  • me pasarias algunas medidas del gabinete?? saludos gracias desde Argentina

  • oh shit mortal kombat is some scary shit

  • nice job i am a retro game junkie myself

  • this is sick! and with MK wow just beautiful i really like your videos

  • Great videos Luke! Just to pass on some info, for those who want more buttons but dont want cut there panel, there are a few places that sell astro panels on the web:

Also remember that blast city panels will work on a astro city cab as well.

  • What size hole saw did you use exactly? I'm turning my 3 button Astro City into a Capcom vs SNK 2 and need more buttons.

  • if u used the colors on the controller/ button area on the mortal kombat artwork, it would look better.

  • Also, I think the only real wiring difference with MK1 cabs with the 2 different boards is the "kick-harness", or the extra connector for the low-punch and low-kick buttons for both players. So the sound cards are supposed to work (interchangeable) from a Y-Unit to a T-Unit board. You could try the sound card from your working T-Unit on your Y-Unit board and see if that is the problem and vice-versa (try the bad sound board on the T-Unit.) Cheers!

  • I have MK1 & MK2 cabs and spare boards for them in case they die. My MK1 has the Y-Unit board (same type you were trying to clean & restore), and the spare for it is a T-Unit board. BOTH are Revision 4.0. The T-Unit board was used in the later MK1's, MK2, and NBA Jam I believe. Same boards, just different ROMs. Some MK2's (both of mine) have smaller daughter boards attached with two pin headers on the side because I think the earlier ROMs had less capacity. Later MK2's had no daughterboard.

  • @GamersIncorporated- What are you on about? The Astro City is a Jamma cabinet and therefore can play Jamma games. Jamma being an arcade standard means there are tons and tons of games available for it, a lot more than the Neo Geo.

Nice job on the panel Luke!

  • mk1 revision 5.0 used the t-unit board same as mk2. the earlier revisions used the y-unit board. weird to See MK on a japanese cabinet. Looks Awesome!!

  • LOL @ the closed captions... Apparently Luke likes to cut out peace treaties.

  • Legendary, Luke!

  • looks nice

  • great job man, its like everytime I watch your vids, its beyond words now, whatever nice thing that has been said, has been said, keep up the great vids, and never forget who you are and why you pst videos !

  • Dude you only need one button in the midle in mk1and mk2 wich is block ... mk3 uses a run button also so in that case in that may be needed.

  • Man that is pure awesomeness,i always enjoy watching your craft of what you can do with electronics.

  • great work!

  • Good work man. This looks great!

  • ^ I wanna play damnit come back to michigan luke!

  • Luke man this game bring back old memories yeah, awesome set up as always

  • This is probably my favorite coin-op, I'll get one one day, but despite saying I'd suck JumbleJunkies cock for an MK cab' I probably wouldn't, ummm maybe, who knows, a few candles, romantic music, lots of wine, yeah why not.

  • @28steryan hahaha dude that totally made me laugh my ass off. total deication :P

  • 0:52

    Famicom in a basket!

  • very cool as always luke not but pure awesomeness man MK brings back the memories cheers 5/5

  • Nice job on the layout Master Luke!!!

  • Flawless Victory luke....my hats off to you sir!

  • Wow it's been awhile since I've seen that Arcade game in action. It's so much better than the home versions!

  • mk the best

  • loved that game

  • loving the arcade stuff luke, MK was a classic from my youth, i remember when i was 12 or 13 showing my mum raidien's fatality, she was a bit shocked.. lol

  • good stuff Luke

  • yeh i had mk 1 pcb . it was a major pain to wire upthe extra buttons. i had a streetfigter 2 champion edition. at the time. it used to take ages because i did not have the propper loom. but it was worth it, kano was my fave player i was the dogs .

  • Anyone know how much these Astro City cabinets are worth? I think I could pick one up for sorta cheap.

  • You can probably get one for $400 but it will be hard to find Astro City games, unless you do a conversion like Luke did with his.

  • I found one for around 200 ish, maybe even less, I think.

  • If you can I would purchase a Neo Geo instead because there is a much bigger variety of games. Astro city games are very rare to find on ebay and such, and go for a lot of money.

  • There's no such thing as 'Astro City Games' its a Jamma standard cab and will play thousands of arcade PCBs.

  • The cab looks fantastic !!! Love the MK theme and the yellow and red scheme.

  • I like his hardware vids the most! =]

  • Get Over Here!

  • GET OVER HERE!!!!! GREAT VID LUKE

  • Awesome dude. Cool.

  • mortal kombat sucked because you had to remember to push a button to block instead of instinctively holding back like in street fighter 2. it was a big turn off in the gameplay.

  • great job man!!

man id love to have a mk cab!..=D

  • u shud use ur tripod for gameplay like this

  • LOL at the Famicom in the laundry basket peeking out throughout the vid.

  • Very nice! Toss MK2 on there!

  • Are those vermillion colored buttons??

  • It's too bad astro city cabs are only native to japan then it would be cheaper to pick one up in the states.

  • Never seen one an MK arcade in action. Always played the console ports of MK-MK3.I am thinking that there never was release of UMK3 in arcade. I remember seeing MK 2 and MK 3 in the arcade at the time of their release. Good printing job on the MK logo there. I would have thought you bought it and stuck it on there. Great vid as always!

  • @PearlJammer07: There was a UMK3 arcade release.

  • @PearlJammer07

The XBLA Port of UMK3 would like to have a word with you!

    lol

  • Man i would love a cab like that

  • You and me both dude.

  • mk is one of the best games ever in the arcade i would love to have 1 of these machines in my house.

  • Mortal Kombat was the first fighting game I ever played in the arcade. Still a lot of fun even today. Great job on that.

  • awesome, can't beat mortal kombat and good job getting it working

  • Nice job, as always :D

  • Neat!

  • Aww man, how could you do such a nasty thing to such a beautiful cabinet??

Be careful the Sega Astro city police will soon put you in a straight jacket and a padded cell 'lol' Its a shame really, doing that to a cab is like picking up a great looking girl and discover later on that she was a he...

Luke whats next??? Glue a bunch of astro city cabs togehter and use them as your house??

    Great job as always

  • Awesome!!

  • nice job luke as always

  • nice job, but for me is insult the astro city with MK hahaha, i need a cab T.T

  • Sweet luke, so you've givin up on restoring the sound board on the other MK1 board?

  • Was Mortal Kombat ever released in Japanese arcades?

  • Yes it was with Green blood!

  • oh shit wrong channel i apologise for being a dickhead!

  • oh shit im cumming on your Astro City (^0^) im all goey now (6_6)!

  • top work dude that looks cracking!

  • Luke that looks very good. Leave the light on for me bro. I'm coming over to play that beast.

  • Thats amazing how you can do the modification that you do. New name the Mad Scientist. Don't think I could ever have the courage to drill holes into an arcade cabinet.

  • It all looks great Luke as always.

  • The more I watch your vids the more I keep talking myself into picking up an arcade cabinet! Thanks for another great vid!

  • Dam man you have alot of good stuff. I wish I lived in Japan cause in California is hard to collect machines like that.

  • @Leathal752 Head over to NeoGeo(dot)com they have group orders sometimes and a fella called Matsu (I think) would be the guy to talk to.
