In this economy, a lot of people have lost their jobs. I don't agree that banks or any business should ever be bailed out, but it happened. But there is no excuse for a protest like this. The rich don't owe you. If I make more than you, it doesn't mean I owe you for making less. No one owes you anything and sooner that gets into the heads of the "entitled" we can move out of this economic recession.
Define corporate greed, seriously. "I'm against corporate greed." Ok what is corporate greed? The president can't exactly sign the anti-corporate greed act without knowing what it is going to actually do. And are you saying the 1% aren't Americans? I wonder if these are the kind of things said during Nazi Germany. I'm for democracy but the wealthy deserve none. I know the truth hurts but this is what ows is actually saying. And anyone can make money in a down market not just the rich.
@fds9931 Bingo. People have it in their heads that the concept of capitalism is the grand culprit. In truth, it's not, it's just big corporations trying to play it cheap and the government giving handouts to them.
Basically the problem is not the game or the winning players themselves, it just that the game masters aren't playing by the rule book anymore.
I wonder where the Corruption has come from? Could it be from Big Government Influence? Could it be that Politicians have allowed Corporate influences to drive elections? Could it be that if we reduced and eliminated Big Government it would help our economy? Could it be that supporting Democrats and Liberals, you are therefore supporting Big Government? Could it be that increase regulation, increased control over our private lives makes the Individual less free. Could it be?
Now for the not so stupid person. The Occupy Global web site says to stay with the movement and you shall soon see there is much more to it than what meets the eye. This movement is not about social justice. Don't be duped. It is about "conscious evolution" which has a violent ideology. See facebook dot com /occupydangers for details.
Soooooo who are the 99% blaming for the downfall of our economy? .... if you can give me a list of names. and prove it.... you have accomplished something that will prove great to...... uhh.. nobody..... the fact is that it is merely impossible to convict that certain MULTI MILLIONAIRE of fraud or committing a crime. I believe that the Occupy movement means well but it is achieving nothing. the more they are out there they are slowing down american rebuilding process
Occupy Protestors are just as useless as the hippies that protested Viet Nam. Its not hard for you to do things for yourself, make an effort and not whine for hand outs. Nobody owes you a thing. You're against corporate greed, but you are hypocrites because you are being greedy yourselves, and envious. Envy of what other people have worked hard to achieve. If you think a Fortune 500 company is going to hand a job to someone who wouldn't even be qualified to run the fryer at McD's, you're wrong.
Well your OWS buddy taught you well... Same old mindless blabbering disguised with a few fancy words... You people are sooo close though! If you just connected the dots and realized the true root of the problem... The progressive left... They are all tied to the big failures, "Solyndra, GM, ect..." Sigh... = /
The USA is the people, those in the government forgot that. They answer to the highest bidder. We need to fix that. Return this country's government back to "For the People, By the People". We need to use our tax dollars on the improvement of us. Stop foreign aid, stop handouts (both to fail companies AND people who have collected welfare for over five years). That is OWS, if you think otherwise, you're wrong and probably just thinking what has been spoon fed to you by corporate media.
Look at the contributors to the presidential candidates. Heck, look at who the banks contribute to. Did you guys know that banks paid large sums of money to both Obama AND McCain. The banks don't care who wins, as long as it's a puppet politican. The politicans do NOT do what's in the best interest of the American people. They make decisions that fill their own pocketbooks. Our school systems and infrastructure are degrading, while we're giving out more money to corporations.
As a veteran who currently has a very good job, and is going to college for a better job, OWS is NOT about handouts. I was never handed anything in life, and I don't expect others to be handed free stuff either. The banks and corporations got bailouts, and most did not have to pay it back in full. If I get a loan, I have to payback 105%+ back. Why is this? The politicians are bought. They do not listen to us. Our country is neither a Democracy or a Republic.
I always wonder about these retarded OWS supporters. Did they never go to high school? Middle school? I'm not even expecting college-level here... I mean when I went to school, there were a few kids in every class that busted ass, got straight A's, did band, athletics etc. and were fucking superstars.
These kids are the ones who go on to become investment bankers. If you don't like it, then be ultra productive and do something about it. OWS is not a solution; figures that e-bimbos like it.
I'm the 99 and I completely disagree with ows. They are just trying to take money from the rich. If someone is succesful I'm not going to claim that it's unfair and tell them they should give me their money. If anything that is more unfair. Redistribution of wealth is the foundation of a socialist country, not a democratic republic. I hope I've proven my point.
I am 18 years old and my family is part of the 1%. But guess what! We are not profiting BECAUSE of the recession! And the other 99% arent unemployed and poor. Guess what, there is a tiny difference between the 1st and 2nd percent, but they are victimized? Classic example of a young liberal idiot. Its unfortunate most people my age are so misinformed!
occupy wall street is nonsense. corrprate greed? maybe so but competing is the very esence of capatalisim.. why would a company pay more to be "nice" and not greedy when the compition does not. These huge corrperations are in a war to secure profit... being your money. sure they may have obscene ammounts of wealth but you can't say you did not for see this in a capatalist nation like america.
Take into account their are over 20 politicians in DC that have held their office for over 20 years, some as much as 40 years; the 'professionalize politician' the founders set out to dispose of is very much present. Your right, it is a 99% v 1% issue. But the 1% is not Corporate 'fat cats', its the imbeciles we basically handed out country over to.
