  • Wait why did Frankin say he never had a Mech to pilot doesn't the toad count as a mech

  • @ArmondoeCruze88 No, the Elemental (or 'Toadie') suit is classified as Battle Armour. Much different than a BattleMech.

  • Crusader had LRM 15 racks in the arms Plus the Dashsi could carry any number if weapon types in its arms love the omni mech

  • On top of IS and Clan names for the same mech. Omni Mechs were special due to the ability of switching out load-outs via component bays. Normal battlemechs were created with a specific variant thus extremely expensive to change weapon load-outs. Omni mech were also uncommon and expensive to make so were only used for front line fights. The rest of the clans were standard battlemenchs.

  • @MageryGuy So only a few of the clans like Jade Falcon and Wolf used them?

  • @TheGroundedAviator Yes and no. Only the four primary assaulting clans had the majority of the omnimech. Even then they only used them on assault and invasion missions. Clan standard mechs would take up the reigns of garrisoning a planet. All clans had omnimech before the assault. Wolf was just the smartest in using theirs.

  • @MageryGuy So they were just limited in numbers then? Who were the other two? I'm no exbert, just watched this series as a kid, by the way do you think this will make a great film trigily?

  • 18:09 look like that just get washed away..........

  • WHAT? devotion to family and friends NOT NATURAL!? a warrior must always act for the glory of entire clan!? These clansman are huge hypocrites! They always seem more concerned with their own personal honor than the well-being of their comrades-in-arms!

  • If its for the better of their clans they will attack anything honorable or not

  • at 01.56... how come the people aboard are not sucket into the void of space.. WTF physics..

  • Do they not remember lasers do not need ammo?

  • "Any sign of our Banshee a squadron"

He called two aerospace fighters as squadron...

  • everybody shhhhhhhh!! listen? what that?

PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW

    THAT'S WHAT!

  • little timberwolf vs gigantic Clanner overpowered raWR!!!?

are you kidding me? anything can take down timberwolf, it's a human-legged scout mech! if it at least had that bird-leg design it could run fast as hell and dodge, but for real? humanoid legs? damn that's dumb. and considering how tiny it is, one good shot from a heavy gauss could eliminate it easily

  • wait scratch that, I was thinking of the wolfhounds the inner sphere was using not the timberwolf (a.k.a Mad Cat by the I.S). though ya gotta admit there are a lot of wolfhounds getting blown the hell up in this. anyway, the timberwolf is usually not being piloted by an expert in the series so it can't be used to it's fullest potential most of the time.

  • @manodeldios666 yeah the series makers propably hate light mechs so they always have to fight the clan mechs and get pwnt

  • @Buemmo Do us all a favour and shut up before commenting.. You're only talking out of your arse

  • @manodeldios666 Actually, the Timber Wolf's leg joints are that of a bird, not a person.

  • wow the Thor IIc (the commander clan guys mech) is WAY overpowered in this same with the vulture whilst the timber wolf and hunchback IIC is so weak!!!

  • Man Hunchback IIC's can't catch a break can they?

  • man timber wolf in this series are so weak

  • @jonnyrbgomes yeah I tot the Mad Cats had ER PPCs instead of ER Large Lasers, at least for the Clan Smoke Jaguar Mad Cats on Port Arthur(MechCommander1)

  • @iHateSpoilerz Mad Cats have PPC's. Clan Timber Wolves are OmniMechs, and thus can choose to use R Large Lasers if they wish to.

  • @KellAnderson Mad Cats and Timber Wolves are the same damn mech.

  • @KellAnderson mad cats are the IS names, timber wolf is the clan name. GET IT RIGHT

  • @iHateSpoilerz Large Lasers and PPCs are both common weapons to find mounted on the arms of a Timber Wolf (also known as Mad Cat). There's at least one official variant with arm-mounted SRMs (might be Streak, I can't remember). And being a Clan OmniMech, it can be easily customised to suit a pilot's preference, unlike most Inner Sphere BattleMechs.

  • @oblivi0ndoll Arm-mounted SRMs? Hmm that's a first I've heard. Usually all the missiles are in the racks.

