  • These guys were awesome! I saw them live after getting back together and doing a tour in the '90s. FanDamnTastic!

  • I didn't know Donald Trump could sing!

  • @thepaddywagonishere Actually the vocals where recorded just after learning of John's murder. Therefore the song is not about it, but influenced by it.

  • Thumbs up ,for those who , when they actually discovered the real lyrics and meaning, felt kinda stupid and then a little smarter. I did.

  • very dam cool

  • That keyboard part half way through the song is so amazing!

  • im only 13 and i think this is a great preformance of music

  • @CarderBoar No matter how 'old' a piece is, it is good, because, musically, it 'makes sense'. If you like Red Rider's 'Lunatic Fringe', you are musically astute, IMO. Check out: 'Jesus Christ, Superstar', the original rock opera , 1970 version, by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. The music will rock your mind.

  • @MicroWorldLover Right on! Couldn't have said it better! My oldest sister used to have that double LP with the insert written with script/lyrics, much better than the stage/movie version. Ian Gillen of Deep Purple did the lead as Jesus Christ.

  • You people are amazing. My dad looked up this video and left that comment. Yes I'm 22 and yes someone else can leave a comment if you leave yourself logged in, in case you all don't see how that would work.

  • @raindance74 Yes. it is. The guy's name is Tom Cochrane. He had a decent solo career after Red Rider

  • excellent song!! the 30 year old video needs a facelift tho............

  • probaly 100 views are mine

  • Such a cool intro.Every time I hear this song I think about the movie Vision Quest when Matthew Modine is getting ready for his big wrestling match.Such a great song to get yourself pumped up.They should have made a better video though than this. But it's still a classic song and memorable riff.

  • I had no idea that solo was a lap guitar until today. I thought those were only used in twangy country western bands? I would have never guessed....

  • This song is classic 80's. One of the best intro's - ever. I have to laugh, however, at the drummer soooo getting into the rhythm he's producing. It's almost like he's making love to it @:52.

"Umm, come here my little rhythm. umm, your so beautiful I just want to caress your little (insert whatever sick think you want). Kiss, kiss, kiss..."

  • these guys couldn't look or sound more Canadian, eh

  • this song makes me wanna punch someone in the face btw look at the black guys face @ 3:05 lol

  • @Lorraine56838 i can't stop laughing!!!! Lunatic fringe is a SICK song and after seeing that dudes underbite singing the lyrics just killed it! I should have known better that to watch a band from 70-80's era and not laugh. I bet they ALL have huge "bushes" with massive pubic hair piles!! Glad I wasen't a groupie back in those days! Can u imagine all the pubes people swallowed back then! yuk!

  • @covinafalconer Still though the song is DAMN GOOD! Just try and not think about the pubes would ya... lol If you think this Vid is Funny go look at "The Mixtures - The Pushbike Song [totp2]" ROFLMFAO at the ppl on the dance floor BIG HAIR LADY @ 1:30 hahahahaaa

  • @Lorraine56838 That is so cheesy!! The singers hair looks like a wig and what's with the "che che"...I smell "gay"!! I'd never heard of the band or that song. Check out a great song from Loverboy called Turn Me Loose. These guys look like most 70's bands did..gay and cheesy. But, I still like Loverboy's music..Thanks for the good laughts with your comments..feel free to keep em comin..I love good comedy! haha : )

  • this song makes me wanna punch someone in the face

  • this sort of sounds like kurt angles tna theme

  • noob question: what is he playing around 2:30

  • @xrlk72 it's a 'lap steel guitar'

  • @xrlk72 steel guitar

  • For those who don't know, the lead singer is Tom Cochrane. He is the same fellow who sang, "Life is a Highway" in 1991.

  • For those who don't know, the lead singer is Tom Cochrane. He is the same fellow who sang, "Life is a Highway" in 1991.

  • Holy Moly....FREAKIN LOVE THIS SONG!!! Even today when i hear this....i gotta blast the stereo up LOUD!!!!! Rock ON!!!!

"life is a highway" sounds nothing like this song

  • Another song that was popular the same year MTV first aired...1981, I don't care what the young people of today think, the 1980s had the best music of any decade, more original artists and not the talentless American Idol media -made type celebrities of today

  • @undergroundbasement I agree. Music from the 80s was awesome. Even though I was a kid during the 80s I still miss it.

  • @undergroundbasement Amen to that!

