  • I wish someone could upload this movie on YouTube. :) I love this song.

  • great!

  • @1:03. that note just SEARS through, like a pig.

  • What a wonderful voice!

  • The woman in the balcony looks like Jennifer Saunders in a F&S film spoof!!!

Thanks for the upload, wonderful to hear and see the BEST tenor EVER!

  • Gigli, a student of Enrico Rosati, who also taught James Melton and film star Mario Lanza

    was superior to anyone today.

  • Everybody has it favor singer... no matter what they say about this or that person. If you like someone you will always think this person is the best. I see ppl here with explanations that sometimes makes me laugh, seen how technical they can get trying to change others way of thinking. Its impossible and waste of time. If you like someone no matter what they say to you, YOU WONT CHANGE YOUR MIND lol

  • A nice film with Beniamino Gigli and Joan Gardner, which was remade in 1958 with Ferruccio Tagliavini and Sabine Bethmann. The title of the second film was "Vento di primavera".

  • ASÍ DESEO CANTAR DIOS PADRE!!!!

ASÍ DESEO QUE SEA MI TÉCNICA VOCAL DIOS PADRE

    GRACIAS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @yosoyamorverdadero yo tambien

  • @yosoyamorverdadero yo tambien aunke aki siento ke le puso demaciada emocion

  • This is the film "Forget me not" - with Gigli and Joan Gardner, from 1936 , not 1935, a remake of "Vergiss mein nicht"/Non ti scodar di me (1935)

  • I saw this 1935 movie in 1956 in my little village in the Netherlands. My mother took me with her as I was only twelve years old at that time. My mother and me cryed for one and a half our. I nerver can forget this great performer. I love him since that time and collected all his movies, vitaphones, live-recordings and studiorecordings. He was a rather bad actor, but one of the greatest singers.

  • Great video!

  • Giglis voice was unique, especially in Italian canconetti.

  • can anyone please post the tune from beniamino gigli called SE VUOI GODERE LA VITA it would be very appreciated ty ...have a great day all

  • wow those acuti sound open and yet so piercing

  • The most beautiful voice in history.

  • Agree. De acuerdo. D´accord-

  • Pavarotti is my favourite tenor, I prefer certain aspect of him as a singer. However, my comment was based purely on the quality of Gigli's voice, which I believe surpassed any other voice on record in terms of sheer beauty.

  • @Mooorhe The only words I have for someone who finds Pavarotti a better tenor than Gigli is "idiot". You ought to be committed to a mental institution. There's about 8 other tenors that make Pav look like an amateur.

  • Pavarotti is my favourite tenor, too.

But Gigli was very good and I also love his voice as Luciano did!

  • @DaTrixta999 I don’t really understand why your comment is hidden. Everybody must have a right to his opinion.

  • Bergonzi is the best I have ever heard bar none

  • he was a class act but not in the same league as gigli bjorling nor pav

  • @meggy123456789 you retarded motherfuker, that is Gigli

  • grande marchigiano!

  • Beniamino Gigli...Ottimo...

  • This is the worst Gigli rendering I ever heard. If this is the effect of Hollywood, then it were much better that he never acted at all. One career at a time. This rendering, to my mind, does his memory enormous damage... it's so unrprofessional....

  • This clip is from "Forget Me Not", 1936. I watched the movie last night on TV for the first time. He sings the song in such an agitated way because he believes his wife has just left him - her box seat is empty. But happy ending: she doesn't go off with to Australia with the dashing young adventurer, but returns to their hotel suite to find her husband singing his little son to sleep. A very enjoyable movie with lots of songs sung in Italian by Il Maestro.

  • "sebreathnach" I don't think that you have watched this film, and perhaps you are forgetting that this was filmed in 1934, not in 2009. Your statements are so sever and wrong and I say this with all respect.

  • I have films Gigli, Caruso, Mario Lanza, Joseph Schmidt, Jonh mc Cormack, Nelson Eddy and Jeanette Mac donald.