  • @iHateSpoilerz Missile racks don't have to be mounted in the torso. It's possible to have arm-mounted LRMs, but as far as I'm aware, there aren't any official Mech variants which do that. I know there are some with SRMs in the arms though.

  • I always thought Pyotr was the best clan character in the show... it would have been awesome had they used him like Zero...

  • All this Servo-whining is annoying.

  • Adam wouldnt give an inch. Youd be wasting your time. he'd probly kill himself then let himself be taken by the clans... any IS mechwarrior worth his mech would rather die then serve the very beasts he fought as a slave.

  • Addtionally Ianboswell, Nicolai wouldn't have had to hijack a dropship and then ambush Adam Steiner on his own if he was a Wolf In Exile, because we would have sent the entire Wolf Spiders unit to personally hunt Adam Steiner down, and we wouldn't have killed Adam Steiner because that would be too nice considering the dishonor he had caused to Kerenskys Clan, no we would take Adam back to the Direwolf Flagship and then torture him on one of our interogation chairs until he begged us to kill him.

  • Ok stop with this "we" stuff, you're no more clan than I am the Emperor of Canada. Also the last I checked, torturing someone to the point they beg to die is not honorable in anyway. In fact, it's downright cowardly.

  • If Nicolai did this and he was in Clan Wolf, he would have been celebrated as a defender of Kerenskys ideals and a defender of Kerenskys Honor and Kerenskys Legacy. You however ianboswell for not defending Kerenskys Legacy and Kerenskys Honor would be demoted to a lowly Solahma Warrior in Clan Wolf and Clan Wolf In Exile for not fighting for the glory and the honor and the legacy of the entire Clan. To be blunt we would probably make you serve as a sibko brat babysitter and change their Diapers.

  • chris it is clear you do not understand clan poltics and tatics especialy clan wolf

  • @thalmar7

Even the most veteran of BattleTech fans don't understand the FULL political and tactical means of any Clan.

What does it matter anyway, since it is only a franchise?

  • By the way Ianboswell. You are obviously not that devout of a Crusader Clan Jade Falcon warrior because if you really were a actual good loyal Clan Jade Falcon Commander it would be your Bloodnamed Duty to destroy all dezgra in the inner sphere that defile Nicholas Kerenskys beliefs and all Dezgra that dishonor your Clan. A true Clanner fights for the honor of the entire Clan and Dezgra Major Adam Steiner has humiliated Clan Wolf (Clan of Kerenskys Bloodline) and Clan Jade Falcon by this point.

  • The Smoke Jaguars greatest enemy or rather enemies is not even debatable it is an easy 50/50 tie between Clan Nova Cat and Clan Ghost Bear. The Ghost Bears and Smoke Jaguars had a long standing bitter rivalry. The Smoke Jaguars and Ghost bears both believed that their totem animals and their militarys better resembled Kerenskys vision of what a true warrior should be. The Nova cats and Smoke Jaguars shared and fought over the same worlds and resources in both the Inner Sphere and in Clan space.

  • Pretty much the Snow Ravens are the Clans Version of the Outworlds Alliance, where as the Jade Falcons are the Clans Version of the Federated Commonwealth.

  • The Jade Falcons greatest enemy is not Clan Wolf, Clan Wolf In Exile, Clan Ghost Bear, Clan Hells Horses, or any Inner Sphere military. The Jade Falcons greatest enemy is Clan Snow Raven. The Snow Ravens fight mostly with Aerofighters and Spaceships, the Jade Falcons fight mostly with Battle Armor and Mechs. The Snow Ravens and Jade Falcons do not agree on what is the correct way to fight as a true Kerensky warrior. The Snow Ravens and Jade Falcons see eachother as fighting like Dezgra Warriors.

  • The Inner Sphere didn't beat the Clans solely by fighting dirty. The Inner Sphere beat the Clans by salvaging Clan Tech and Clan Weapons and putting them on their own Inner Sphere mechs. Best way to beat a technologically superior enemy is to use his own superior technology against him. By the time the great refusal happened, almost every Inner Sphere unit on Strahna Mechty was fielding salvaged Clan Tech. Prince Victor Davion shot Khan Vladimir Ward out of his Ryoken while piloting a Daishi.