History shows us that comparatively, private owned business and products surpass Gov. goods and Unions. Yet what does Obama get us? More Unions -_-
Corporations are not all 'Steal from poor, give to rich', rather; 90% of the time corporations started as small businesses, and grew with their founders legitimate, non greedful success. That's the American Dream right?
Its the Government's Wasteful spending, and poor choices that lead to this issue, not Corporations. If theirs anything the Thylacine taught me, its that
1. Scapegoats are easy to blame with enough yelling
If you honestly believe Corporations run the US, I highly recommend you re-take an economics or US gov. courses you took. Did some corporations get bailed out that shouldn't have been? YES
But who bailed them out? Government. The Corporations are not nearly powerful enough to demand to be bailed out, they can only ask; it was up to the Gov. to decide how to spend the money.
Small (relatively) example of wasteful Gov. spending: Spending $2.6 mil. to teach CHINESE prostitutes to not get drunk
ok let's see.... Main cause of Recent Economic nose dive: Highly Liberal Congress, Corrupt politics, Obama Administration
Primary Cause of Such people getting elected/re-elected: Young Democrat Voters
Primary Age Group of Protesters: Young Democrat Voters
Irony is weird ain't it?
And before someone says it, no I did not like Bush, and yes he did several thing to make the economy worse. However Obama has done everything bush has (Wars, Spending), and increased it rapidly. No joke, look it up
Then you get pissed off people that are finally waking up, seeing the real corruption, educating themselves, threatening to revolt. Then martial law, then riots (real riots), then civil war, then (hopefully) revolution. And probably other events in between... idk... im not educated in this department. I'm more of a visual learner if you catch my drift...
@Thedreamisover1 Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
The truth is... This is all part of the bigger picture. There are uprisings all over the world right now. To just focus on one event (though it may be the most impacting) is ignorance. Really, OWS, in my opinion, will turn in to something much bigger, maybe part of a worldwide revolution. Imagine it as a muscle, the more it works the stronger it gets. So, you start with dumb liberal hippies, that believe it or not, are actually fighting for a cause (though they may not know it). Human rights.
when they mention the 1% they are speaking of INCOME earners.
Warren Buffet is the richest man on the planet, yet is NOT in the top 1% of INCOME earners.
He earns his WEALTH passivly, through investments.
This is EXACTLY why Buffet supports the occupy wall st. movement. His wealth wont be touched!!! Those of us trying to achieve the same, will get taxed to hell and back.
lol ok guys 99% (ironic!) of the people miss this...income equality is nowhere near as important as income mobility. income mobility in the us is highest in the world. essentially, if you want to get rich, then you have the best opportunity to do so here. the fact is this: the rich ARE getting the richer, but the poor are ALSO getting richer. thats how capitalism works.
To the commenters, just because someone is rich doesn't mean they don't deserve it or that they're greedy. What about the people who worked their asses off their entire lives to get to where they are? Suddenly they're a bad person because you don't have as much money as them? That's fucking ridiculous. & Don't forget that a lot of poor people are poor because they don't want to work. Not all, but a lot of them. Not everyone is blameless, or blamable in this situation.
If it is bringing awareness to people not having money I want to know who is it that didn't know that they where poor? And this is not punishing the rich, it's still waaaay to small. Pick out the corporations that are actually doing damage and occupy them. The national treasury, the Fed regulations office. The farming company that owns all the Soy beans and is arresting farmers for trying to make there own. Get specific or it's just a petulant child throwing a tantrum.
Sorry spricket24 but you didn't say anything. Who's the 1%, Bill Gates? Does he work on Wall Street? Hmmm I bet none of the 1% spend any time on wall-street unless they feel like it. It's not 99% vs 1%. If the poverty line is below $10,000.00 per year. My boss is the child of a millionaire, they are not the 1%. They own 7 + businesses on the major street in my town. They are apart of the greedy rich and OWS could blow up wall street and they would not be affected.
Corporate greed? If that is what it is about why are they not occupying those corporations? Why aren't they getting specific? Sitting on a public area next to a stock-exchange is just going make stock brokers have a harder time getting to work. The investment Bankers are not going to be affected at all. Your not sitting in the right spots. Your mad at corporations go occupy those corporations and DON'T BY THE PRODUCT!!!
I'm self-employed (attorney) in a tiny office who pays one paralegal 46K per year. I net 80K per year. I would make a lot more, but nearly 30% of my clients put down an insignificant retainer, and I never see the rest. I go to court and do the best job I can, regardless. The IRS and the state of NC take 44% of my 80K every year and piss it away on every failed program imaginable. I'll chip in for the greater good. I'm not the 1%, but taxes are killing me. It is impossible to grow a business.
And to clarify, yes corporate corruption is most definitely an issue, but when you speak with people at these events, they don't say anything about this. They want to be a pain in the ass and cry that they don't have the wealth. I have yet to find a person who conveys the meaning and purpose of the OWS movement so well as the video poster here. That EXPLANATION makes sense. The people you talk to actively protesting, they don't make a lick of sense.
These are my peers, the people I grew up with, the people I know better than anyone in Washington ever could. This is my generation...
Now with that said, I still don't know what the fuck you people are doing. Hey, how about you work your ass off and build something, then you can be in the 1% way far away from me. I'm part of the 99%, but this is just fucking stupid. You're mad at the wealthy? Get a fucking JOB AND STOP CRYING, no MVP, that'll hurt people's feelings everyones perfect generation
You can't decide whether you're the 99% or the 1%. The 1% refers to the fact that one percent of our population holds fort-two percent of the nation's wealth. And the 99% refers to the fact that ninety-nine percent of our populationhas obly over half of the nation's wealth. It has to do with class divides not a choice about what you think of the economy
