  • Step 1: reverse engineer the basic design and input into CAD file.

Step 2: upgrade with force feedbacks, computer vision system, and basic mimc-train kinesthetic algorithms.

    step 3: generate CAM file.

step 4: put into full production on a line like this: watch?v=TxAgKnSUnXQ&list=FLYqyyT9gtSjb940-9Ys8gNg&index=1&feature=plpp_video

    Step 5: ????

Step 6: TAKE OVER ENTIRE PLANET

  • Alec Tronic haunts my Nightmares

  • This is Scary!!! Lol awesome though but its scary :)

  • once he's able to walk, humans are fucked

  • His name isn't Alec it's Tom Morrow

  • @trevlinson21 He says his name in the video. It's Alec Tronic. This was at Disney World. Tom was at Disney Land.

  • @CraigTube Ohhhh..... OK

  • Where's this thing?

  • @DjekStudiosMovies

Well....he WAS at Innoventions West at Epcot Center. Then they gutted all stuff that made Innoventions cool.

So he probably got recycled somewhere. Who knows...perhaps Alec is living it up in the renovated Spaceship Earth? After all, the animatronic Ellen DeGeneres was once the milkman from World of Motion.

  • @MouseFan1984 Wow... That's kinda freaky when you think about it. Animatronic Ellen is the one fighting a dinosaur?

  • @DjekStudiosMovies

    Bingo.

WoM's milkman + New skin + New dialogue = Ellen fighting off an Elasmosaurus.

  • Hey, that's Ryan Seacrest!

  • Okay...is it just me or does Alec sound just like Thomas Lennon?

Does anyone know who his voice actor was?

  • LOL man what the hell... IDK maybe it's just me cause the animatronics are really good here but something about animatronics not having their own artists doing covers makes it seem so cheesy and carnaval-like... Even here where the animatronic is far superior, when he starts singing the actual Joe Cocker song it just goes down the crapper for me.

  • skynet has became self aware

  • i always find them wierd cause they move WAY to smoothly...

  • Once these guys are completely self-mobile and are able to make complex decisions, we are all done for.

  • @Aurablase10000 I highly doubt it. It's like... what if the internet starts to think on it's own?

  • @CraigTube Don't you know...........IT ALREADY HAS! You are just unable to perceive its SUPERIOR intelligence, puny human!

  • @telesniper2 This thing is no more intelligent than a steam engine. It's a machine controlled by a man made computer program. Relax.

  • @CraigTube I was referring to the internet, puny human

  • @telesniper2 Ok, everyone step away from their computers and watch the internet come to a screeching halt.

  • @CraigTube

lulz Craig was obviously joking. =P

  • I must capture one of these androids, reverse engineer it, and redesign an upgraded version constructed from high strength superalloy

  • they should make one that can walk

  • @RossEStern They did. It's a dinosaur named Lucky. I think the Stitch audio animatronic in Stitch's Great Escape walks too. They haven't made a human one that can walk yet though. The closest thing to that is Benjamin Franklin in the American Adventure. But one of his legs is supported by a moving arm under the stage and the other swings forward and back.

  • I don't even think disneyland has THIS good of anamatronics~!! And I've been there~!

  • Dang! Disney Imagineers have come a long way since the first Audio-Animatronics! . . . . Disney Imagineers DID creat Alec Tronic, right? He's so life-like, you hardly even notice his feet are glued to the floor, lol!

  • The A100s amaze me! I think Lincoln, Obama, and George W. Bush are all A100s in the Hall of Presidents now. The Wicked Witch in the Great Movie Ride is a great chance to see one up close.

  • @olddeuteronomy The first time I saw the witch was live at Disney, and until I got back to the trailer to watch the video I shot, I thought it was a real person! I became obsessed with the figure, but the painful part was that there was no internet back then to look it up.

  • nice and racist.

  • all these robotic developers need to take notes from the animatronic engineers at Disney. They were the first and the best at this sort of thing.

  • uhhhh.... what happened to skin? did thy just get layzy lol. but i got to admit its need to see at the gears and crud

  • @kindalkaykay Well since this was in innoventions they purposely didn't put skin on him so disney can show everyone how their new animatronic works.

  • Did u know the first A100 animatronic was used in the witch from Wizard of OZ scene in the Great Movie ride in Hollywood studios (MGM)? ... it true! lol

  • @WDWtony I knew that. It was the first one I saw. I didn't know it was a machine until I watched the video I shot. I was fascinated with it.

  • thats cool and all but can he do the robot?

  • his eyes creep me out

  • omfg its so lifelike~!! I've looked through some awesome animatronics but this beats them all~!! It would be great if he moved off of the platform though~ XD If would be alittle difficult but its worth a try isn't it~? XD Hes already moving fantastically~ I swear these things are going to take over the world..

