  • Just learned a new beat :D

  • Awesome vid!! BTW - is this how pads are sounding acousticly? Cause sound really chunky...

  • I love this beat - one of the first I ever learnt, 27 years ago now! It shows Larry Mullen's background in marching bands and the military feel fits the lyrics really well. I also love doing hand-to-hand syncopation with semi-quavers on the hi-hat: you can mix the beat all over the place and then bring it right back again... Thanks so much for sharing this - hope a whole new generation will be banging out U2 now!!! (P.S. A GREAT overhead camera angle you have there).

  • Thanks for the vid it really helped

  • started playing again, really love this drum riff, started trying to play this, hands kept tripping over themselves, thanx for breaking down the song, i can now play it. Not as good as you, ha ha, but rome wasnt built in a day, right?

  • People if you do not agree about something, must you be so hateful? So much "F" this, and "F" that, and insulting people if they make an error spelling etc.... Nobody is perfect. Have some class!

  • I would bang the drummer!

  • Thanks for the explanation, it really helped me!

  • Perv

  • at the start of sunday bloody sunday it startsa with the four beats on the snare then goes straight to hi hat

  • let me know about my video by Linkin Park and any tips you can give me

  • @jbtizzle65 Thanks for catching my back...and thanks for the great note.

    BzB :-)

  • @jbtizzle65 It's YOU'RE stupid, a conjugation of YOU ARE,so look who's talking about being stupid-learn to spell correctly, before you criticize others, douchewad.

  • Excellent instructional video. Thank you kindly for your post.

  • where do i get the shirt?

  • you shouldn't talk so mutch

  • @MorenoNelson11 ...HELLO...the point of the vid was to instruct...how should I do that without talking....Duhhhh...If you want to see me just playing then browse my other vids on my channel and stop complaining. BzB :-)

  • @bazybeats .....it amazes me how many wise cracks there are on youtube. Getting all smart and complaining like: "this doesn't do it for me, tabs please!!" or "you made a mistake there and there" F*** your wise ass opions, you zero-uploading fools.

I think you are one of the better teachers here on YT. Although i'm not a drummer but a bassplayer I enjoy your vids a lot and learn from your rhythmic explanations.

Keep teaching bazybeats! More Prince, The Time

    Greetings from Amsterdam, Netherlands

  • @bazybeats ALL YOUR VIDS ARE TALKING!!! GOD!!!!

  • its save a drum bang a drummer....

  • have you done fifty ways to leave your lover?

  • You can tell this guy knows what he's talking about and it's quite obvious that he know his theory very well so thanks for the awesome vid =D

  • ''Bang the drummer'' that just sounds plain wrong xD

  • this helped alot thanks :)

  • You should show how to Play "Down with the Sickness" Disturbed"

  • good job man, this helped me out alot wen i covered the song

  • This gay sucks? That makes 100% sense. Very good video.

  • Wow!!!, you rock man. i'd like to become a good drummer just like you.

  • one-e and a two-e and a one-e and a two-e

    haha

  • I dont really get this comment. BzB :-)

  • well thats wat u are is saying...and i think its funny

  • I am not sure what you know about music reading but that is pretty standard stuff...So I just did not get it. But that is cool...you can never tell what is going to be funny to someone.

    BzB ;-)

  • @gibsonles421 if u dont like it dont look at it - pick another bro to hate and STFU!

  • @angiebrad1 that comment was directed to Ryundo!

  • @angiebrad1 Hey Kyle can u play "Phonics Monkey from SouthPark!?!" I dont think so!!! SSTFU! and move on!

  • nailed it

  • I love your shirt !

  • Damn B, that's so neat.. i wish i could play like that. The problem is av never touch a drum in my life and i don't know where to get lessons. -_-

  • greets from germany

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Really helpful.

  • Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. BzB :-)

  • I disagree. I think bazybeats is absolutely right. It is one intro note followed by one set of 16th's. Anyway 55k views he's doing something right. Keep up the good work bazy

  • just to let you know. . . your intro was wrong.

it starts with 4 snare 16ths

  • Its a cover song bro...get past the perfection that you are requiring out of a dated U2 song. BzB ;-)

  • i dont like you,, no offence

  • I was unaware that I was competing in some kind of popularity contest. But that is fine with me. I probably would not like you either from what I can gather so far in our conversations. Still...peace to you.

