there really is a big diffrence, although i do understand what you are saying. since the term indie applys to a very wide range of music that is usually free of a big record label. and just because a band is 'indie' doesnt make them good, but i do love alot of indie music! i think the reason you say indie bands become rock bands is because when they sign the big contract they usually lose some of there creative control, and there music isnt as creative anymore.

How did they change in Elephant Shells, so far, "Your English is Good" is indeed good. I dont see how the original EP surpasses the new LP. I've listened to them since they aired on Danny's show on Indie's "Feel my Heat"... they are both good. They are too new to compare to older stuff. They are still progressing... wtf.

To me, Elephant Shells feels a lot more like Indie Pop rather then A Lesson in Crime which is more Post-Punk. I find that it feels like they softened up a lot. I found this to be the case when they released Smith EP as well.

I got to talk to Dave yesterday at the Quebec City show and asked him if he used overdrive or some type of effect, since I have always been curious of his sound and tone. He said he did'nt and told me to just fiddle around with my amp to get his sound. He then told me to just buy an Ampeg amp hah But yah he said he gets his sound from fiddlin with hes ampeg combo stack. Just boost bass and put some high mids and pick heavily and close to the bridge.
