I have a cat, a Ragdoll, and she is toilet trained, yes, she does it in the toilet and runs to beat me to it too! She doesn't go on the counter, ever. She is clicker trained to sit, down, stay, come, take it, and give a paw, and she just turned a year old.
She gets along with the 3 dogs too. She works for cauliflower, just like the dogs. She isn't sneaky at all because she only does things if there is a chance of getting cauliflower!

I have a cat, a Ragdoll, and she is toilet trained, yes, she does it in the toilet and runs to beat me to it too! She doesn't go on the counter, ever. She is clicker trained to sit, down, stay, come, take it, and give a paw, and she just turned a year old.
She gets along with the 3 dogs too. She works for cauliflower, just like the dogs. She isn't sneaky at all because she only does things if there is a chance of getting cauliflower!
And I am not a cat person either!

Dogs shit on peoples lawns, kill children and attack people, carry rabies, fleas and ticks. They destroy property and bark incessantly. But you know what? That's natural dog behavior, not 'bad behavior', if you're a pet owner it's your responsibility to keep your dog from doing those things if you live near other people, same goes for cat owners.
Cats are not machines, they are animals, and they have every right to be alive, regardless if you like them or not.

there is one fatal flaw in your theory: dogs are malleable in that their behaviour reflects their training, thus it is possible to be properly responsible for a dog. It isn't so with cats. They come and go, sometimes for long stretches, always on their own, occasionally getting pregnant. They are extremely good carriers of local diseases for this reason. Dogs have statistically more cases of carrying rabies because people can actually transport them abroad without worrying too much.

I hear this argument so often, yet of all the cat's I've had none of them acted even remotely similar to the aloof description.The cat I have right now is extremely affection, very loyal & she listens to what I say.We go on walks, without a leash or harness and doesn't leave my side, at night she sleeps on the pillow next to me or at my feet, and she's never gone more than a few hours.Everyone says she acts just like a dog, but I've never had a cat who didn't act as she does.

It makes sense if you think about it, even the best dogs are tempted run from their owners if they see another dog, a stranger, a squirrel... Dogs have the natural urge to rush at things, while cats are not so inclined, they usually freeze if they see or hear something.

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree. Well trained dogs don't run towards interesting things. If i say 'no' to my dog and point to something, he immediately loses interest in it, thus I can leave my supper on the stairs without him even sniffing it. Also, are you implying that dogs don't 'freeze' when they hear something strange? You're confusing with sights of interest and sounds of interest. Both animals tend to 'freeze' as a result of the latter, but you can train dogs to ignore the former.

I fu***ng HATE cats. They are worthless, opportunistic balls of fur that happen to move. They come by when they need food and disappear fo the rest of the day. They also make creepy sounds. Plus, they go berserk on little kids and scratch them. I've ran over 10 with my car and shoot them with my BB gun.
