I just got this on the PSN, and when I played with Fou-Lu I grabbed the two treasure chests. Was that a bad idea, or will it not effect me later in the game?

@Violenteers it's a bad idea if you opened them as Fou-Lu, you won't be able to obtain them again as Ryu and the others

@IzyComp The only direct sequel is Breath of Fire 2, which takes places centuries after the first game.

@Omega666Evil It doesn't feel like it when playing it, whereas in BoF2 it's obvious it's the same world but different era. The background behind the races, shapeshifting (in BoF1 everyone was a shapeshifter, though dragon shapeshifters were rare), the great birds, everything.

@marinex1212 I agree it is different in a lot of ways but in the story it does mention on a morale about the first adventure....Also look at it in the way future from the 2nd one..