    BzB ;-)

  • @00Ryundo00

you're right. its called 'showing sunday bloody sunday' but his intro is wrong. i'm quiet sure he can't play the whole song.

  • im irish and guess what. . . . i learned this song on drums when i was 10 :D

  • DO A DRUM COVER!!!!

  • oneie and a twoie xD

  • that just made everything so much easier. thank you so much

  • :putnam:

  • cool seeing it coming together

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • Gotta ask, what are your electronic drums? i was thinking about getting some, just something a little quieter than my acoustics... ohh, and how much did they cost?

  • The kit is a Roland TD20 and they cost about $5,000.

    BzB :-)

  • awesome.

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • thank you very much!!

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • Ha dude i love your shirt

  • Thank you for commenting. BzB :-)

  • looking for a new kit,how much does the Roland TD-20 cost new? Been using a yamaha for the past 12 years, plenty happy with it but I love the nylon mesh feel over the rubber pads.

  • thanks dude

  • My favorite instrument is the bass guitar but I love the sound of the Sunday Blood Sunday's drum. I always play this drum sound on my virtual (imaginary) drum, kkkk. Good videos, man. Keep it up (2).

    Pardon my English.

  • One hell of a drummer I gotta say, bravo! I wish I could play drums myself haha. Guess Ill stick to guitar. Check out my vids!

  • Great work. Good explain. Really cool !!

  • Thanks...BzB :-)

  • Great! I learned something!

  • Awsome...that is the greatest pay of all...is to know it has helped someone.

    BzB :-)

  • It took me some time but i can now say i more or less can play this..Learned it form this video... thanks for the video! I have the larry mullen settings from V Expressions on my TD-12 and it sounds great... even from a crappy drummer like me.

  • It is always wonderful to know that my vids are helpful. Thanks for taking time to write. BzB :-)

  • Nem Sei Oque Estão Falando

  • Check out this song by the group Pillar. It's just a harder version.

I really enjoy your videos. Please keep it up!

    God Bless

  • Thanks...yes...there will definately be more vids to come...I am working on ideas. BzB :-)

  • what drum kit do you have

  • Roland TD20...BzB :-)

  • thanks

  • you look weird

  • And you wear a mask in public...so what gives?

    BzB :-)

  • Are you more of a Percussionist?

  • Are you board?

    BzB :-)

  • Hey man, thanks a lot for this vid!!

I'm buying a Roland TD-4K soon, I know, it's basic, but you've got to start somewhere, right? :)

And after seeing this vid, I know what my first song will be^^

It helps of course that I'm a massive U2 fan :)

Again, thanks a lot for your vids, I think I will a lot from you!

    Greets from Belgium!

  • Hmm, I mean I wil LEARN a lot from you. :)

  • Thanks a lot...BzB :-)

  • I've watched your video over and over again and now I can do it! Playing sunday bloody sunday..... thanks Bazy... Have you listened to Phil yet? Greetz

  • Thanks for letting me know...naw...I have not listened to anything lately...I have been very busy...but I will get to it eventually. BzB :-)

  • Am I the only one whose hands always get in the way of each other?!?!?

  • LOL... BzB :-)

  • It's true!!! I HATE it!...my hands always bang into each other while I'm ging from the hat to the snare! (and vice-versa)

    SO annoying.

  • It will get better with time...slow it down and give your brain time to soak in the right muscle movements first. BzB :-)

  • it is possible to do 16th notes on the hi hat and then go to the snare and still hit the hi hat just use flams or do 16ths on both hands its not hard

  • i bought a cheap e drum around 360 Dollar because my acoustic kit ITS HUGE doesn't fit in my music room anymore but now the problem is the hi hat doesnt compute 16th beats is it because its equiped with a simple PIEZO element " yes i opened the bastard " or is it possible to connect a better " like your sweet sweet roland " hi hat in the trigger input of my little e drum brain

  • No...I think your problem is going to be with the brains ability to compute and process the speed at which you are playing. I have seen this on cheaper e-kits before. Really, if you are looking to find an e-kit that replicates acoustics, you are going to have to spend a considerable amount more than you have. The Roland TD8 is pretty nice...so is the TD12...but it is a lot more money. BzB ;-)

  • ok thanks for your effort

  • Hi Bazy,

I'm from Holland.....a drumfan and playing the drums now for a few months.... it's realy great.

