I love this episode. Those judges were in for a warm surprise come time for a 'Nature Call.' They were going to feel some sting and burn on the back porch also.LOL
It would be better, if he goes easy on them on spiciness. But I still don't agree about how he said about garlic, garlic is great with many things including fruit.
Yes.. i remembered theres this battle.. theme was the blue crab.. iron chef jap.. michiba lost.. And.. if i am not wrong.. theres another battle.. iron chef chinese against a female chef.. Chen Lost.. But that was the earlier battles.. she challenged him quite a number of times..
i LOVE pineapple. would've loved to taste Chen's pureed one. yeah...i thought the Challenger had it, too. either way, it was another great battle. thanks Archo89! ^_^
I appreciated the fact he wore just a plain ol t-shirt. At first I was wary of him, but after I understood his philosophy and dishes I too appreciated his appearance on the show.
Chen was way more creative. That's why he won. The one thing that I do really want to try from the challenger though is the grilled pineapple creme brulee with coconut...yummmmmmmmmmy.
good battle. many of you say that the thai chef should have won, but can you imagine eating pineapple after pineapple dishes? it will damage your taste bud a little. even though the theme is pineapple, but the thai chef dont have to bring out the maximum flavor everytime. so i think the verdict is fair. chen did put a lot of thoughts into the theme and even think about the taste of pineapple and what happen if you consume too many. i dont like kishi. she is asking for too much for just 1 hour.
The challenger bears an uncanny resemblance with my Japanese ex-bf . haha

they're japanese, they're not familiar with thai food and flavors.

I disagree. I think the Thai chef did his research and knows his Thai food enough.

The first dish really hurt the challenger due to using too much hot pepper unless the judges were from southeast asia.

Whoa, a sweep? Loved that Iron Chef Chen won.. what ever happened to the pineapple bowl appetizer he made? (w/ the shrimp and bacon)
but perhaps Kaga or whoever should've rethought of having such a bold Thai chef come on - when it was obvious the taste panel can't handle hot food.

yeah was wondering where that went was looking forward to that dish tasting... wow he pulled that win out, lucky the challenger was a bit spicy
