In a mind-blowingly stupid movie, this was one of the worst scenes. The dam is overflowing. It could fail. So of course they hover BELOW the top of the dam. Can you say "Darwin Award?"

And correct, LV wouldn't flood (although the movie mentioned evacuating Kingman, which is miles from the Colorado River and hundreds of feet higher). No, Las Vegas sinks into the ground because acidic gases from magma are dissolving the rocks.

I would ask people to begin to realize and research the colorado river delta. I believe people can change injustice and the blocking of the colorado river is such. Nothing is given back to the river and there are major ecological and geological consquences to come. There has to be a balance in nature or human beings will not survive. You aren't missing anything. Las Vegas sucks ass. Every other home is an abandoned house due to foreclosure. The utility companies out here charge outrageous fees per month in the summer time. They make sure they get a rate increase to go through in the winter, so they get more money every summer. You don't hear of anyone hitting a jackpot anymore and the unemployment rate is over 15%. Now the street gangs are making it into the nice neighborhoods. Vegas Sucks
