There are a lot of real conservatives out there. Most of them don't get elected because they don't play ball by giving handouts to corporations and other demographics. So it stands to reason that there aren't many "sightings." You do see more true liberals because it's rather easy to get elected by promising to rob "those other people" to give handouts to select people.