its kinda like those orginazations that ask money for warchild ore anny other foundation where they show poor treated animals and such things at the start of those campanes they where true and some stil are but manny advertise for there profit its kida like with the whole bank money jobs crisis to same thing is happening with that there exploiding it to make profit somehow but thats kida what u said in youre vid that last part
I support Occupy Wall Street's ideologies and criticisms of our society, for the most part, but they have made themselves look stupid, and Faux News and Anonymous have perpetuated this notion. And it makes the good sociopolitical philosophies that it promotes look bad. I support the police shutting it down. But then a more subtle movement needs to come about, one with a more intelligent base. One that doesn't make a mockery of anarchism and socialism, so that they can come to fruition.
I liked because of her voice. OWS hoping to be a catalyst for social/economical change is still a laugh though.
"Solidarity Forever". Yet sometimes you'll hear that the movement is about anti-corruption. And then you'll hear talks of I am in heavy student debt, and I can't find a job (aside from menial ones, I'm above that). And you'll hear talks of, "my credit debt is too much, I don't know how to pay it all back."
If OWS event wants to succeed, it needs to stop being "leaderless".
Your right shoulder looks kinda cold. You should cover up. Watch an Adam Vs. The Man Video... on Occupy LA. The gentleman featured breaks this down better than any I've ever seen. The "right" says government is the problem. The "left" says private enterprise is the problem. But the convoluted truth is that, as the gentleman says, "the nexus" between big government and big corporate enterprise is where the crux of this issue lies. Nice job, but e1 deserves a more nuanced explanation.
are you the 1% or are you the 99%? Whatever it is, as long as you're with the majority, you'll always be correct. Yea, mainstream, pop music, bandwagon. Let's just have a popularity contest, and ignore everything else. With your logic, we should tax the minority more than the majority. We should give majority more opportunities over minorities. Here is a thought: how about equal treatment under the law?
@RedRoosterRoad We should just call it Health Care Services, because a lot of people actually believe that Health Care is a right. If you want the Ultimate Solution, then we need to let each state decide what it wants, so we can stop this endless argument. Just because something isn't a right, it doesn't mean a group of people can't get together and share the cost of the service. Some examples of such include fire fighting and law enforcement.
ya did you know that the same banks that got 700 billion bailout, they got 1.7 trillion the years preceding. the ties between politicians in power: lobbyists, the green movement, and the war machine are rubbing against the very foundation of the principles that made this country great
Mr Cybrix "corporate greed" makes american families work harder for less money. They struggle to feed and rise their kids and pay for their helthcare while corporate owners become weltier. Nobody is making this up, statistically this is what is happening.
The one thing that made this country better than the rest of the planet was its emphasis on individual liberty, the freedom to do whatever you want without impeding the liberties of others, not democracy. This focus went away, the economy collapsed, and the so-called 99% began to suffer when government began to interfere where it doesn't belong. By fighting "corporate greed" instead of government interference, you invite more corruption, and more suffering. Educate yourself.
Hey video girl, the 1% are also worse off due to this weaker economy. Most wealthy people make less money when the economy is weaker. If average people have less money to spend then business cannot sell them as much stuff. Do you understand? Capitalists want people to have jobs and be ok, those are the CUSTOMERS. Government with their stupid ideas like SUB-PRIME loans messed up this economy, not the business sector.
@eyahfoamy Yes that's right. Businesses of all size do worse when the economy is weak. If you don't have a job they can't sell you things. Many people at Lehman were part of the 1%, they lost their jobs. They are worse off than before. Many other business failed as well but rarely does that make the 6 o'clock news.
@Apple2Beep Yeah I do, I read about the economy every day and have been for many years. I do empathize with the people who are suffering but the OWS crowd is angry with the wrong people. BIG GOVERNMENT created sub-prime which ruined the economy. The Clinton administration called for the loosening of the credit standards which created the sub-prime crisis - this was done through the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999.
@theme542 Like a typical OWS supporter you lack any facts or information. You simply assert that I am wrong and back it up with nothing. Nor have you identified the specific point with which you disagree. Are you a high school student?
@horizon7777777 you say the government is to blame, but do you realise many in the government also have/had roles at the big banks and did lobbying in many other institutions to steal a hell of a lot of money from the crisis? I have friends who feel like you but after watching "Inside Job" which shows the corruption in politics they are beginning to understand why we Occupy. I beg you to watch it to understand the financial/government corruption, most big billionaires are in the film.
@Xality I am certainly aware that there are people who have bounced between government and business. You mention "corruption in politics", well I agree with that. So why aren't you occupying city hall? My key point is that the government during the Clinton administration created the subprime industry by greatly reducing the lending standards at Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. This was done through the Graham-Leach-Bliley act of 1999 which Clinton insisted be changed.
So, the OWS protestor's idea of peaceably protesting is to trash parks, break the law, waste taxpayer dollars, waste the time and resources of our police and sanitation crews, scream at kids trying to get to school, hurt small business by blocking their customers....are you serious? This video is a joke. Maybe that's how it STARTED, but their "movement" goes way beyond corporate greed. I wonder what department store she got that tank from? Hmmmm, hypocrite.
