  • yeah Jason, you just keep that chest filled, those shoulders up there, and tell everyone all about Tat Ji. you've been teaching 6 years but are you ever going to start praticing and learn anything>

  • I started to learn "Yang style tai chi chuan" many years ago to find that the "stacking"of the body with hips tucked in , to be antithetical to the natural curve of the vertebral column or "spine"and ended suffering from back pain and incorrect posture..I talked with the shifu and found we were at an impasse...So I left the school...

  • great explanation and advice - thank you! (newbie to this)

  • It is a good introduction. But, Jason, the breath method is wrong.it should be the oppsite.when you breath out , your stomach should be bigger. In chinese, lower belly is called the ocean of chi(the energy's storage or centre). So it is not PUSH your stomach in or out.when your chi is moved out, your lower belly would be naturally smaller, coz it is empty. and visa versa. take a look at micro- and marcrocosmic orbit. hope this can help you:)

  • thank you jason! i always wondered how it is done. i am not that coordianted but i will try your instructions.

  • well thank you. very helpul video. thanks!

  • this is also for waterbending teqniqes right?

  • @whiteblaze323 lmao, yes

  • Very useful!

  • i know this is lusty so i say this with humor but i would agree with the tighter shirt to see better lol - bashfully giggling--hope that made you smile today :) P E A C E

  • @gordhill You may want to do a search on Youtube for ["Cloud Hands" Tai Chi Chuan Form] (minus the brackets) and look for the FlowingZen video by Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit. My Sifu has the Daoist history of Taijiquan in there.

  • @sniperdoc8404 also @gordhill I was passively reading these comments, and was astounded that I have found two people on youtube that have differing opinions, but do not feel the need to flame one another or be insulting, just because the other has different views. Good work :D

  • @gordhill- stop trying ot be a showoff, wasting your time on youtube trying to sound cool and mysterious. if ur so wise why are you on here with the rest of us?

  • gordhill, your tone shows you haven't learned as much as you think.

  • @Gordhill, If you really enjoy tai chi so much, then you should already know the taoist philosophy that goes with it, and if you actually did then you wouldn't be criticizing anyone. Good luck with your false knowledge.

  • well that makes sense actually...

Of course I don't expect Tai Chi to teach me how to fight, and I do not think that any one is saying it's the Best fighting art in all of china...

I thought this was for muscle tone, balance, breathing, sort of like yoga.. just with a way cooler name.

I want to take it, then if that goes well, start with some kung fu.. even if it's the bastardized American step child of a once great art form, I would like to at least dabble in it.

  • Keep the "masses" in the "dark" about .... tai chi? you just confused me... I want to know more about this new conspiracy theory, but you need to tell me more. haha

  • ok.... and who might that be?

  • excellent advice. thank you.

  • Most helpful I've found so far, time to look for more of your videos.

  • i really like dhis video of urs. becaure it is all about; 'Tai Chi' which is a tradical-style from china.. in the land of china there's is a traple, insides their were few shalion monks & buddia monks as well... it's a TRUTH! you know? also "Chi or Ki" energy is all around us, inculde the eath itself has a source of energy.... even us people got Chi insides the belly bottle ;) besides i'm intersted about this style :) so i'm going to give it a 4-POINTS!! :D

  • very good, thanks much!

  • this is great, I've always been interested, and this has helped

  • Very nice.

  • That was helpful

  • great job, very clear. My only suggestion is that if you would take your shirt off or wear a tighter shirt we could better see the inhale and exhale positions of the chest. (Minor critique).

    Great job and thank you.