  • @kagome421992 Don't worry, there's a huge bank of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and computer hardware controlling him. I doubt he would be able to carry all that around.

  • @CraigTube Aww I know~ But still you can hope right~? xD

  • @kagome421992 Yeah, what CraigTube said. And even if that wasn't true, no Audio-Animatronic has been capable of independent walking yet. Try taking over the world when you're walking on your hands or dragging yourself across the floor because the guys who built you didn't know how to make you lift your foot without blowing up, lol!

  • He did The Wolfman's voice from the Wolf Pack 5.

  • wow

  • Just wait until they figure out how to make them actually walk on their own and stuff!!

  • @blueoctopede they already can lol. look up lucky the dinosaur.

  • @ShadowAtogo That is INSANE!!

  • @blueoctopede

they actually have some capable of sorta walking...

  • master of impersonations

  • haha this is cool but I watched for 3 min then I realized I was just watching a goofy robot sing.

  • ...precursor to the the Cyberdyne Systems model 101. Sure it's entertaining us now, but....

  • His eyes are scary

  • What beautiful animation this figure displays!

  • The real Terminators are coming.

  • Walt Disney World is full of these A100 units, dressed up as everything from The President, to Peter Pan.

  • @CraigTube acctualy peter pan is a different animatronic then this guy. he is more like the little people off its a small world. then they created this kind of tech. and they were able to move more human like

  • @bennyandjoon2466 Well, they've converted much of the machines to A100 figures. I'm not particularly sure about Peter Pan per se, but I would think by now, they've got rid of most of the A1 figures, which are the old ones.

  • @CraigTube i am almost positive that peter pan is still in his original form, i went only a couple years ago and hewas still the same

  • @bennyandjoon2466 -shutters- Imagine the Small World children moving like these figures...They could only get creepier!

  • @bennyandjoon2466 Peter Pan isn't really an animatronic; he's more of a robot. He MOVES, but there's not a lot of life behind it.

  • @bennyandjoon2466 they are still considered "animations" . The first generation ipod is still called an "ipod". its a very outdated version, but never the less, its still an ipod

  • That's pretty amazing!! So where can someone see this in person?

  • oh thats too cool

  • its a copy of tom marrow at disneyland's tomarrowland

  • this is kind of a take off of the Mijjins made in the early 90s

  • That was pretty neat. I can't wait until we have robots living side by side with us LOL Well I guess they would be existing not living

  • I worked on this with Dave Feitin at Imagineering we were both Imagineers at the time.

  • I've always been fascinated with these things since I was a kid. When I saw this thing, I was so damn fascinated, I felt numb! I hardly knew what to film. I wanted to get all the inner workings, but still capture the body movements. The first A100 figure, the Witch, was so amazing, I didn't know it was an AA figure until I watched the video I shot.

  • @Malibucompany Dave is my Disney hero. LOVED his work on the Christmas & Vacation shows for the bears. such a shame that tokyo is the only park that still has those versions

  • I build robots and Animatronics, but O My God!

  • Most fascinating indeed! I wish I could do stuff like that.

  • Wow this is great! Did anyone see the autonomatronic panel video from D23

  • Your site is really funky......I LOVE THIS AMAZING COLLECTION AND the only thing i < don't ....iz brew hmmm, but that's ok ...i guess.....you've got really neat stuff man!...I keep coming back for the variety!!! Keep on keepin on eh?...Luv, wizzzeeeee...and, and, and,.....

  • that would scare me soo much

  • @slytherin0queen same here >.>

  • That is extremely advanced technology! It's amazing! And maybe one day that robot can walk around except to be wired to the floor. You never know

  • They actually already developed freely moving audio animatronics.

  • Was developed like five years ago.

  • I gotta say. If I saw this as a kid it would scare the SHIT out of me. But then, I was a wussy kid XD

  • I was in the MAPO building watching this figure being programmed by Dave Feitin. Brother Imagineer.

  • That's amazing. You're my new best friend!

  • Did they update or replace Alec with a newer model?

Its pretty good for 95 tech!!!

  • at 0:22 it sounds like he said "titty cam"

  • Is this guy at WDW or DLR?

  • Epcot

  • Ehhhh..... this "guy" it's my nick!!!!!!!! :D

  • even watching this i still think tom marrow at disneyland seems better thatn this...this guy looks like the auctioneer on pirates....

  • Tom's movements are a little more interesting, but he's no where near as entertaining as Alec.

  • that's true! but wouldn't it be cool if Tom and Alec basically shared Innoventions at DL? i mean Tom must get lonely!

  • is that alec's voice?

  • Soldier, you can't handle 3 million volts!

  • hah he sounds like norm

  • When was "Alec Tronic" first put on display and when was he taken off?

  • The new mr. potato head audio animatronic is phenomenal!

