  • I had a buddy who was stationed at Clark AFB. He said they caught these things while on ramp patrol at night, and would sell them to the locals for .25 each. They cooked and ate 'em. Bon Apatite.

  • Did you say Philippines? =D

  • Flip one of those on there back an ur see why they click like that. :P

  • Great lookin' click beetle! Why don't ya go to a local bookstore there in the Philippines and find a book on bugs? Surely it'd be in a book of local insects... Very cool that you're brave enough to hold it when 90% of the rest of the world (and 99% of the United States) would be deathly afraid of it altogether. [=

  • its a reindeer!

  • did you eat it after the video? how does it taste?

  • it funny if you put a finger in its neck let see if it will not cut it

    meron ako alaga pangalan tandojumpy

  • @Deathless2288 philippines

  • @mercury904 there are click beetles here in the philippines? wow didn't know that

  • WOW!!!

    THATS HUGE

i found one a few min. ago and my cat was playing with it lol

  • Dont they die after so many clicks? The ones I found always died after I flipped it over one too many times

  • @MrTex1987 yeah they only get 50 clicks to live...lol

  • @7ON4R lol I know. after about 10 clicks legs start falling off...his little neck points would break off...or he would just keel over and go completly unresponsive. I can always spot a faker...but these just dont handle stress well at all. But theres a speicies of cockroach here in texas that I hit him 3 times with my boot on tile floor and hes like "WHAT! mother fucker that wasnt shit!" and scurts off losing legs but hes still truckin goin round in circles. And the 4th one always kills em. XD

  • Holy shit.

  • WOW ITS MINI CLICK ZILLA!!

  • I don't understand why humans always have to be cruel to animals.

This poor beetle didn't want to be fixed. Let him free!

  • @natija08 its a beetle and he wasnt being cruel

  • @norwayboy23

    I know that it's a beetle!

    Didn't you understand my post?

Humans should respect nature and every living being. Such a beetle is very interesting and he could watch it, but he shouldn't fix it.

  • cool antler things =O

  • that has to be one of most terrifying things i have ever seen in my whole life

  • nah they are actually harmless, me and my friend found one that was a bit smaller today and they're pretty cool. just put them upside down and leave them for a few seconds and they fly into the air

  • so, those things on its head smack together?

  • no, the joint between its head and back click together.

  • @Pacober1 yep i actually caught one recently that did bite and it would click with its mandables open and smash them againts me hand it sorta hurt

  • This beetles are pretty funny. You hold the beetle down, when it's about to click you let go and WATCH IT FLYY!~ loool.

  • yeah, but what i do is i just leave it on it back for ages and it will click heaps but you still gotta hold it down, then after its really frustrated you let it go and they go about 0.8m into the air

  • buahahahahah... poor thing

  • asarap igisa yan

  • wat is that stuff it spits out when it clicks?

  • wow, i thought the ones we had here in texas were big

  • isnt that a Cockchafer?

  • @mercury904 Lot more aggressive than the tiny ones I have getting into my bedroom... -.- I've even gone as far as to duct tape the windows...haven't the faintest where they're coming from, but I got everything and it's mother living in my bedroom this summer.

  • @mercury904 it is ugly

  • @zubbie2 i would totally hold thet thing! the click beetles we get in washington only get as big as grains of rice

  • Click beatle? wtf??

    Ohh i get it now...

  • beautiful speciman.nice to see it was clicking so often.even though it's a defence reaction sometimes it's hard getting them to "click".awesome antenae

  • wah that's big, nice bug you got there.

in singapore you can only see about one third of the size.

  • yeah i was surprised the night I found it too

  • it's gorgeous, amazing antenae, too bad we can't leave these poor buggers in the forest.

  • I've seen click beetles here that grow to about an inch, but that's as big as they get here. The one in your video looks about three times as big.

  • i was shocked too

  • cendesa preplonie

  • its head remind me of the rabbit costume from donnie darko

  • Bigger in what way, weight? The bulkiest Elater, Tetralobis flabellicornis, is from central Africa. Body length exceeds 7.5 cm.

  • im just talkin about click beetles

  • So am I. Sorry about misspelling Tetralobus.

  • I dont know what kind of click beetle is this but I got this from a tropical forest in the Philippines

  • I've seen click beetles before, but never any of THAT size. Wow. I didn't know they grow that big. How big would you guess it is? Two inches? Three? More? The largest I ever saw before this video was one about 3/4-inch to one inch long. I don't have a video of it, though. Sorry. And, it was a long time ago.

  • yeah! i was shocked too,i found this one flying towards my cousins flourescent light..bumping on it,at first i thought it was a scarab beetle bumping the light beacause of its size

  • thats huge! where do you live? greetings from norway where beetles bigger then 1cm are considered monstrous!

  • hahha you should see the scarabs here hehhee

  • I have one in my house (pest) its huge but I cant find it. Only saw it once so damn annoying

  • CLICK!...*waddle waddle* ...CLICK! *waddle* CLICK!...

p.s.s i am not scared of bettles theyre just

    gross

  • omg, if you run away from somthing. just becuz its gross, and not because its dangerous, you probably ARE a girl...

  • kinagat ang sofa

    HAHA XD

    mukhang masakit mangagat yan ah

  • one bigass click beetle...

  • But when you step on them, they make the LOUDEST crunching sound EVER!!

  • First, treat it with anti insects spray.Pour some gasoline over it and then ignite it. After that, just be sure that it has been atomized. God I hate these disgustingly big insect creatures. The are fast, they can stink and the can bite. Maybe this little creature comes right of Klendatu.

  • holy shitttttt im terrorized of the small ones but this is just crazy!

  • I HATE THOSE THINGS! I only get the small ones though, and when you try to squish them on the carpet, the click. Makes me shudder.

  • it wont bite but even though it doesnt bite i wont hold it

  • well it wont hold like the ants do..but its gonna hurt too...

  • "gago ka" hahaha loll

  • holy shit that fucker is huge, ive seen click beetles but only the small ones never one that big dont let this thing bite you its mandables look like they would hurt

  • maybe its a alien beetle or it's a neck snnaper

  • they're speaking my language.hahaha filipinos

  • some day ist gonna break hes neck... :D

  • Wow... I had no idea click beetles could be that large. Well, I suppose if the small ones can't harm you, the large ones are likewise.

  • That...is...HORRIFYING

  • It's a type of click beetle of the family Elateridae, if you put it on its back it will use that 'snapping sound' to flip over.

  • oh thanx very much! -jason
