Not sure if you answered this question already but what do you commonly use ammo wise for your AK, just bought the rifle and trying to figure out what ammo is alright for it. Would you say brown bear is ok?

@Hickok45 I also have a ATI Stock and pistol grip on my Wasr, it appears to be the same as yours, however it's a "fixed stock". It still has the collapsable feature but not the folding. I was wondering if u have an idea on how to modify it back to the original format, so I may have both features.. Thanks

i had the exact same stock on my bulgy 74. the first time i shot it, i busted my lip on the knob to fold the stock. that stock isnt the way to go on a AK.
@mtswint if you learned how to properly hold and discharge your firearm, "busting your lip" wouldn't happen. Since when does the ak47 have recoil???...or are you just a vagina?

I hate when people ask on videos of guns "where do you get the money for all this??" well people go out and buy stuff with there spare money, some go buy new TVs and other electronics, cars, furniture, and some people like I, hickok, and many others spend on guns.
There is nothing crazy about Hickok45. He is a good American who likes to shoot his rifles and from what i've seen he is always safe with them and tells others to be safe and I respect that. Gun owners get bad reps as being crazy rednecks because of people who do stupid stuff with rifles. If you are safe with the rifle you will never leave the range with anything except a sore shoulder, maybe some m1 thumb, and a few pounds less of ammo.
@hickok45 the wolf ammo you use in the ak is an ok round, but i use the corrosive yugo rounds in mine. its a better round and the only cleaning difference is use some windex before you start using and breakfree or hopes cleaner. just saying. check out my new videos to btw! got one of me and my ak, mosin nagant and savage arms 7mm. plus some explosive targets! thanks man!

how is the qualityof this rifle? I'm in the market for a good reliable but affordable ak or ar and i was at a gun show and found a stand selling wasr 10's with an ncstar 3-9x42mm scope, a collapsable/folding stock, a foregrip and a bipod and red dot laser for $739. they also had a sw mp15 with all that for $1100 but that's a little more than i'd wanna pay.

Though they do not TECHNICALLY are not in my name they are my uncles who is with Law Enforcement. they are left to me in his will and they are stored at my house in my gunsafe, he uses it sometimes but im the main person who uses/cleans it
and its not just fully automatic its select fire (semi/auto)
Ak-47 is ugly but it does work, a few u.s. soldiers back in the day in vietnam found a dead NVA soldier laying down on his AK, and even tho dirt, human guts, and water were all over it, it still worked just fine.
ak is terrible, very cheap, made from sheet metal, very inaccurate, but a reliable gun doesn't really make sense. on the other hand german weapons such as h&k make reliable, accurate, and durable weapons that are built to take beatings, and are still maintained in good condition after a good beating.
@Spritelover7 Do i really need to spend $4500 on a rifle that will fire when dropped in a mud puddle when i could spend $600 on an ak-100 series gun that will fire after i leave the gun in a mud puddle for a couple months.

I just bought 2, 1,260 round cases of the Yugo 7.62 X 39 MM ammo from J&G Sales up in Prescott, Arizona. I wondered if you shot any of this stuff? It comes in a sealed Lead and Zinc lined case, packed in a wooden crate. I got a good buy on it for only $199.95 per case if you buy 2. The ammo is brass cased, lead core copper jacketed, berdan primed. It is corrosive, but AK's are easy to clean. Just wondered if you've shot any of it? Bill

@killergames187, It's a fairly quality stock. What I liked about it was that it was much longer than the Tapco when fully extended, mostly because it also has folding capability. I didn't have to do anything differently to install it. Guess I've install two or three different stocks on AKs, and it's just been a matter of taking out a screw or two and replacing them.
just run a dry patch or two or three thru the barrell before everytime you shoot to wipe the excess,left over oil that got left over from cleaning. it will dry up the barrell and make it shoot better and won't smoke as much or at all
@morbidangelofdeath1 , Duh, it's not the oil IN the barrel; that would be gone with the first shot. Yes, you always want to have a clean, dry barrel before you shoot anything.
@kop4321, with my length of pull, collapsible stocks are an absolute thing of beauty! Function over form for me; it why I accepted the Glock before most people, and maybe why I even like the Honda Element. Ugly is sometimes beautiful. :-)
Serbian made AKs (M70) are much better than other versions-1.5mm receivers than the thinner 1mm receivers used on Romanian AK-47 mm and Chinese versions-also they have a heavier barrel and production is precise than those models.Zastava Arms produce weapons for Remington. Heey Mr. Hickok-please test that gun and tell us your impressions !
the ak that my dad has is a little like an m1 garand the bolt stays open when it runs out of ammo and you have to push down on that metal piece so it closes....it almost closed on my finger

We certainly must be licensed also and firearms ownership is rigorously scrutinised and controlled by respective State Police forces; sport & hunting are the only allowable genuine and legal reasons. However, New Zealand has not banned semi autos and that is one of the safest countries in the world - Australians travelling there use semis in competition despite not being able to use them at home. This is what I am taking issue with.

DIY stores should sell ak47's they are great multi purpose tools. digging potatoes/ opening a beer/ trimming trees/ or my personal favourite cutting my hair.

my PERSONAL preferance with AK's is factory specs with the original wood, metal, barrel, magizines, etc....
i just think that for my shooting style the AK-type rifles are perfect right out of the box
the AK's i own are actual AK-47's and 2 AK-74's that are pre-ban Red Army military surplus.
the quality in my mind is not surpassed

@kop4321, with my length of pull, collapsible stocks are an absolute thing of beauty! Function over form for me; it why I accepted the Glock before most people, and maybe why I even like the Honda Element. Ugly is sometimes beautiful. :-)

Serbian made AKs (M70) are much better than other versions-1.5mm receivers than the thinner 1mm receivers used on Romanian AK-47 mm and Chinese versions-also they have a heavier barrel and production is precise than those models.Zastava Arms produce weapons for Remington. Heey Mr. Hickok-please test that gun and tell us your impressions !

the ak that my dad has is a little like an m1 garand the bolt stays open when it runs out of ammo and you have to push down on that metal piece so it closes....it almost closed on my finger

We certainly must be licensed also and firearms ownership is rigorously scrutinised and controlled by respective State Police forces; sport & hunting are the only allowable genuine and legal reasons. However, New Zealand has not banned semi autos and that is one of the safest countries in the world - Australians travelling there use semis in competition despite not being able to use them at home. This is what I am taking issue with.

Criminals have given guns a 'bad' image. But what the more unthinking anti-gun people don't stop to realise is that no matter how many laws you make and how restrictive you make them, criminals will not observe them. That's why they are criminals! Statisically an infinitesimally small number (<0.06% in Aust) of offences are committed by licensed, registered firearm owners here.
