Which is why the rights to the TITLES for "The Virginian" and "Whispering Smith" were claimed by 'EMKA, Ltd.' in the closing credits of the MCA-TV series based on those Paramount movies, 'wm'.
"Some"? MCA {Music Corporation of America} bought virtually all of Paramount's pre-1950 feature film library in what became one of the most short-sighted deals a major studio ever made for its assets. MCA paid Paramount (who needed the cash) $50 million for 750 feature films- which they easily earned back in less than a few years through aggressive sales of the library to local stations. Eventually, MCA claimed they earned a BILLION DOLLARS from those Paramount films over a forty year period.
Taken from "Broken Lullaby". I've seen it on TCM last month where it did have that logo. Some of the old Parmount films shown on TCM sometimes uses the MCA-TV "Arrowhead" logo.
I used to see this on WGN with old movies on a show called "Family Classics". Later I saw it on WPWR on some movies from Paramount. I read that MCA bought some of Parmount's movies
"Evil theme", indeed, 'ShaDeed'. MCA wasn't known as "The Octopus" of entertainment conglomerates for nothing!

Cool! This appeared at the beginning of Marx Brothers movies when Channel 13 (WNET New Jersey PBS) showed them in the late 1980s.

@fromthesidelines - And MCA's holding company formed for the purpose of administering those pre-'50 Paramounts was called "Emka, Ltd."
Such an opening logo was on many a Paramount film seen over WNEW-TV 5 through the 1980's.

Cool logo, but the 'a' at the top bugs me...

It would have been cool had they used this music for the REVUE logos too.