@dakine1173 has no complaints against the Corporate/Government allience which has financially RAPED America. It is a mathematical fact that tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United States of America by an entire intigrated trading, taxing and banking system which has been created by both political parties over two decades.
Video Title:"Dylan Ratigan's Epic Rant On Political Corruption"
Take away God in Christ in the Schools, Christianity in Congress, Christian in public preaching = Disobedient in Schools, Corruption in Congress, and protest and demonstration in public.
Im all for state wide healthcare, getting the deficit down to where theres no more debt (From Bush! The asshole!) so there wont be anymore cutbacks in our schools, healthcare, and social security. Wheres socialism with out capitalism? And you look very pretty without eyeliner, very au naturale!
i think your missing the point that ows people want to redistribute wealth.. i say get a job and work for your money. 50% of americans do not even pay taxes.. I guess im also a 50 percenter...I pay taxes and work for crap pay and cant afford healthcare.. I dont expect anything to be given to me. you have to earn success in america. kids these days are spolied.
ah, I think you may have been dopted. The OWS crowds are the lemmings of BO's organization to take the heat off of him. OWS should be down in Washington demanding justice. Washington has the power to punish but they choose to look the other way because they are bought and paid for by Wall Street. Throw the bums out and get representatives that will enforce the laws we have on the books. Wake up people. The road to recovery is replacing the people in our government. :-}
@spricket24 So ur telling me that 99% of America cant pay bills or anything? Riiiiight :) You really need to educate yourself. Seriously. You have the rights to protest and freedom of speech...not cause and become a public neusance. Oh, and loitering :) so please go to school
there has never been anytime anywhere by any color or creed where Communism or Socialism has delivered it's false promise of prosperity. I've been all over the world and been in Socialist countries, they are no where near as prosperous, strong nor peaceful as our current economic structure. This is about a bunch of people who are living with their choices in life and are completely ignorant on how economics really works. German National Socialists did the same thing 1920's-30's. STUDY AND WORK!
Well, considering the top 5% of wage earners pay over half the income tax in this nation (U.S.). I'm with neither the 1% or whatever this 99% stuff is. I'm with the 53%.
I am NOT rich.... and I do NOT believe in economic equality. I believe that I have to EARN my keep by planning intelligently, being inventive, working hard and following through. If YOU came up with a business or idea that made millions... or billions... would you freely "SPREAD YOUR WEALTH" because you did better than others? Maybe you would if you saw a need that you could help with... and it made you feel good to do so. But would you want to do it based on the DEMANDS of an insolent child?
Excellent breakdown of the major umbrella, whats under that umbrella is everyone ideas, causes that have been shelved for years due to the one percent Thank you for this. You should spend time at a "welcome occupy" tents because people do really show up at Occupys just wondering!
subbed. I'm glad you did your research instead of just listening to the mainstream media. I've been following it from the very beginning, I've never been an activist until it started, and I've learned so much.
@NoCigar1991 really did your research more like a biased view... Not only a bunch of people complaining that they don't get what the want anymore. A great majority of these spoiled brats have got what the want since they were born. Try to tell me exactly what they want and there plan... Wait... they don't have a plan. So what's the point of this? Except the fact that their putting their christmas list on a sign and holding it up.
@THISizRAIN. You''re just as biased, since you're not trying to take a neutral stance. Well if you don't know what they want or why they're protesting then you haven't done your research at all (biased or not). There is information out there.
Their plan is to get your attention and promote other actions. They obviously have the people's attention. Whether or not you want to find out what's going on or just try and poke holes and ridicule is your decision.
Anyone who is against Occupy Wall Street doesn't know the problems in the economic system, being in their tight bubble of ignorance. Economic inequality is higher now than it was right before the Great Depression. Get ready for Great Depression #2 if Occupy Wall Street fails.
Soo apparently another definition of "occupy" (that has fallen out of favor) is basically to have sex with. So, Occupy Wall Street could be interpreted to mean "Screw Wall Street." Makes perfect sense.
I think that this video is very, very good and I'm giving it 99.1% because while implicit in this discourse: power, control, influence were omitted as a summary from the title "corporate -corrupt- greed" by the movement and here.
I think this whole 99% and 1% is dumb because I don't fit in any of those categories. I'm not rich nor poor enough to go camping in the cold streets. I work like a normal average joe, and have never been laid off, and if I ever did, I would just go look for another job, no biggie.
@bLitz72 there in is the issue,.. you have never been laid off,..so you have not had to go look for a job in a while,.. you say your not rich nor poor and i feel that as i am in the same boat, however,.. it isn't just about me so i have to think what is fair for all not just my own comfort,..when i am faced with the injustice and greed of the 1% i can not just say ,.. i'm doing ok ,.. it would be like watching a theft and being ok because it wasn't me that got robbed
Politics, Karen? You asked for it. My problem with OWS is that it doesn't get at the heart of the problems, but is simply attacking a symptom. Corporations largely gain their 'power' from government privileges and subsidies. Instead of Occupying Wall Street, they really need to understand what our government does, and the Federal Reserve, which controls the money supply and interest rates. Greed isn't the problem--coercive power is.
Hey notice what the girl in this video said at the end... """"Are you the 1% or the 99%? Thats for you to decide...."""" AND YOU ARE RIGHT ON! it is for you to decide weather to work for what you get or just sit there and complain about it wanting everything for free...