  • @undergroundbasement I'm 14 year old, i love this kind of music, 70s-80s rock, glamrock.., It rules ;)

  • @undergroundbasement I'm 14 year old, i love this kind of music, 70s-80s rock, glamrock.., It rules ;) ( Credits to Guitar Hero , they made me listen this kind of music)

  • @undergroundbasement Yeah, the eighties had the best music. I kinda wish that I was born near that time, when music was good.

  • @undergroundbasement I do not care too but the 80´s where only funny and the music was erm not the best ever ? 60.70´s where the time were musicians brought a message and a deeplined text into their songs . 60-70s best guitars and text s 80´s funniest and thematical expiremental sounds ! and jea the music videos of the 80s are crazy as hell :D they found all the cool new schematics and effekts

  • @VaultTec3000 Well....you are not wrong. Technology has come a long long way during the past 30 years, hasn't it?

  • @undergroundbasement LOL...I think the same about the music of the '60's! But, I get (dig) your point. Although, I 'temper' my opinions about music, ever since I heard the Bill Cosby standup, when he said that, when he was a teenager, his father always yelled up the stairs 'turn that crap down'...he was listening to Count Basie....loooooove it! You KNOW you're getting old when you don't like the 'new music'....

  • Fag songs that rocked!

  • @CommanderChet You're a fag.

  • anybody else used to think it was lunatic fridge?? i always pictured some food and beverage cooler that was somehow crazy

  • @wiltondeportes

    hahahahahahahaha

  • @wiltondeportes

How did Weird Al Yankovic not take that idea and run with it???

Lunatic Fridge......what's up with your iiiice maaker. Temperature won't reset......my milk just went sourrrr.......

  • Pink Floyd's version is called "Lunatic Friends" it is much better

  • Man!!! I've not seen a video get this much conflict going in quite some time! Must be a hell of a song!!!

  • @thehats00 nope, just a lot of moron's!

  • Great song! Am I the only one who used to think that this was a Pink Floyd song?

  • @rick2267 i heard this on the local radio 2 weeks ago and thought it was floyd during the opening riff

  • 80S MUSIC MY PIECE OF MIND FOR ETURNITY

  • @SuperMiller500 eternity

  • This video was most likely made for $200

  • @southport97 This was at the beginning of the music video industry as we know it. When MTV was very young and actually rocked instead of the crap they play today, or the mindless dumbass indoctrination shows they broadcast today to dumb down the kids watching it. This was in the 80's. Evidently you weren't around then.

^I was actually saying it in jest, because of the minimalism of the video and how it works so well. Today's videos really more on fluff than actual talent.

  • @southport97 That's not southport Fla is it? The woods look familiar

  • @southport97 does it matter?

  • worst video production ever.. wow.

  • This is the same guy that sang "Life is a Highway" ?

  • @XthatsrightX Yes. I'm pretty sure his name is Tom Cochrane.

  • @smithersandburns Yeah I was just commenting on the level of change to bubble gum pop from this lol.

  • @XthatsrightX Oh, ok. Well in that case, have you heard his new remix? Bubble gum popppp................I know that your out there................hey Britney Speears............Life is a Hiiiighwaaayyy!!! And then I think he says something like "a gimme gimme gimme gimme yeah" but I'm not sure.

  • HAHAHHA,,, 775,831 people have viewed this,,,,,,, thats over 3/4 of a Million views.... and there are 61 thumbs down!!! hahahaha,,,,,,,, lets just say, that half probably hit the wrong button by accident,, cause of the awsomeness of this song,,, and the other 30 were guys who pushed the wrong button cause they were tryin to YOUTUBE and blow some dude at the same time and missed the button,... GREAT SONG..

  • To hell with everybodys political thoughts. There is alot more going on than deciphering what the title of this song is about. You folks are coffee shop mischief starters. If you know what's going on and you know how to fix it, then run as your next congressman. If you don't want to run then shut the hell up.

  • I am an American i can vote how I want, don't let how others vote upset you, it means nothing, if you like it thats all that matters.

  • ειναι κοματαρα μαλακες οτι και να λετε

  • I always thought that these guys sounded a lot like Pink Floyd

  • Lunatic fringe is a term used to characterize members of a usually political or social movement espousing extreme, eccentric, or fanatical views. It was coined by the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), to describe some American anarchists, especially those who engaged in propaganda by the deed.

  • One of the top songs from the 80's

  • This song is on the new Guitar Hero. :-)

  • @TimStatic Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock?

  • @generalkyletheman Yes! :)

  • @TimStatic I NEED to get that game. It's got so many great songs.

