Here the thing you can go do your taxes on your own, but if you make a mistake the IRS will be crawling up your ass. And believe me you don't want to be caught reporting on false tax claim.

@ophsj You don't have to buy Turbo Tax. You can do it online and it is FREE. You can even e-file. But e-filing is (if i remember correctly) bout 39.95. So again the tax preparation is free but to e-file is cheap just about 39.95.

H&R Block charge for each form and is a rip off, bacically cost too much. I did IRS twice for free but I don't qualify anymore, make too much money. Now a co-worker that is an accountant does mine for free and he uses Turbo Tax.

I used to go to H&R but now I use turbotax (dot) com. it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

I use TAXACT.Just google it.Federal is free and state is 9 bucks pluse efile.Its easy and all done on line ,no waiting in line lol.

yeah that is so true....i am gonna do it on my own or go to irs next time. cuz that 300 dollars for preparation could go in my pocket or toward my savings...but the whole irs it be packed as soon as tax time come there be a line out of the door at the irs...

A little advice to those that have internet access, there is a site that is very legit that I use and it is free to do your taxes online and file them electronically for free, even with the option to have the money deposited via ACH.