the main message of OWS is wanting to get the money out of politics, end payoffs and kickbacks election fraud and perhaps you should watch this video again you obviously didn't listen to it or any of the people actually protesting ,..perhaps you prefer glenn beck and fox news? all i can say is this " listen more, judge less, and don't buy into newscorp propaganda,..
@MrMentalflossed The main message of OWS is wanting to get money out of those who earned it.... no matter how much they have worked for it..... HEY IF THEY WORKED FOR IT .... THEN THEY EARNED IT.... get off your lazy ass and work for what you get... ADVANCE IN YOUR JOB..... if you want to succeed you will... if you want everything given to you.... then go get yourself some section 8 housing and be part of those...who are bringing this country down....
@TheCoreyBritton oh really ,.. ya sound like somebody is talking about digging deep into your pockets,.. so i guess your one of the 1%,..no? then i suppose a 1% tax rise on the top 1% is wrong because its ok to raise the taxes 5% on everybody else instead, unless your making over 250k a year you are basicly telling me ,.. PLEASE OH PLEASE let them take more and more money from me and not those with the millions and billions,..sounds pretty weak to me hoss.
Most of the homeless and rejects under Brooklyn Bridge or on the streets are self-inflicted poverty. In the past, I used to get down to the Bridge with my teapots, sharing with these homeless a cup of tea and they were very pleased. Most of them were under social relief but they finished their substance the very moment it was given to them. They got high and drunk and become broke again. How much relief would be enough for these punks?
OWS=Flea baggers are blood sucking parasites who think the government should give them free health care, free college education, and wants the government to come in and fix their miserable lives.
Tea party= Hard working Americans tired of being over taxed over regulated, irresponsible government and they want to keep most of the money they make and they want to government out of their lives so they can solve their own problems.
@jeffra85 Perhaps the government should increase social relief for the low 99% protesters than giving to the high corporations for their bail out. We live in a generation of covetous people. (Psalm 62:1.[9] Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.) The low doesn't want a job and the high is greedy of gain.
@rcasoundhmv perhaps the government should get out of the relief business all together and stop giving handouts to anyone. Let the private sector do business and the government sector control the treaties etc. I am tired of whiners on both ends of the spectrum. I much prefer the TEA party to this unruly group of rejects. All these rejects in the OWS dont want a democratic society; they want socialism. Why dont they move to canada or Germany etc and live there under socialist governments
@jeffra85 Perhaps the government should increase social relief for the low 99% protesters than giving to the high corporations for their bail out. We live in a generation of covetous people. (Psalm 62:[9] Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.) The low doesn't want a job and the high is greedy of gain.
@jeffra85 Try telling one of them that, and then they go at you saying your just a spoil brat blah blah blah. I swear...a lot of...it's like talk to a wall...a whole street full of walls...see what I did there. :D
@jeffra85 And that`s exactly how the corporate wants you to be. Stupid idiot who only knows how to do the job. They don`t need you and they don`t want you to think more than they need you too for THEIR own benefit and not yours, ... etc etc... overall just work for yourself.
@jeffra85 oh really will then tell me what do you do if you can't find a job, i find it sad that people like you are in this world. you know what karma is a bich and so are you.
@candyredbutterfly You can try working places "WHERE YOU DONT WANT TO WORK" I know plenty of people around here whom I could have gotten on at my old fast food jobs, grocery stores, golf courses.... but they think they are better than that and just say "I DONT WANT TO WORK THERE" WELL QUIT COMPLAINING ABOUT NO JOB THEN IDIOTS.....
@TheCoreyBritton so you then advocate serfdom ,.. you are saying that peple should do whatever job they can get regardless if they are paid enough to live on ? you can't support a family on mcdonalds pay,.. you are missing a large part of this movement,.. any job hat one does that takes 40 hours a week of your effort should pay enough to live on , the reason they don't is the profits are to a huge degree horded at the top,.. the pay lobyist to ensure they get their way on labor laws ect.
@MrMentalflossed work 2 jobs or even 3... I do.... get over yourself.., you are no better than anyone else.... and if you are worth the damn.... then you will succeed, if you dont succeed then move from where you are.... but I expect to hear excuses....... I DID IT AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO COLLEGE EDUCATION AT ALL.....
@jeffra85 You evidently don't know those people. I talked with a 40 year old British man (this is in Toronto) who was fired because he reported a workplace abuse. He is still unemployed because he got a sort of mental shock and needed medical help. You think he's lazy? You think he's an idiot? He's one of the smartest people I met. He even had a suit and all (no tatoos or piercings). This guy isn't some hippie, he is a regular person.
You protesters are talking about liberty and freedom. But strange enough, there are some uploaders who are a little dictator themselves, blocked comments that argued against them. Is there real freedom of speech then?
I have decided for myself. I am the 99% BUT I WILL NOT PROTEST. Corporates are greedy but Protesters are greedy of more, likewise. Put them together THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. I will stay away from protest that will weaken my country if not causing a downfall. But I hope there will be changes made against corporate greed and greed in the high places.
@gjonesy9 Well, perhaps Och thought to pay to all the chief officers off than to declare profit which will subject the Corporation to greater tax. When this thing goes to the extreme, corporate officers will be overpaid handsomely. I call this: The Chief Embezzlement Officer (same initial CEO). Though legally, it is not unlawful when it is properly minuted and recorded but morally, it is wrong. Morally speaking, it is greed. The sad thing is this that people generally are greedy to speculate.
Silvio Berlusconi is the second longest-serving Prime Minister of Italy, a position he has held on three separate occasions: from 1994 to 1995, from 2001 to 2006 and currently since 2008. Technically, Berlusconi has been sworn in (4) four times.<-lol)