  • Lunatic Fringe we know your out there.Sarah Palin ,Glen Beck ,Teabaggers, Republicans ,bishop Long ,Dick Cheney ,Rush Limbaugh. We know you are out there ! Lunatic Fringe -your not getting back the Keys .NO NO !!!

  • @peacenikkle

    Take your politics elsewhere.

  • @peacenikkle

You will get what you are afraid of. Just think for a change. Obama hasn't helped you! Nothing can. The keys go back to the adults you juveniles are so afraid of. No one likes authority figures, wake up, but only real liberals make it a lifelong commitment. I assume you are a teenie, so I take it easy. Yes yes!

  • @mallenv peachnick\le?....

  • @peacenikkle oh yeah were getting back all the keys you commie!!!

  • Good song reminds me of Vision Quest. Love That movie.

  • This song reminds me of Dan Henderson knocking out Michael Bisping at UFC 100 in July of 2009!

  • Always liked the guitar sound in this, especially the opening notes.

  • Interesting sounds and overall effects that are unique to this song. In that respect you would more likely expect something like this from Floyd. This is a true classic that does not grow stale with time!

  • @burkarbs

    definitely quite Floydy! good call

  • I don't quite understand the Pink Floyd link, it's not the same sound, not the same music. For me 1. I tought they were refering to me, I'm of the Lunatic Fringe. 2 We don't band together, we're mostly loners so the paranoia about us getting in cahoot somehow is irrelevant. 3 Pink Floyd was an offspring of Syd Barret, yes he was of the Lunatic Fringe. But as soon as he was gone the Band moved to a more neurotypical sound, lyrics and composition.

  • Watched Vision Quest the other day and forgot about this classic! This tune makes me want to work out and get ready for a war. This should be played for our troops before they are dropped anywhere.

  • @gilalimol You got it wrong! Your troops are send against people living in a reality different than yours. Not against lunatics. They have a sense of their own realities that you don't have. It's your true problem, you look at their realities with the filters of your own realities and you screw yourself by this.

  • @gilalimol After rereading the lyrics, I think this song is about the Extreme Rigth Wings being the lunatic fringe Tom Cochrane is talking about.

  • @The0ldg0at That's right dude...the tune is anout the rise of the Ectreme Right, anti semitism, etc.

  • @The0ldg0at That's right dude...the tune is anout the rise of the Extreme Right, anti semitism, etc.

  • Looove this song!

  • Love the fact Dan Henderson uses this for ring entrance music.

  • The dislike bar is like Justin Bieber's penis. Small, and only grows when assholes touch it.

  • @legendofcraig

The dislikes are a very small percentage, though, eh? I mean, right?

  • @legendofcraig Good one.

  • @legendofcraig lmfaooooo i havent laughed that hard at a bieber joke in awhile thats classic

  • @legendofcraig lol lmao

  • @legendofcraig And you know his penis size how?

Do you have any idea how fucking stupid you seem mentioning a boy band in a response to another band's video response?

  • @legendofcraig I am afraid to ask how you know what JB's penis looks like...

  • @legendofcraig dude yes!

  • @legendofcraig - I promise to find your comment terribly offensive....just as soon as I stop laughing and take the time to wipe the tea from my computer monitor *still snickering*

  • @legendofcraig OMFG!!!! I LOL'd so hard I almost pissed myself !!

  • Great fucking music!

  • percocet friends...I know that you're out there!

  • song makes me wanna do jump ropes

  • love this song...finally found it ...i hear it almost everyday when im drivin

  • excellent song

  • Folks, the quintessential low budget, crappy early 80's video :-)...I wasted much of my youth staring at such videos with friends. You gotta love the silhoutte of the band members in the background like frozen zombies.

I love the song, however, specifically the wicked beginning.

  • FUCK YEAH

  • gary hoeys cover is much better but i still like it

  • God I love this song always reminds of wrestling in high school

  • @karopoulos Locking up with a member of your same sex is somehow enjoyable to you ??

  • should be number one on the top 500 hundred songs of rock list.

  • this might be obvioius , but this is the guy who sang "Life is a Highway" in the early 90's

  • Vision Quest

  • Pretty good for a one hit wonder.

  • @Milfchaser1 was red rider a one hit wonder

  • @dougeth Yeah pretty much so.

  • Interesting... How can anyone confuse this with Pink Floyd?

  • THERE ARE A LOT OF STUIPID PEOPLE THAT DONT GET THIS SONG THE ONES THAT DO KEEP ROCKIN ONE OF THE BEST SONGS YOU CAN HEAR [ROCK ON]

  • @keelo911 i dont get it but its still sweet to me
