIP, M. Barillé.

  • BTW great thanks and RIP to Albert Barillé who made so many quality cartoons for kids. He died 4 months ago, and deserves gratitude to have made us grawing up with something with a far better quality than the crappy cartoons kids have nowadays.

  • @Soussmeboules Amen to that.

  • @Soussmeboules

Ha was such an amazing man, i met him In Paris when i was young, i remember him telling me haw life and respect to everybody were so precious to all of us !

  • Wonderful version but the french sings by Jean Pierre Savelli is still the best! ;)

  • some1 PLEASE tell me the song!!!

  • Is this a French/Japanese co-produced anime?

  • its western european, france, italie, spain holland belgium, uk

  • and Canada

  • and Japan (Eiken Co. Ltd.) and Argentina (Crustel S.A.). I don't don't believe the U.K. was involved in its production though.

  • It's French with cooperations works made with several european countries (Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Italy) Canada, Argentina, and Japan. UK, Austria and Germany didn't collaborate. Philippe Bouchet (aka Manchu) is the one who created the ships and scenes illustrations for the serie (by the time he was also involved in Ulysses 31), and the great Michel Legrand for the music. A true masterpiece.

  • God, i cant get this song outa my head!

No one knows the name of it?

  • Does anyone know where i can watch this online?

  • Hello, Could You tell me the song name? please

  • The english version its so espectacular, perhaps the french version its reallity adapted in the cartoon but the orquestation is very very done almost perfect.

  • This was definitely dubbed into english, as I remember seeing it on Channel 4 in the early 90's. Also, the ship designs have been heavily influenced by Chris Foss!

  • But I don't understand one thing. On the website of PROCIDIS they sad that this show never has been dubbed in english. But I heard fro other people that it was aired on Nickelodeon with English voices.

  • @madgamers2009 I don't think it ever came to Nick.

  • I've just bought it all on DVD.. Childhood fav.

  • I saw the movie "La Revanche des Humanoides" (The Revenge of the Humanoids" on Nickelodeon when I was a kid, and fell in love with the show. The design for the ships alone is heartbreakingly beautiful. And though the French version of the song is much better, I do like the english version as well. It's not bad at all.

  • I have a clip from this show on an old video tape. If I only knew how to get it onto YouTube.

  • OMG thank you!

I wzs lookin for this a very long time...

The spaceships were so detailed and the designs rule!

Was there any Japanese studio involved?

  • my kingdom for this DVD series in english! WHERE? HOW??? English subs? ANYONE???

  • La chanteuse = pas terrible, ça vaut pas la version française !!

Listen the french song ! it 's so better !! so

  • great video, great series =)

  • Last time I heard this, I was 3-5 years old. I didn't understand the lyrics, but I loved the music, beautiful female vocalist. Now I'm 17 and cynical, but this series still make me feel warm inside. Thanks for this video.

  • 17 and already cynical! ;) But you're right. This series has an optimistic overtone, a little like Star Trek, but it was also educative. All the other series from Procidis were just as good.

  • One of the classiest cartoon themes of all time, and none other by the French genius composer Michel Legrand himself.

  • I remember this series, i grew up with it. Thanks for adding the english intro here!

  • Used to love this show and the theme when i was a boy, always wanted to hear it again. Thank You!!

  • Good old times

  • IMpressive. Didn't realize there was an English version, I grew up hearing th eFrench one.

English isn't bad at all either. I wonder which one came first ... .

  • really happy this show that I remember from childhood is coming out on a dvd set later this year, 2008-08-06 in sweden!

  • Hello! Can you link to this news? Do you know which languages/subs will be included? I really want this show to own!

  • Looks like I let myself be carried away with excitement too soon, it's only coming out in Sweden it seems, and only with swedish voices as it was on television all those years ago, which kind of sucks; I was hoping for the original french language with subtitles!

  • This is one of the best and most awesome

    space cartoons ever made!

If only it was not so hard to find!

I would love to see this again.

  • For the Trekkies among us... one of the people in the credits is called René BORG! Those robotic guys from Jama are a kind of...

  • I won't object to that. The song of the Spanish opening is a disaster!

  • I prefer the french opening.

  • Whoa this really sounds like taken from a Bond-movie xD

  • Sounds like Shirley Bassey to me. You know she who sang Goldfinger,Diamonds are forever and Moonraker.

  • I love this song/serie!

  • Oh, who is singing this song? She has so beautiful voice.

  • Ahhh... I loved this show. Animation quality was great...and the end of the series was awesome! Titanic space battles to make any anime fan drool. A shame I can't fine anything more of this fine series in English.

  • Yeah ... the ships design/details on screen were superior to Japanese production work for tv series back in 1981!