Occupy Protestors are just as useless as the hippies that protested Viet Nam. Its not hard for you to do things for yourself, make an effort and not whine for hand outs. Nobody owes you a thing. You're against corporate greed, but you are hypocrites because you are being greedy yourselves, and envious. Envy of what other people have worked hard to achieve. If you think a Fortune 500 company is going to hand a job to someone who wouldn't even be qualified to run the fryer at McD's, you're wrong.

No1Complainer 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
As a veteran who currently has a very good job, and is going to college for a better job, OWS is NOT about handouts. I was never handed anything in life, and I don't expect others to be handed free stuff either. The banks and corporations got bailouts, and most did not have to pay it back in full. If I get a loan, I have to payback 105%+ back. Why is this? The politicians are bought. They do not listen to us. Our country is neither a Democracy or a Republic.

These kids are the ones who go on to become investment bankers. If you don't like it, then be ultra productive and do something about it. OWS is not a solution; figures that e-bimbos like it.

I'm the 99 and I completely disagree with ows. They are just trying to take money from the rich.

2. Scapegoats make for a very convenient excuse
Tarbtano 2 months ago
If you honestly believe Corporations run the US, I highly recommend you re-take an economics or US gov. courses you took. Did some corporations get bailed out that shouldn't have been? YES
But who bailed them out? Government. The Corporations are not nearly powerful enough to demand to be bailed out, they can only ask; it was up to the Gov. to decide how to spend the money.
Small (relatively) example of wasteful Gov. spending: Spending $2.6 mil. to teach CHINESE prostitutes to not get drunk