I'm trying to figure out the drum pathern of "you can't hurry love" by phil collins. Can you help me with it?

  • I will have to listen to it again...BzB :-)

  • Hi there,

    I've seen a few video's from you..... it's great.

    Greetz

  • Thank you...BzB :-)

  • I have a shirt that says "Save a Drum, Bang a Drummer" lol

  • I got mine at a tourist shop in Nashville. BzB :-)

  • Nice job, man. It's helping a lot.

  • Thanks for taking time to write. BzB :-)

  • lol, Funny shirt

  • Dude, nice work, but this song, drum music written by Larry Mullen (well, drum tabs), is really a piece of piss once you know what you're doing. I take my students through this one, as a way of developing coordination. It's a good "drummers'", song too if you know what I mean. your man Larry changes it up a bit too. he adds a bit of foot pedal high hat too.

  • Cool...Ya...it is not a huge challenge to get this...but I had a few requests for it none the less...and well...here it is. It is a great song for beginners to work on meter with too. BzB :-)

  • Nice kit man, what company/model is that?

  • That is the Roland TD20...BzB :-)

  • That's a cool kit. Nice video by the way, was very informative, and now I'm starting to play it.

  • how about bang the drum beat the drummer

  • That would only be good if you were into kinky stuff :-) BzB

  • Nice drumming here, bazy. I like your playing. Check out this song by the group, Pillar.

    God Bless..

  • Hey dude im a drummer to but i got the simmons sdk7 set what do think of it is a good set or should i get an other one please answer my question thanks.

  • I only played on the new Simons kit for a few minutes one day at Guitar Center. But I was rushed over there and did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked in order to make a good assessment. I think they are pretty cool. I used to play on the very first Simons kits...they were the only electronics available at the time where I lived. It was the SDS-8 kit. Later I owned the SDS-9. My next e-kit was the Roland TD-7. BzB :-)

  • can you make a rhcp video plz do it and send it to me

    maybe give it away

  • 2:51 sounds like run to the hills lol

  • why did the snare sound change so much at 2:38?

  • I am in Chicago Ohare airport waiting for a connecting flight to take me to a gig in Cincinatti. Since the sound on my laptop is not going to cut it in this busy environment, I will have to listen later to see what you are talking about exactly...it has been a while since I have watched this vid. BzB :-)

  • he put a flam on it

  • Thank you bazy! i learned this nice beat quick and easy in about 30 mins! thanks to you ill now go check your other vids

  • Nice video pretty helpful :)

  • I'm desperate to see how to play renegades of funk by rage against the machine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out!!! Thanks. :)

  • I'm desperate to see how to play renegades of funk by rage against the machine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out!!! Thanks. :)

  • Can you show me the sticking and bass drum pattern to the intro and the first part of the song entitled "In the air tonite" by Phil Collins. I haven't been able to find it online. I've found the middle part of the song where the drums come in hard that everybody identifies with that song. But I want to know and learn the beginning. Thanks

  • Well...the drumming at the beginning is strictly a drum machine. If I made a vid on it I would have to create a part on drums for it. It is very simple. The bass is on the 2 beat of every other 4/4 measure and there is some basic Hi-hat work sounds like. I can put it on my list of things to do...but it may be a while. BzB :-)

  • give it that extra punch

  • Neat...I dont play drums. But Im a big U2 fan and found this fun to watch.

  • UP THE IRISH!

  • I agree with copper, but not at all: it isn't a difficult song, but also don't is the easiest song possible, for a beginner drummer is hard to play.

But the beginner have only to listen the song, take the groove, this video make the song and learning the drum score more hard that really is.

