  • MIke, that was a full fledged lance with upgrades... there is a reason for a long time in japan they said " if you wanna go fast, put a nissan engine in it.. " Haven riden in this sentra, and driven it, I can vouche for how stupid fast this car is/was.

  • Yeah, all them "Honda boys" talk about their VTEC kickin ass (OK, which it does...) but it's not quite as cool as Nissan's NEO VVL SR20VE and SR16VE engines...and the ultra-rare SR16VE N1 ; 1.6 liters, 197 hp. Suck on that.

  • @TPena92 Yes sir, the strongest the SR can be is 1700hp, the strongest the 4G63 can be is around 1200hp both maxed out and the SR20 is more reliable.

  • @REPOMAN24722 "way better" is the wrong term because what motor runs the fastest times in 4cylinder classes? and 4g's surpassed over 1400whp so what are you talking about? 4g's are more reliable stronger at stock levels by having beefier bottom ends and better headflow and have a way better aftermarket. SR20 are badass but are not better and im not being biased whats so ever. sr20 way better than 4g thats very biased and false in the same time reason why 4g's are way more popular than SR.. FACT!

  • @TPena92 SR20's are more reliable because I have never seen a 4G with over 1 million km on the odometer and people always complain about something breaking in them, SR20's have allot more after market support for a reason, SR20DET's are actually more popular In japan and here in Australia there are way more SR20DET's on the road and on the track, the only reason they are not in the US is because the KA24 was in the 180's there, I see an evo every 6 months here I see a SR20DET at 30 per day.

  • @REPOMAN24722 in japan sr20 are more popular but in the states i see many dsm/evos flying around...nissan ? maybe one in a blue but with KA24 very rare to see a sr20det unless swapped in 240sx. but like i said "way better" is biased and i respect your opinion but i've seen many high 8 low 9 second evos over here in jersey and some 7 second high six seconds DSM/eclipse not to much sr20 running 7's unless its in a 1500lb datsun

  • @TPena92 SR20 is one of the most common engines Nissan used them in a variety of cars, here when I go to Melbourne I see see more SR20's literary around every corner, Nissan Pulsars n14, n15, Silvia s13, s14, s15, 180sx and so on, And it is very very rare to buy a stock SR20 here, 1 in around 1000, All the ones I see in Melbourne have either a bov or dose pipe (the high pitched sound) One thing is fore sure they are better than Honda crap engines my stock n/a DE that has 253,000km is faster

  • @TPena92 Uhh lemme finish what your saying.. sr20=racing motor cheap as hell to build up.. 4g= money robber good build when built right not good enough.. sr20 maxworxs.. smoked the living shit out of the 4g off the line got the sr at top end cuzz not a big enough turbo.. 1400+whp=sr20 1200+whp=4g.. They have completely different capabilitys sr's have a better torquey head design 4g's are like hondas except there the more expensive version they make more hp then torque

  • @gokartmaster123 evos make torque and 4g63's surpassed 1400whp theres no need to argue about that...i cud pick up a DSM AWD with a 4g63T for 2-4k depending on condition thats no money robber as compared to a 240sx with a sr20det blk/red top going for like 5k or way more thats actually running

  • Respond to this video... and to say a 4g63 isnt good enough ur smoking a whole lot of crack cuz you can youtube 4g63 all day and see that its clearly a motor for high performance since it can handle over 500whp on stock bottom ends and love boost unlike a stock sr20..

  • @TPena92 Buddy your funny.. It all depends on the sr series.. Now if i had a sr16ve n1 engine 500whp is nothing to that motor.. Bud obviously you cant run the turbo without lower compression. Second a stock sr20 could run boost easily if i just got a turbo kit for my nissan 200sx ser you dont have to do anything to the motor to have an easy 350whp. Second sr's love boost honda's hate boost stop mixing shit up

  • @gokartmaster123 first off evos can surpass 400whp on stock turbo unlike a sr20 haha what r u talking about...4g63 love boost way more than any sr20...i've seen evos with stock engine with aftermarket turbos and fuel systems with a EMS pushing more than 35psi of boost! what sr20 can do that and be reliable...500whp in any 4cylinder is risky with a stock motor, theres no such thing as being nothing. go back to school and learn the physics of boost and how it works..500whp nothing to sr20 lol?

IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE SERIES your talking about go to wikipedia and look up 2 things motor and v.e cuzz you really dont know what your talking about learn the basics then come talk to me about boosting an engine you cant just boost a stock 4g motor thats not turboed you need to lower the compression.. sr20's have a perf 9.5:1ratioTO boost

  • @gokartmaster123 no 4 cylinder engine can easily hit 500whp this isnt a video game..it involves way more money that you'll ever have. sr20det with 205-250bhp easily hitting 500whp? but yet sr20det is better than 4g63 in a modern evo with over 300bhp and can easily hit over 400whp with just bolt ons and a tune.

    lets not get off-topic here. i stepped in because your saying sr20det is WAY BETTER than 4G NOT TRUE and you also said 4g are limited to 1200whp NOT TRUE im know what im talking about you?

  • @TPena92 Btw the reason the 4g won is because it had a better transmission then nissan.. nissan doesnt have as good of a trans at mit but mits have very high maintenance on there trans nissans take a little bit more of abuse tho

Some people have different taste. you prefer sr20 over 4g i respect that. i prefer a ford 2.3 turbo over the two but if i was to build another 4cyl it will be a evo. because they simply have more potential now a days over here in the states.

  • As much as i like the sentra, but even if the sentra win, there's no way it win by like 2 truck lengths when the car it raced was an evo. It's really hard to believe it. My assumption would be the EVO's driver suck at driving. Probably shift at like 3 rpm or something.

  • I think their misunderstanding 300z31. breaking the 190 whp mark na is rather difficult and not worth the cost considering the price of ve's these days. i hope to run dope with t25 soon though ;)

  • I know the owner of the Sentra right now he puts out 340hp to the wheels. I have a g20 with a t25 and I run 14 PSI with no issues on have stock internals. However, I only put down about 230 hp to the wheels. I will be getting a T28 eventually.

  • Maybe it's just me, and i love nissans and honda's bcuz in most cases they r the under dogs, but the evo driver didn't rev match, nor down shift so the evo technically wasn't even racing. But i do beleive the race would've still be in favor of the sentra!!!!

  • oh yeah!! dont under estimate b13 knowing that the car comes out with sr20 motor freakin beast dude sr20 engine by itself is capable of hitting 400hp just the engine by itself and its a whole different thing if the sentra is rolling with "neo vvl" with 11psi he's just tickling the engine and he's already capable of clearing 13-14 sec a 1/4 mile.. nissan sentra b13= "ultimate sleeper"

  • The SR20DE, NA, isn't capable of much more that 185 WHP. I don't know where you're getting 400 from. I don't know for sure, but I don't think that car was running VVL. At least, I didn't hear it.

    As for the 1/4 mile time, My turbo SE-R is in the 13's on street tires, without launching.

    But yeah, these cars are bad ass. Definitely a good sleeper. Especially if, like me, you keep the stock bumper, wheels, suspension, and don't have a huge ass muffler. Although, I might get a louder one.
