How do you put a music file onto the computer?

@WARDUDE130 You can use software like iTunes to take music from a CD or download from Internet. It will store the file on your computer, from PowerPoint you can add this from the folder that the file has been stored in.

@HammondC3guy I haven't come across this error before. I assume that your music file will play normally on your computer outside of PowerPoint? It sounds to me that it is a media problem rather than a PowerPoint problem.

When I set the audio to "Play Across Slides" in the Playback option, PowerPoint crashes. I'm using a recording, but it still crashes when I use a mp.3 file. I'm also using the same version of PowerPoint. Could you please help me?

@patricklieu I cannot say why PPT crashes. It should work fine with an MP3 file - but be sure to check with other formats anyway.