  • Nice vid, thanks for the memories

  • Pretty awesome. He would've scared the CRAP out of me when I was little though XD

  • That wasn't even that modern. Imagine today's (2008) technology!!

  • The first time I saw this was in '85 at a Disneyland cast member and family WDI tour with my mom. Pretty much the same set up, he sang the "Feelin' alright" song with the three heads. I was absolutely amazed as a kid and watched a few cycles of the song. Glad to see they finally made it a show for guests!

  • I have been absolutely fascinated with audio animatronics since I was a kid. When I saw this back in 95, I was numb with amazement.

  • Hey, I think I remember him...How long has this been at Disney?

I remembered seeing this really awesome part with all this futuristic stuff.

  • its gone now but it was there for quite some time

  • aww...

  • At least this video is here to remember this, in case anyone missed the chance or wants to see it again.

  • aww...But you're right, at least there's this video---I remember now, I thought it was a dream I had or something. Great seeing it again ah....nostalgia...

  • wow such smooth movement, amazing

  • (L) Audio-animatronics !

  • lol Bevis and Barney!!!!!

  • everyone is a robot even me and you

  • Is he still at WDW and if so, where? I am going in June and would LOVE to see him!

  • He has very fluent and smooth animations because of a nice animation/programming technique called compliance!!

  • NIIIICCEE!!!

lol the little heads are doin back-up...

    luv robots!!!

    WOOOT theis guy rox!

  • where is this?

  • Walt Disney World Florida. At least it was.

  • lol I think Alec's bi-polar...Especially at like 6:20 lol :p

  • I love the set and everything! Especially Alec... He's SO PRECISE! It's scary! lol

  • 6:05 DOC! IS THAT YOU!!?

  • "always wanted to get a-head in showbusiness" LOL

  • that actually scared me a bit...

  • Sure has very precise, quick motions!!

  • Alec Tronic? Don't confuse him with Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek!

  • i dont like robots

  • he moves like a real person......thats amazing!!

  • Look, if you guys want to know, Tom morrow was at COMMUNICORE, from 1982 to 1994, though i don't know what exactly you did, but it was an interactive exibit.

  • It must not have been an A100 figure though. A100 figures are known for their realistic movements. These figures weren't introduced until 1995.

  • But that's impossible. The 1st A-100 figure was the wicked which of the west in the great movie ride at Disney MGM studios, and i Believe the Great Movie Ride opened with the studios in 1989.

  • I stand totally corrected. You are right. I first saw the witch in 1990. The A110s were introduced in 1989. I don't know why I thought it was 1995. I would love to see some footage of Tom Morrow.

  • Maybe an upgrade to the A-100 was done in 1995, and thats what confused you.

  • All that money and work and it still doesn't have knees? I guess that's just not feasible at all right now. -But still...

  • WTF. if they make robots like this, they should make them more like robots in iRobot...but it is pretty cool...I spose..

  • look closely people...you are witnessing a major technical achievement.

  • Is Alex Tronic, the dude in the video, still at Disney?

  • What an era when dancers trying to move like robot, and robots trying to move like humans..

  • such fluid movements.....it's almost as if he's alive

  • how do you become an animatronicist?

  • I wish I knew.

  • degree at a college like ITT technical college, and a written resume to Disney World.

  • I remember this guy! i saw him

  • haha archie bunker and kathrine hepburn

  • if this is in Disneyland, the guy used to be called Tom Morrow

  • It was Disney "World". Makes sense though, Alec-Tronic, Tom-Morrow. Common theme there.

  • Wasn't Tom Morrow the miniature foot tall animatronic that was in Epcot's Innoventions for a while? I don't remember this guy though.

  • Tom Morrow was the man on the monorail ride at walt disneys Magic Kingdom

  • Tom Morrow is mentioned on the People Mover I know, and also in the queue for Star Tours, but I'm pretty sure the robot in innoventions was also Tom Morrow

  • oh, ok kool

  • I thought Tom Morrow was the name of the father in Disney's Carousel of Progress...

  • search jules the android jules rulz!!!!

  • Too bad the voice is so fucking annoying

  • When was this at EPCOT?

It is pretty spooky looking, I think it's those wide eyes XD

    Still awesome though!

  • damn robots r gonna b takin over the world soon

  • don't worry, every movement of that robot was programmed by humans. We still rule, until they can program themselves, which won't happen. They're just machines.

  • Awesome !!

  • I have always been a big fan of Disney Audio Animatronics! I totally missed this one and according to a post below, it USED to be at EPCOT... It is not there anymore? What pavilion was this in? This is awesome!!!

  • I miss seeing this guy at EPCOT!! Hilarious show and great impersonations

  • cool but he's so ugly man

  • am i the only one that thinks this is the scariest thing ive ever seen?