  • Well the salavage of better tech goes without saying. But lets face it. alot of hand to hand fighting helped... the screech of metal on metal, the thud of a good hit, The red smear where a cockpit USED to be

  • Better tech?

And yes, close fighting was effective, but only if you could get in close enough and had the appropiate weaponry, otherwise you would simply ruin a perfectly good weapon. The Axeman was a particulary good 'Mech at hand-to-hand, along with a few Urbans and most Agros

  • @chris071883 Uh, it was Kai Allard Liao that shot Vlad out of his Timberwolf while piloting a Storm Crow and Victor took on Lincoln Osis in his Dire Wolf, Prometheus.

  • @EvilCleric Lincoln Osis was an Elemental, so I'm not sure where you got the idea that he ever piloted a 'mech. They can barely fit in the cockpit, for one.

  • @Gallowell I know that. Victor was the one in the Dire Wolf. He'd named it Prometheus due to the array of laser weapons mounted on it.

  • @EvilCleric Oh, I misunderstood what you meant, sorry.I thought you meant the 'mech Victor. I always associate the Victor 'mech with Victor - Steiner Davion.

  • @Gallowell Oddly enough what you mentioned earlier was actually done in one of the games. In Mechwarrior 3, you can fight against Lincoln Osis who for some reason was piloting a Dire Wolf despite being an Elemental. I can kinda see the reasoning though because it'd be rather anti-climactic to accidentally step on the Khan of the Smoke Jaguars in-game.

  • @EvilCleric That's what irked me about that final mission in MechWarrior 3, how it didn't fit the canon, since Toadies are bred and trained only for the Elemental suits and had no training whatsoever in 'mechs.

  • At Tukaiyadd the Steel Vipers lost about half their military. The Star Adders lost about half their Military. The Jade Falcons lost about 40% of their military. The Ghost Bears lost about 40% of their military. The Diamond Sharks lost 60% of their military. The Smoke Jaguars lost 40% of their military which contributed to the inner sphere destroying the jaguars in operation bulldog. The only Clan that made it out of their landing zones and took their objectives was Clan Wolf. Comstar won easily.

  • it just goes to show ya how gooood comstar was ^^. to think they where thought of as nothing more then hpg "security guards"

  • Why do you think they were shroudedin mysticsm for so long and had such strict joining policies?

  • the illkhan of Wolf Clan tried to warn the other clans but they were hide bound to thier accepted battle tatics and would not adapt to new tatics reason wolf clan got off so lite is thier kan study his oppent he tried to pass this info on to the others but they wouldnt listen

  • First of all regarding Tukaiyadd and Comstar, when Ilkhan Ulric Kerensky and Precentor Martial Anastacious Fought met to set the outline for the trial, even Ilkhan Ulric was shocked at the numerically superior size of the Comgurads and their star league Lostech weaponry. The Clans never had a chance to win the battle before Tukaiyadd even began because the Comguards outnumbered all the Clans militaries combined and they had star league Lostech in all their units.

  • comstar was the secret ace in the hole.

  • what do you do when your enemy is foolish enough to fight by a strict set of rules? fight dirty and outside the rules

  • No, the Nekekami are not modern. They have been around since feudal Japan. It's only that their services have not been used so often in military BattleTech that they can be seen as modern.

  • Fidel Castro. xD

  • I've played a Jade Falcon Galaxy Commander before and if I was in this guy's shoes I wouldn't even have sent a unit to deal with him. I'd already have called him wasteful (Big clan insult) and if anything just sent a messenger to him to relay that for me. His unit had earlier been capable of seizing planets! And now he's reduced to trying to take out his "nemesis" just some guy from a planet nobody cares about? The bandit caste isn't good enough for this guy! That's a bloodname down the drain.

  • you do realize that maruader IIC's and Warhammer IIC's are IS mechs with clan weaponry in them right?

anything with a IIC is an IS chassi with Clan weapons.

whats more, a hunchback IIC is a beast of a medium mech - 2 Ultra AC 20's - it could down an assault mech in close range in one turn

  • ummmm.... they're falcons

they arent smart to begin with, their tempers are short, and fierce fighters; but no real intelligence. lol

  • Clanners have always had the means of fighting, never the brains lol.

lets not get started on smoke jaguar.