The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead.

And then you'll hear talks of I am in heavy student debt, and I can't find a job (aside from menial ones, I'm above that). And you'll hear talks of, "my credit debt is too much, I don't know how to pay it all back."

Dear dumbass:
The one thing that made this country better than the rest of the planet was its emphasis on individual liberty, the freedom to do whatever you want without impeding the liberties of others, not democracy. This focus went away, the economy collapsed, and the so-called 99% began to suffer when government began to interfere where it doesn't belong. By fighting "corporate greed" instead of government interference, you invite more corruption, and more suffering. Educate yourself.
Cybrix 2 months ago
Hey video girl, the 1% are also worse off due to this weaker economy. Most wealthy people make less money when the economy is weaker. If average people have less money to spend then business cannot sell them as much stuff. Do you understand? Capitalists want people to have jobs and be ok, those are the CUSTOMERS. Government with their stupid ideas like SUB-PRIME loans messed up this economy, not the business sector.

@horizon7777777 you say the government is to blame, but do you realise many in the government also have/had roles at the big banks and did lobbying in many other institutions to steal a hell of a lot of money from the crisis? @Xality I am certainly aware that there are people who have bounced between government and business. You mention "corruption in politics", well I agree with that. So why aren't you occupying city hall? My key point is that the government during the Clinton administration created the subprime industry by greatly reducing the lending standards at Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. This was done through the Graham-Leach-Bliley act of 1999 which Clinton insisted be changed.