  • i dont see y u would need an instructional vid for this song. its pretty easy. atually one of the easiest to play on drums. put the simplicity of it is waht makes it FUKIN AWESOME

  • good video

  • ahaha! got the same fukin' shirt!! big up from a fellow french drummer!! wicked drummin'! keep da good vibes!! peace

  • Thank you very much for this instruction.. can't wait to try it... Got the Larry Mullen drum kit setting for my TD-12 yesterday... that sound great, now i have to learn this...

  • umm kk then do u know were i can get the drum notes for that song??

  • You would have to google sheet music for that song. I do not have it writen anywhere...I played it by ear.

    BzB :-)

  • HA! I can play it note for note.. difficult though, but there is plenty of patterns, a lot of repeats.

  • were did u get the drum notes for that bit could u plz tell me?

  • Although I do read music...I did not read this part. I picked it up by ear.

    BzB :-)

  • that was awesome. very good shown and played (:

    love this video.

  • haha awesome shirt man!

  • wonderful instructions..really helped me..one question though..are there any accents on the hi-hats..?

  • thank you very much

  • Your Welcome. BzB :-)

  • Realy good.

I'm from Germany and I understood everything you said. It's realy good for me to see how this is played because I wanted to learn it but I never understood how this is played. And the way you have shown ( is this right shown??) is realy good.

    Make moore of this

  • Yep...I think it is right...thanks for the comment. I will have more vids like this one. BzB :-)

  • Great instructional video. You have a nice style infront of the camera too. Great job!

  • thanks...I apreciate the wonderful comment. BzB :-)

  • Wonderful job! Is this a Electronic Drum? I'm thinking of get one! Do you recommend it? Is it much different from the acoustic drum?

    Thanks!

  • What kind of drumset do you use?

  • In this vid I am using the Roland TD20.

    BzB :-)

  • good stuff man, thanks

  • Your welcome...thanks for the comment. BzB :-)

  • I'm a drumfan, so maybe I can learn from you

    Thnx for this vid

I added it to my favorites

    Greetz

  • Awesome...Thanks Jewel...BzB :-)

  • Great informative video cheers for posting.Excellent t-shirt also, where can I get one?

  • I got that shirt in Nashville in a tourist shop...I have gotten so many requests about it and a few of my other shirst that I am going to come out with my own line of cool drum shirts really soon. BzB :-)

  • Great, definately interested in ordering one from you! Hope it wont be too much of a problem shipping it to England?

  • I am working on all that now...trying to figure out how it will all work.

    BzB :-)

  • Thanks for the reply. My Dad was able to play it for me really slow on the drum kit.

Thanks for posting the video. I'm just learning to play.

  • Awesome...I am glad you got it. Sorry again that the vid was not more help...but the important thing is that you have mastered your beat. BzB :-)

  • Do you think you could slow it down a bit?

  • Sorry if it was too fast...I have only got up to 100 megs to get my point across. There is some software that will allow you to watch it a at a slower rate if you need...but I am not sure what that is. BzB :-)

  • Thanks a lot.

I can do it but I have problems adding in the bass drum.

I can do the bass and snare, hi hat and snare but I can't do hi hat, snare and bass all together

    Can you help me? :S

  • Just keep watching...do each part and put two together and keep working it. You will get it...it takes time...if you dont put in the time then you will not get it. Sometimes the time gets sickening...and sometimes down right boring to be truthful...but that is what it takes. BzB :-)

  • Thanks a lot! :)

If you're looking for a riff to teach to us, can you post a lesson for "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith if you have the time?

    Again, thanks!

  • Thanks for the vid idea...I do that song...so maybe I can actually get to that one. BzB :-)

  • Alright, awesome!

  • Sick nasty. Thanks for the lesson!

  • you mentioned that you have to keep your hands busy while playing, check out avenged sevenfold's song entittle, "scream". in the chorus, they're not 16th notes but its sord of another example out what you're trying to shows us here...I think, haha!!!

  • Oh yes...I know that guy is just sick...I really like his double bass work. One has to wonder just how fast a human being can get. BzB :-)

  • excellent. very useful thanks.

  • slap head