  • on an even fight the clans always beat the IS forces

this show doesnt demonstrate that at all because its for kids. if done correctly this series would have only lasted maybe 5 episodes - but then that would be way too short for even 1 season lol

  • Do you mean by numbers or in general?

Cause yeah, clan mechs have always had superiority over the sphere.

  • the IS forces had to use gurilla attacks and a 4 to 1 ratio in their favor to win any battle against the clans

their armor and firepower was godly compared to the low tech of the IS

  • Some times I wonder which side would have been more enjoyable to command under.

Being swarmed by thousands of small moderate foes.

Or being stalked by overwhelming adversaries in single digits.

  • commanding a clan unit is alot better

they always have resoucres for a lot of relaods and spare weapons to put on, and enough of spare parts to almost remake any mech from the ground up.

  • That's because while the Inner Sphere fell into the Four Succession Wars, the Clans had 300 years to research, build and share technological agents.

  • Actually he is a Steiner - it would have lasted good deal longer and he would have had more then just 1 lance.....the Sommerset strikers are technically in the main universe....and why are the clanners attacking a jumpship ? you dont shoot those !

  • being a steiner doesnt really mean his unit would last longer than usual, it would just mean that him and a few people from his unit would have gotten out to get rearmed and reinforced with better equipment - and probably supplemented by mercs or another house unit.

the clans did board alot of jump ships and took them by force, but in the fiction they never open fired on a jumpship because that is considered to be unhonorable because they dont have any weapons

  • true, jumpships were by enlarge were not to be attacked,

Also IS would clean house against the clans hands down. Clans fought with a strict rules of engagement but the IS fought in total war.

Case in point while Clanners needed true born to fight in mechs, it was easier for IS to get personnel up faster as well machines.

Thats why the Jags fell they could not out produce, out supply or out rotate their warriors. Coupled with IS stealing clan mechs and techs, no way the Clans could win

  • in todays CBT it would be an even fight

back then, the clans cleaned house and took over a 1/4 of the inner sphere in two years, something that was never done before. it took 3 or 4 IS mechs to down one clan mechs - plus the clans were better supplied, the IS mechs had trouble running because their techs only knew how to make make-shift repairs.

the jags fell because the entire IS threw most of their forces at just them, at two diff. locations, and each task force had several regiments.

  • you forget the Clans had the element of surprise. The 4 Great houses were still at a fragile truce back then. Most of the elite guards were guarding borders. The Lyran side of the commonwealth got hit hard because the Lyrans thought FWL was going to attack them so they shifted most of their forces near that border. Victor's 10th Davion Guards were the only command that won a fight. If the IS knew the clans were coming the race for terra would have been different.

  • not really, the clans had too much going for them - such as very superior battlemechs. yes they kinda surprised the IS. yes the IS houses were fragile, but that was their own fault for fighting over the same planets for 300 years. the lyrans had units along every boarder and mercs along the periphery. victor's 10th davion guards got massacred in their first fight against the clans. they didnt win until after the dragoons trained all the houses successors and top brass how the clans work

  • but thats when the clan invasion stalled, the Clans can win on a 1 on 1 fight its also not taking into consideration that the IS was still using Standard Armor over IS Ferro Fiberous. The clans were better defensively armored over their IS counterparts. Even still, the clans attacked when IS was very weak and spread thin. When the Dragoons and Hounds went after them it was a diff story, same with the Com Guards who ended up fighting at the end to force a Truce.

  • it stalled because the IlKhan got killed in an aerospace battle - by LUCK. it wasnt because they were having trouble winning. the entire IS was weak and spread thin. the dragoons and hounds only helped on Luthien, and no other time- they dont count as the same a unit that was in the war the entire time. the Com Guards didnt go after them, they held a trial, and the clans almost won that battle - even though the Com Guards basically cheated the entire time

  • by luck, yes killing an ilKhan in that battle was one in a million but in other sci-fi it has happen. The IS was weak because of the fighting but they werent incompetent. the Kell hounds were also one of the few merc companies to go into clan space, Phellen Kell was captured while saving his comrades. Still the intel they provided all came together in the com guard battle. I wouldnt say it was cheating it was playing fair to an extent. Either way the Smoke Jaguars got taken out.

