...so then I carefully set that small white plastic piece in place so it fit in with the larger white plastic piece. Then I put the space bar key back but was again pretty worried because it didn't seem to go back in! I pressed down hard on the space bar key, and now it "clicks" and feels like it did when I first bought my laptop!! It feels like a brand new keyboard!! I am so happy to have this issue resolved!! Thanks for putting up this video, you've made me extremely relieved and very happy!

I was very upset when my space bar started acting up. It stopped "clicking" like the other keys, and when I used it, sometimes it would not put the space and other times it would put 2 spaces instead of 1 space. I didn't know I could remove (pull out) the plastic space bar key and didn't know that it would snap back in until I saw this video. When I pulled the space bar out, I noticed that on the right side, the smaller piece of plastic was completely unhinged and had been loose underneath.

forcing it isn't a good idea not because the key wont go back on thats just people who dont know how to put it back on but because the hinges may break at points if you force and what you end up with is a key that is ON the keyboard but if you press it off center it tips over like a see saw

This video is close to how you take the keys off but there are some different keyboards that need lifting from either left side or right side - NEVER FORCE! I would recommend using a smooth ended knife (kitchen butter knife would be fine) and levering GENTLY!

Make sure you don't use force, the key should just pop off with a clicky sound. And putting it back is just as easy as well.

To everyone who can't put the key back, just tinker with the key a bit. Take a glance at how the keyboard clicks into the key and look under the key for and kind of grips it might have for clicking in. Just press the  key back down on that spot and you should get it if you keep at it.

It seems like the mechanism isn't designed well to be taken apart. Each key has a "scissor" hinge which consists of 4 little feet that clip into grooves on the underside of the keys.

Although you can remove the keys I suspect theres a good chance of damaging or snapping the hinges

if the white thing is all messed up, gently pull it out and re assemble it (i really cant explain how to because each model is different). then clip that back in, and then push the key several times until it starts snapping into place

Putting back the "Enter" key isn't much harder than all the rest. I've taken off my Caps Lock, my Shift, and pretty much go together in a similar way. You could go ahead and send it to the manufacturer, but you'll be without a computer for a few weeks.

once you get the spacebar off, use q-tips with alcohol and tweezers to clean all the crap out. Dirt, crumbs, hair, etc are keeping it from pressing down properly. Just worked for me like genius!
