I would agree with Zealot here..at a cost of over 150 million per copy, no situation in teh forseeable future where it is going to be used, is it any wonder that the project was cancelled after 187 of them were produced? @EnglishTurbines ok first of all the typhoon is not faster, the typhoons top speed is 1,320 mph which is about mach 2.0 the f-22 raptor does 1500 mph which is mach 2.25 no radar on the planet can see it because you can not make radar better you can make your radar scan farther away but in the end its still going to be the same radar signals getting obsorbed by the f-22's paint job and materials of the fuselage. it has the radar signature of less than a bird.

The F-22 is less agile than the Su-35. The F-22 has only 2D TV and the SU-35 has 3D multi axis. The Raptor is a little slower but can do the same manuevers, but has more control

Yaw is in the rudder axis. Neither the F-22 or F-18 can yaw while doing a backflip or loop, the F-18 cannot do a backflip because it lacks vectored thrust.
Yes the F-22 CAN yaw while doing a backflip. Watch the video that I have favorited. And the internal weapons give many advantages: stealth, less drag, shorter takeoff distance, and a lower minimum speed. Stealth, extremely powerful radar, internal weapons, supercruise, integrated avionics, godly electronic warfare capabilities give the F-22 superiority over any enemy... without exception (also, the F-22 has actually been built and mass produced unlike the Su37) :)

@EnglishTurbines ok first of all the typhoon is not faster, the typhoons top speed is 1,320 mph which is about mach 2.0 the f-22 raptor does 1500 mph which is mach 2.25 no radar on the planet can see it because you can not make radar better you can make your radar scan farther away but in the end its still going to be the same radar signals getting obsorbed by the f-22's paint job and materials of the fuselage. it has the radar signature of less than a bird.

@EnglishTurbines the only plane that can even come close to being competition for the f-22 is the russian su-37. and in the end its about the pilot of the plane and guess what, we have the best pilots in the world. we have the best infantry in the world (marines, rangers, navy seals) than it would most likely be the s.a.s. we have the most advanced naval destroyers, submarines, air craft carriers and jets. and we have the most advanced missile systems in the world.

Study history and you will find out that second front opened in the mid summer of 1943 when Soviet Union had already started a major push to kick the Nazis outside its borders. The invasion of France by U.S. forces took place in the mid summer of 1944. If that did not happen, it would take Soviets a little longer but they would overtake the whole Europe and England and you'd be next and probably speak Russian by now. Don't act like a savior.

They are impressive jets, but nobody can afford to buy them in large amounts. Even the pentagon said they were too expensive and stopped ordering them. For the cost of a single raptor you can purchase two f-35 Lightnings. The f-35 may not have the power plant the 22 does but it does have a stronger advantage in terms of armament, electronics, operating costs (More efficient in terms of fuel and lower maintainance costs), and so on. It'd be interesting to see the two aircraft side by side.

for every 1 hour of flight, the F22 requires 33 hours of maintenance. The F22 averages 1 critical failure every 1.7 hours of flight time. The radar absorbing skin makes it vulnerable to rain. The pilot is isolated 100% from communication with everyone else in the sky. The armor is so light it cant withstand small arms fire.

The F-22 is less agile than the Su-35. The F-22 has only 2D TV and the SU-35 has 3D multi axis. The Raptor is a little slower but can do the same manuevers, but has more control

blame congress, oh well guess we gotta wait for the 6th generation...also the F 22 was built to fight terrorism not the Soviet Union, the designs of the F22. I know the SU 37 is ment mostly for dogfights, but right now, at this day and age, stealth, and long range is the real way of winning a battle. The F 22 will try to avoid a dogfight as much as possible, focusing only on stealth, and its long range missile.

no it does not. The SU 30 can beat an F22 in a dogfight. The F22 avoids the dogfights and relies mostly on long range missiles. It is not manageable enough. Oh and dogfights, only account for 1/30 of all air combats.

Yaw is in the rudder axis. Neither the F-22 or F-18 can yaw while doing a backflip or loop, the F-18 cannot do a backflip because it lacks vectored thrust.

Yes the F-22 CAN yaw while doing a backflip. Watch the video that I have favorited. And the internal weapons give many advantages: stealth, less drag, shorter takeoff distance, and a lower minimum speed. Stealth, extremely powerful radar, internal weapons, supercruise, integrated avionics, godly electronic warfare capabilities give the F-22 superiority over any enemy... without exception (also, the F-22 has actually been built and mass produced unlike the Su37) :)