DonnieBennett1969 3 months ago
Excellent breakdown of the major umbrella, whats under that umbrella is everyone ideas, causes that have been shelved for years due to the one percent Thank you for this. You should spend time at a "welcome occupy" tents because people do really show up at Occupys just wondering!

subbed. I'm glad you did your research instead of just listening to the mainstream media. I've been following it from the very beginning, I've never been an activist until it started, and I've learned so much.
But yeah, thanks for the support.
NoCigar1991 3 months ago 4
@NoCigar1991 really did your research more like a biased view... Not only a bunch of people complaining that they don't get what the want anymore. A great majority of these spoiled brats have got what the want since they were born. Try to tell me exactly what they want and there plan... Wait... they don't have a plan. So what's the point of this? Except the fact that their putting their christmas list on a sign and holding it up.
THISizRAIN 2 months ago

GishabrunLOB 3 months ago
Soo apparently another definition of "occupy" (that has fallen out of favor) is basically to have sex with. So, Occupy Wall Street could be interpreted to mean "Screw Wall Street." Makes perfect sense.

To me, that’s communism. -_-

I think that this video is very, very good and I'm giving it 99.1% because while implicit in this discourse: power, control, influence were omitted as a summary from the title "corporate -corrupt- greed" by the movement and here.
Laziestcrow 3 months ago
I think this whole 99% and 1% is dumb because I don't fit in any of those categories. I'm not rich nor poor enough to go camping in the cold streets. I work like a normal average joe, and have never been laid off, and if I ever did, I would just go look for another job, no biggie.
bLitz72 3 months ago
@bLitz72 there in is the issue,.. you have never been laid off,..so you have not had to go look for a job in a while,.. you say your not rich nor poor and i feel that as i am in the same boat, however,.. it isn't just about me so i have to think what is fair for all not just my own comfort,..when i am faced with the injustice and greed of the 1% i can not just say ,.. i'm doing ok ,.. it would be like watching a theft and being ok because it wasn't me that got robbed
MrMentalflossed 3 months ago

TheCoreyBritton 3 months ago
@TheCoreyBritton wow did you drink the koolaid,..lol
the main message of OWS is wanting to get the money out of politics, end payoffs and kickbacks election fraud and perhaps you should watch this video again you obviously didn't listen to it or any of the people actually protesting ,..perhaps you prefer glenn beck and fox news? all i can say is this " listen more, judge less, and don't buy into newscorp propaganda,..
MrMentalflossed 3 months ago
@MrMentalflossed The main message of OWS is wanting to get money out of those who earned it.... no matter how much they have worked for it..... HEY IF THEY WORKED FOR IT .... THEN THEY EARNED IT.... get off your lazy ass and work for what you get... ADVANCE IN YOUR JOB..... if you want to succeed you will... if you want everything given to you.... then go get yourself some section 8 housing and be part of those...who are bringing this country down....
TheCoreyBritton 3 months ago

Which side do you fall on?

@jeffra85 Perhaps the government should increase social relief for the low 99% protesters than giving to the high corporations for their bail out. We live in a generation of covetous people. (Psalm 62:1.[9] Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.) The low doesn't want a job and the high is greedy of gain.
rcasoundhmv 3 months ago
@rcasoundhmv perhaps the government should get out of the relief business all together and stop giving handouts to anyone. Let the private sector do business and the government sector control the treaties etc. I am tired of whiners on both ends of the spectrum. I much prefer the TEA party to this unruly group of rejects. All these rejects in the OWS dont want a democratic society; they want socialism. Why dont they move to canada or Germany etc and live there under socialist governments

@jeffra85 And that`s exactly how the corporate wants you to be. Stupid idiot who only knows how to do the job. They don`t need you and they don`t want you to think more than they need you too for THEIR own benefit and not yours, ... etc etc... overall just work for yourself.

TheCoreyBritton 3 months ago
@TheCoreyBritton so you then advocate serfdom ,.. you are saying that peple should do whatever job they can get regardless if they are paid enough to live on ? you can't support a family on mcdonalds pay,.. you are missing a large part of this movement,.. any job hat one does that takes 40 hours a week of your effort should pay enough to live on , the reason they don't is the profits are to a huge degree horded at the top,.. the pay lobyist to ensure they get their way on labor laws ect.
MrMentalflossed 3 months ago
@MrMentalflossed work 2 jobs or even 3...

Is there real freedom of speech then?
rcasoundhmv 3 months ago

Did you happen to look at Och-Ziff Capital Management’s incomce Statement?
In 2007 the company reported 1.5 Billion in total Revenue.
In 2007 the Executive Compensation of that company was:
$2,123,474,920 Billion. <--lol)
Here's another simple Formula for you:
Operating Performance Ratio...
Sales/Revenue Per Employee.