Deanna Durbin, katryn Grayson, Alfredo Kraus, Maria del monaco, music audio and video of the greatest voices in the history of music, leaving interested write to me

  • I am a John MacCormack fan - any recordings or films you can supply, please?

    MACUSHLA -

  • How could I get those videos in Spain?

I'm especially interested in tenors (Gigli, Kraus, Caruso, Mario Lanza ...)

    Thank you

  • Come and hear my La donna, Soundclick dotcom/cybertenor

  • One of the greatest tenor voices of all time. He was not, however, a great musician or a great actor. In the twentieth century, only Fischer-Dieskau, Callas, and Natalie Dessay (who is still young and performs throughout the world), possess these three gifts in equal measure and use them always. There are many other great singers, but singing artists are few and far between. Joe Carbia, Miami, Fl.

  • Tristan1947-Signed-Isolde!

  • 30/11/1957 - 30/11/2007: Already half a century without Beniamino Gigli.

    RIP, Maesto!

  • The peoples singer of Italy-for sure!

  • Gigli is the best sound

    Hij had een eerlijke stem.

Zo zuiver zo mooi die techniek....

  • There will never be another Ggili. He thought of each

word he was singing with such feeling and passion.

Gigli will always remain in the hearts of the music

world. This partucylar song was written for Gigli to

sing bt Ernesto De Curtis. De Curtis wrote the most

beautiful love song ever and Gigli is the only person

who can sing that will bring you to tears.

  • Pavarotti is overated not Gigli.

  • no. I never liked Pavarotti. Pavarotti's voice to me was weak and not very pretty. That's why I never liked his voice. Gigli was AWESOME though, and Pavarotti couldn't fathom to reach Gigli's ability if his life depended on it. Pavarotti is the overrated one and if you look at what people have to say instead of reading possible bias, you'll maybe learn the truth.

  • no, not really. I'm not even a tenor. I just know what a great voice is.

  • beautifull the greatest tenor in the world

  • Please note that his character is angry at the woman, but the words in the song are not angry, so Gigli (the actor) is singing with the wrong tone on purpose. Probably the only time he ever did that.

  • His song is Fantastic, But Acting is So Unnatural-_-

  • What a god. Sheesh...Talk about eating humble pie... :-)

  • Simply wonderful! A document of a golden time of singing, long ago. Can anybody tell me, from which DVD or so this clip has ben taken? I think it could be the same, from which the clip of Jussi Björling singing "Till Havs" has been taken.

  • Tenor74, that's right - IT's the ''Three tenors DVD''. I also have the Bel Canto Society edition of ''Non ti Scordar di me'' from which this movie was taken.

  • A wonderful DVD and showing the three super-greats of the 20th century. Marvellous watching.

  • A short look at the brillance of Gigli.

  • This video stays loading here......very pitty because I really would like to hear it.

Gigli is one of my favourites

  • Maybe he was equal to Caruso - he certainly is remarkable - except for his tendency to increase the dramatic ends of certain lines by a sob-like trill he would have run off wiht all the prizes.

  • Near to the end of his career he stopped the sobbing and tried to recapture the brilliance of his earlier years. And let's not forget that his voice was just as vibrant at the end of his career when he was 65 as it had been when he was 35! I don't know of any tenor who had such longevity or stamina! Truly the greatest tenor of the century!

  • Caruso exagerated the sob-trills much more than Gigli. But I like it in Gigli's instance, he did it well.

  • I don't believe you'll find many who agree that Caruso "exagerates (sic) the sob-trills (sic) much more than Gigli." The sobbing Gigli does that I'm speaking about is musically pointless and artificial and is inserted by Gigli generally at the end of a line of verse where he must have thought a few extra notes of his special warble would make a difference. Other than that he was a brilliant performer with possibly the second or third greatest tenor voice singing...anything.
