Really cool frag rack! Would you put this in a bare bottom, or if you use a substrate which might be best?

Lowes or Home Depot. It's about $11 a sheet. 1 sheet should be fine. Grab 2 if you really want to have some fun.

only thing i might say is add some supports on the jutting pieces. Heavy frags would bend or snap the crate

Decoration for a fishtank. Its fun making them look pretty and can make a whole room pale in comparison if done well.

Umm no, it is to hold small pieces of coral removed from the mother colony to grow out.

for reef tanks, when corals grow to large you have to trim them back, and in the process you create frags. and frags becomes there own coral and then you resell the frag and make money
