What a magnificient set of hounds. Beautiful...deep chests, arched backs with powerful loins, and wonderful shine to their coats. These athletes are bred and in shape to run all day and night. Surely they are not less happy than an arthritic housedog, 20-30 lbs overweight with no life, only food and so-called love. Most housedogs are full of parasites of all kinds, never get used or walked, while their owners are on the computer going after the people who own these fantastic & happy critters
i love this clip and the love the fact that the handlers have taken time out in their lives to knowledge dogs have a life too and these dogs obviously have high respect for the handlers love the clip if i was rich i would be sending in loads of cash to help out with their food great work handlers again love it ( :
@CALIGRLxxx Were any of the dogs hit?Are the dogs running from the whip in fear of being hit?Would the dogs follow the handlers closer to the food if they thought they were going to be hit?THESE DOGS ARE NEVER HIT with the whip. People are trained to assume abuse with things like this, when whips can be good training tools and never used for abuse. WIth horses a hander will use a whip to lunge a horse in a circle. The horse is never hit but the whip is used to give the horse commands.
THE DOGS ARE NEVER BEATEN! THE WHIPS ARE AN EXTENSION OF THE HANDLERS ARMS, MUCH LIKE SOMEBODY WOULD HOLD OUT THEIR ARMS TO STOP 1 DOG, BUT WITH THIS MANY THEY NEED "LONGER ARMS". VOICE COMMANDS WON'T WORK OVER BARKING. THE DOGS RESPECT THE WHIP BECAUSE THEY RESPECT THE HANDLERS, NOT OUT OF FEAR OF THE WHIP! AS YOU CAN SEE THE TAILS ARE UP IN HAPPINESS. TAILS BETWEEN LEGS INDICATES FEAR! I HATE ALL THE STUPID IGNORANT COMMENTS!
All you people who say these dogs are well treated should have their heads examined...those dogs wouldn't touch the food with those whips being swung around...wonder why? Would love to see some of the videos on how those dogs are trained...I'm guessing those whips have a lot to do with it!!!
@MrLucRad THE DOGS ARE NEVER WHIPPED!!!!! The whip is used to extend the handler's arms, much like you would hold out your arms to stop 1 or 2 dogs, but with this many his arms won't reach so he can wave the whip back and forth as a visual to the dogs. They are well-mannered to the whip because they have RESPECT for the handler NOT FEAR! Tails up indicates not fear, but happiness. Ignorant people should not comment on what they don't know.
@MrLucRad Have you ever wondered why we not touch hot stuff?, if you tell your kid "you're gonna burn yourself, dont touch this" it might work once, or twice...maybe three times, but there will be a time when your child is gonna do it, why? simply out of curiosity, because your words wont be enough and HE'LL BURN HIMSEMF OR SHE'LL BURN HERSELF, and then WILL LEARN the lesson.
@MrLucRad same happens with this dogs, the whip is being swung and its a warning, new dogs might not know it can hurt to be touched by it, but once they know they start to respect it, you dont necessarily have to beat them, its like when im cleaning my backyard, i use a hose and never used it to get my dogs wet, however they do not come near it, why? because they have experienced what it does, why? simply cause they have gotten in its way without knowing what it could do and it has scared them.
This looks terrible- I am sorry- 120 hungry dogs eat at command - otherwise they will be beaten- some stay hungry I am sure- I think people must find some other hobbies than to observe how those dogs just die to eat normally without killing themselves for food. Poor amusement.
@50Scarlet If you actually research what is going on here you will realize that this is taking place at a famous french chateau where they are raising the royal hounds. They are NEVER beaten. The whip is an extension of their arm in order to hold back the pack like you would hold out your arms to stop 1 or 2 dogs. The dogs are happy with tails up. They are not abused. They feed in this way because that is the centuries old tradition.
@eateetor thank you for your explanation- I know those facts as you do- still it doesn't change the fact that the procedure of eating for those dogs is brutal-tradition or no tradition! And I never said the dogs are beaten- they might be - and besides- about what extension of whose arms you are talking? The owner's arms? The dogs are excited with their tails up as they do on hunting-true- but why simple feeding must be so aggressive? Don't they have enough servants or place in the Château?
@50Scarlet What is done in 1 place may be taboo in another. This goes for all aspects of life with humans and dogs. Just because you would do it differently does not mean this is WRONG. What is important is the dogs are well fed and happy. Many in USA humanize their dogs and want them to be treated like our own children (myself included). Just because this place doesn't do that doesn't mean the dogs are abused. Quite frankly to dogs are MORE likely to enjoy the pack mentality of their ancestors
@rich88b All the dogs get plenty to eat. For 1, as you can see, there are no emaciated dogs. Also, if you research what is going on and where this is you will realize that these are the royal french hounds at chateau cheverny. There is enough chicken for all dogs so speed is actually not the issue, although it appears that way because of the mad rush. But as one dog gets its piece then another dog can have a turn. They dont gorge.
@NCRedneck25 Well behaved and well mannered hounds. Centuries old tradition of raising the french royal hounds at chateau cheverny! Never abused or beaten, only well disciplined to the master.
@doglass3 No emaciated dogs. Research royal hounds at chateau cheverny. They actually dont gorge and leave some underfed. There is chicken as well as kibble and when one gets a piece then another gets a turn. They are not underfed where they will be aggressive about keeping weaker dogs away. They all are happy and well-fed so there is no need for aggression. You must work for PETA. They never research what is actually happening. Most situations are not as abusive as they appear.
DenisDMN....can you imagine what guts it took to open fire on british soldgiers (sp?) ...as much as I hate the corrupt gov.we now have...which is making a mockery of the constitution...I just can't see me being the one who takes an ak to congress...and yet...if we don't rise up...we will soon all be prisoners........................
I find this very interesting...the dogs don't know it, but they could easily over-power the handlers....Just like a nation of wimpy citizens allowing a handful of corrupt politicians and bureaucrats to hold them at bay !
@shackashackado that's the best picture you could get from this...gg dude, I totally agree with you...the system's concept comes to mind when you see this sh*t...the fact that they have normal people constantly live in fear so that they behave as do these dogs right here...very good point
@shackashackado interesting thought... however i feel a bad comparison for the hounds would soon realize that there would be no more food. a domesticated animal i fear would not survive long foraging for its own... however i do agree with that "nation of people blah blah blah...."
@irish420Hitman i have heard of feral animals. i've also heard of PETA. for some reason they have slightly different data than you do. it seems that they have this huge campaign based on data that completely contradicts what you stated. they seem to think that feral animals have a really hard time surviving and are found (quite commonly) diseased and malnourished. you could easily google "feral dog" and see some presumably fake evidence of this... peta propaganda no doubt.
@shackashackado It is possible, but I don't think a group of hounds are going to attack their handlers. Hounds are very nice dogs and they know the people there love them.-
@shackashackado yeah...? and then what? the dogs all end up starving and probably die? Go out and do something about your issues friend, instead of complaining about it on the internet!
The cruelist thing about this is the damage done to the kennel hunt staff EAR DRUMS. Every kennel man i know is fecking deaf. noisey hounds in small yards bad recipe
They're not whipping the hounds, just waving the whips around. This is NOT common practise and was obviously being done as a tourist attraction. Still awesome sight...
