  • my name is gabriella and ppl call me gab just wanted to let you know lol

  • @MsTwilightprincess12 Cool! ;)

  • Hi Gab! Hi Laurie (hope I spelled it right)! I Red-Boxed this last night, and I actually liked it (and I'm 24). I have a soft spot for movies where the Vampires act like superheroes and fight each other (i.e., Underworld, Ultraviolet, Queen of the Damned). Also, the villain, Mr. Tiny, was so wonderful. I loved how operatic and large than life he was (forgive the pun). The freaks were fun to watch and the acting was never boring. John C. Riley stole the show. The spider creeped me out, though.

  • Why the F are you comparing Cirque du Freak to Twilight? Are you a fan by any chance? And FYI the books of this movie are way better then Twilight will ever hope to be! I recommend you read them, it's not much, roughly 100 pages per book, sometimes less, and then maybe you'll understand why teens will CRY, not laugh when they see this movie!

  • If darren is 15 and 8 years passes befire he reaches vampire mountain then he is 17, nearly an adult and that will completely take away the reasons for him taking the trialss of death (I cant remember there name sorry been a while since i read the books)

  • Reasons that Cirque Du Freak is NOT Twilight:

#1: These vampires BURN in the sun, not sparkle. (Unless you're a half-vampire, then you don't burn OR sparkle)

#2: These vampires DO NOT use their teeth to feed. "..Only stupid vampires use their teeth..." ~Larten Crepsley

    #3: It just isn't.

And 8-12 year olds? "No. That bull-" ~Larten Crepsley

The movie was great. Loved it. (I'm 13).

  • yes wannabewentz, she did mention it was from a book series. listen to the video next time :P~ great review gab, i will now rent it for sure. in the advertisements it looks like it is for an older crowd. pure marketing!!!

  • im ashamed you even relate cirque du freak with twilight........sigh.........

  • Laurie seemed like a good co-reviewer for your movie review series. There is a feeling of comraderie between you that's apparent and genuine. Also, she's a good alternative for movies that are "too old' for Max and those that would not appeal to your father. Good Choice!

We saw previews for the "Cirque de Freak: Vampire's Assistant" when I took my son and his friend to see District 9 recently and from the preview it looked like a movie we would all like to see, but apparently it was deceiving!

  • Maybe rent it... But save real movie $ for some better upcoming choices!

And District 9 will put lots of movies to shame this year!!

  • you probably dont beleive me but i spent about 4 hours looking for a place to find vampire's assistant, anywas the best place i found was theonlinecinema. net/vampires_assistant i suggested it to a couple friends they all said it worked fine hope i was able to help :)

  • i actually liked this movie, i was a big fan of the books and excited to see it translate onto the big screen, better then twilight..

  • Im 14, and thought it was actually pretty good. Its more funny, not scary at all. The books are darker than this, so the age groups are totally different. Overall good movie.

  • these ladies obviously dont know what theyre talking about. im pretty sure they have no idea the books exist

  • I actually believe we did mention that it's based on a series of young-adult books; I am aware of that. Doesn't make it a good movie, though - we were reviewing the movie based on its own merits.

  • Awesome review! This movie looked really, REALLY bad, lol. I will, I can honestly say, be skipping this. Cool u do Tae Kwan Do. I used to but I got kind of bored with it, lol.

  • Dont trust them its spam, my friend suggested theonlinecinema. net/vampires_assistant if you want to watch vampires assistant, and this site is GREAT im there all the time now.

  • or unlike a poor person, you could go to the cinema and see it!

  • Awesome review, it looked The Matrix with vampires

  • I loved the review a lot more than the movie just saw it tonight!

  • loved the books and the movie wasnt that bad

  • Oh, and yes, Laurie was insightful and fun..

  • Good review, I figured this movie wouldn't be that great. And the fx looked bad in the trailer too. I went to see Astro Boy instead.

  • A. Book series was written before Twilight, don't act as if they stole the idea

    B. I'll be 21 in about a week & I LOVED the movie. I also LOVE the book series.

    C. What's wrong w/having a rare film that's not graphic

  • good review Gab & friend, yea it was a crap movie, we also did a review lol cant wait to get ur opinion....

  • Sub-Twilight sounds horrible.. great review..glad I didn't see this movie..lol

    Werewolves are better anyways =3

  • Read the books. They're much better at least. Better than freaking Twilight.

  • Yeah I had a feeling from the adds that maybe it was aimed at the "tweens". The only reason I even watched the trailer was I saw John C. Reilly on the cover and I've become a bit of a fan of his over the years. Great review!

  • Love the review Gab. Always an enjoyable time. 5 Stars

  • Great review, Gab. I think you're right, they kind of missed the mark on this one. I don't plan on seeing it, and I never read the book. The marketing on this movie wasn't that great at all. I think it will hit the $10 million mark, that's it.

  • nice review

  • excellent and yes bring back Laurie...she is good...I hope she helps you do New Moon review that would be awesome :) xx

  • It's Dad, reporting in from Nova Scotia. So this is what happens when I'm away. You girls do the vampire thing. I better get home fast!