  • The Clans had several unique advantages at the beginning and still had advantage technologically by the "twilight" FASA's novels had in store for them. They basically used "SuperMechs" that trashed the Periphery, FRR, older FC and DC 'Mechs. But FASA said officially that "we estimate the Clans deploy one OmniMech for every four BattleMechs" The Inner Sphere won the war of attrition, just like the Allies beat the superior German military in WW2, by flooding the battlefield with war materiel.

  • Jags were also one of the most arrogant and bloodthirsty of clans. From what I read from the history the IS chose them because of that.

  • the Jags were also loathed by Ghost Bear, Wolf, Falcons, Steel vipers, and a few other clans. Hell's Hose was probably their soul ally if the IS didnt destroy the Jags I'm sure a contingent of Ghost Bear or Nova Cat would have taken the chance to attack them to absorb them into their ways.

  • I think of all the Clans, their primary rival were the Nova Cats, not just because of their long dispute history but also because they were forced to share a corridor in the inital Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere.

  • 10:42 REMINDS ME OF "ROBOT JOCKS"

  • stupid battles. enemy is always dumb and the good guys shot always lucky hits. also, poor drawn. books and game are much better. sorry, 2 stars

waiting for a well-done movie satisfing expectations of a true fan.

  • yes! battletech!

  • oh man i remember this show lol

  • Oh. The clanners would also never attack an unarmed dropship.

  • If there's no place to land a dropship, how do they get OFF the planet?

  • There are several types of Dropships, but the main that are focused on in both book series and television show is the Overlord Class (egg-looking thing.) There are smaller, more maneuverable Dropships that can land on a planet and lift off without the need of a specially prepared landing pad - the Leopard-Class for example; although these can typically hold no more than 3 or 4 'Mechs

  • the only mechs that looks like a mech from the games are the Mauler and Madcats

  • to Lobowolf614 (Incase the Posts Otherwise)

That would be because the Cartoon was made first

  • cuz these are what the mechs should looks like, the game made them look "cooler"

  • "You´ll lead a strike force and bring him back to me - in ANY condition!". I like that! ^^

But shouldn´t the crew of the jumbship be, I don´t know, blown out into space when the elementals breach the hull right next to them?

Anyway, I just stumled over this clips like a few hours ago, and somehow they make me want to take out my old mechs and hexmaps and get stomping some Claners again! :)

  • lol franky piloted the sloth in episode 8 i think lol

  • ive got to ask it lol but why does major steiner and franky both have a hole in their sleeve? it makes no sence that they wouldnt have repaired their clothes at some point in the previous 9 episodes lol considering it got ripped in the first episode lol but come on dont they have sewing kits in the future??? lol

  • To quote a line from The Simpsons, "When you notice something like that, a wizared did it."

Perhaps a wizard kept hiding their sewing machines?

  • Lasers cant run out of ammo -_-

  • I guess whatever their power-source is, it's finite. It running out could be considered the equivalent of running out of power.

  • Consider the show a "Fisher-Price, My First Battletech". There's quite a bit of discrepancy between the fluff, and the cartoon

Mech lasers are powered by the mech's internal fusion drive. If it were to run out, the mech would fall to the ground.

  • She says she can't abandon the major. Yet they abandoned Pytor with no problem.

  • I'll admit that I don't know much about the mechs' status in the original game that this series is based on, but look-wise my favourite is the axe-man.

  • Dude, it's a basic clone of the original with updated tech and one more autocannon.

  • LOL i used to watch this before going to highschool - like year 8 or something!! sweet

  • They made one big mistake: They attacked MY HOME PLANET!

  • sound quality on this one is so much better then last episode....near blew my ear drums lol

  • Yeah some of them are realy quiet. :/

  • Damn... I want this whole stuff on DVD xD

  • Played through the entire thing for me too. Odd.

  • Worked all the way through for me, maybe because Im just more of a hardcore mechwarroir than you guys!

  • I think the last 2 minutes are missing, but still a pretty good episode.
