There is nothing to memorize in this game whatsoever, anyone who can just figure out the intrinsic math of this game doesn't need any combos. Here's how:  You have three piles of coins. ALWAYS make sure that the two smaller piles add up to the same amount of coins as in the larger pile, and that's it. There's one other exception...

what if when they finish their move and you dont know what to do next because there isnt a cheat for that. ex. 7 , 5 , 3 then they take 4 from the 7 pile so then its 3. 5, 3. what do you do then?

I'd say 2 even piles, say 3, 3.

opponent: 3, 2

me: 2, 2

leads to easy endgame.

if opponent takes a pile instead (3), I'd take 2.

if opponent takes 2 (3, 1), I'd take the other pile.

BAD METHOD!!! WHAT IF THE PILES ARE GREATER??? Here's the method I use: work out all the piles in binary and make sure they all have an even number of 1's in each row(line them up) and if they don't, then make it so they do. Otherwise, go second and keep doing this.

strange, I learned another method for this game that also works, in fact on that works for any number of piles with pretty much whatever amount of coins you put on them.

you see, the trick is you convert every pile into binary numbers. then for example if you had 3 piles 1 of 3, 1 of 6 and 1 of 8 which would be 11, 110 and 1000 respectively in binary.

you "add" them together, without carrying the digits. so:

0011

0110

1000(+)

-----

1101

next...

you do the same with the separate heaps, and the number you just got.

in this case this would be:

11 (+)1101 = 1110

110 (+)1101 = 1011

1000(+)1101 = 101

you then reduce a pile that got reduced in this calculation to whatever is the result of that.

so in this example I would take 3 from the pile with 8 coins leaving 5 (101 in binary)

the only exception would be when this move would result only in piles of 1 or less, you must leave an odd number of those.
